AWAKEN YOUR SENSES
A secret hideaway enveloped by gorgeous gardens, the spa is designed to help you recharge, revive and feel heavenly from head-to-toe. We believe in the power of nature which is why you’ll find natural and botanical elements from the garden all around the spa… indoor plants, tables crafted from tree trunks and lavender placed on treatment beds. The spa lounge boasts simply enchanting views of the surrounding countryside… so relaxation begins as soon as you enter.

THE POTAGER
Overlooking the glorious gardens and terrace, a table awaits you in The Potager, where you can enjoy a wonderful meal in a tranquil and unhurried atmosphere. Just across the road is The Village Pub, our very own Cotswolds country inn, with hearty pub fare that’s a cut above what you might expect.

We’re passionate about showcasing fresh, local ingredients and in true garden-to-plate philosophy, many of our vegetables, salads and herbs are freshly picked from our kitchen garden every morning. So if you choose to linger over a relaxed lunch overlooking our idyllic gardens or tuck into some classic better-than-pub grub across the road, there’s sure to be something to tempt you.

FROM GARDEN TO PLATE
Freshly baked bread, rosemary-infused oil, garden-fresh vegetables and local produce. At The Potager, we’re passionate about using fresh local ingredients to create simple, elegant and delicious dishes. In fact, nearly all of the vegetables, salads and herbs on your plate have been picked the very same day from our very own kitchen garden… and you can’t get much fresher than that.

SIMPLE AND SEASONAL
Our Executive Head Chef, David Williams and his team create delicious seasonal menus using vegetables and herbs harvested from our own kitchen garden. We also work closely with local farmers, specialist butchers and sustainable fishmongers to source the very best local produce. That’s what The Potager is all about… showcasing our bountiful garden and the best produce that the Cotswolds has to offer.

PEACEFUL AND SERENE DINING
Floor-to-ceiling windows in The Potager showcase the splendour of the gardens and in warmer months they are thrown open to let the sounds and scents of the garden inside… and occasionally our resident robin. A lingering lunch or delicious dinner for two… you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy The Potager.

Picture the very best of British country pubs. Fill it with a generous stock of Cotswolds craft ales, crisp West Country ciders, and a tip top wine stash. Add a menu of delicious food that’s soulful, seasonal and cleverly showcases the very best local produce, plus six rather good-looking bedrooms with all the comfy touches you could want. You’ve found our Village Pub, just across the road from Barnsley House.

FRESHLY PICKED
The perfect example of an English country garden, the gardens here at Barnsley House were created in the 1950s by the renowned garden designer, Rosemary Verey. Today, much of the seasonal produce you’ll taste in our restaurant has been freshly picked from our bountiful kitchen garden.

WEDDINGS
Storybook gardens and a timeless country house retreat, surrounded by idyllic Cotswolds countryside… could there be a more romantic setting for your wedding? Our very special venue can host up to 100 guests for the ceremony, up to 70 for the wedding breakfast in the restaurant or up to 120 in a marquee in the grounds.

And with 18 individually designed bedrooms—plus 6 more at The Village Pub across the road—we have plenty of room for your guests to stay over and enjoy everything we have to offer.

Say ‘I do’ in the beautiful surroundings of our gardens or restaurant, feast on your favourite dishes with a custom menu created for you by our Head Chef… and party till the small hours with your loved ones. And with all the hidden nooks in the gardens and house, there’s no shortage of stunning backdrops for your photos… official and unofficial!

THE GARDEN
Our magical country gardens feel like a fairytale. Time seems to stand still here and there’s something special and unique with each changing season. Our famous Laburnum Walk has become iconic and there are surprises at every turn.

Explore our kitchen garden and you’ll discover how fresh our produce really is. And you’ll no doubt come across our talented gardeners who lovingly nurture the flowers, plants and produce to keep everything looking lovely all year-round. Created by the revered garden designer Rosemary Verey, the gardens at Barnsley House are a classic example of an English country garden.

With knot gardens, the Laburnum Walk, statues by Simon Verity and the bountiful kitchen garden growing much of the produce that you’ll find on our menus, these sublime and timeless gardens are sure to make a lasting impression.

Rosemary Verey has designed famous gardens around the world—including gardens for Prince Charles, Sir Elton John and the New York Botanical Gardens—but we’re very proud that our gardens at Barnsley were her first creation.
