CASTLE ROOM
Experience sleeping inside a historic castle in one of our Castle rooms with views across the courtyard or woodland. Settle down and relax in either a king, queen or twin bedded room all featuring an ensuite bathroom most with walk in shower.
GRAND STATE ROOM
Our large, luxurious open plan or one bedroom Grand State room suites are available with either a king or twin beds. All suites include comfortable sofa seating and a dining area with chairs, along with an ensuite bathroom featuring an elegant, roll top bath.
One even has a 4 poster bed! These suites are all very individual in design, shape, size and décor but all offer stunning views across the valley, hotel gardens and Dartmoor National Park.
PRIVATE ESTATE LODGES
Stylish, contemporary and unashamedly indulgent, the 5 Red Star Bovey Castle estate hides 22 three-storey self-catering country lodges within its grounds, perfect for your next private countryside escape.
Each country lodge has three ensuite bedrooms, sleeping up to eight people in total (maximum six adults). They also have a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, oven, dishwasher, microwave and an open plan lounge and dining area, leading out on to a balcony with views over the grounds.

BOVEY CASTLE GOLF
Designed in 1926 by J F Abercromby, one of the finest British golf course designers of the last century, Bovey Castle’s 18 hole championship golf course is both challenging and beautiful.
Opened in 1930, the course quickly gained national acclaim for its reputation as one of the most enjoyable places to play golf and nearly 90 years later, guests still love to play golf at Bovey.
Designed to rival its sister courses at Gleneagles and Turnberry, the course has been described as an experience of golf never to be forgotten. The course meanders through the hotel estate, surrounded by idyllic landscape and offers challenges to meet any handicap.
ACTIVITIES
With 275 acres of Dartmoor National Park on our doorstep, we like to make the most of the outdoors at Bovey Castle. Book a tour around our Deer Park where you can learn about our fallow deer and experience their daily feeding, or try your luck with our archery range and clay pigeon shooting.
With over 10 different outdoor team building activities on offer, there’s plenty of ways to get out and about at Bovey Castle. There’s also cider and sloe gin making in our long barn or cocktail masterclasses where you can choose to invent your own cocktail or mix up a classic.
BIKE RIDING AT BOVEY CASTLE
Bikes may be hired from the reception desk during your stay with us at Bovey Castle, along with helmets, these are for cycling around the grounds.
If you wish to explore the local cycle path and neighbouring villages to experience the beautiful Devon countryside we recommend the local bike hire centre in Moretonhampstead, Dartmoor Bike Hire.
CLASSIC CAR HIRE
If you fancy exploring beyond our wonderful grounds why not take the wheel of a beautiful classic car? What a way to experience the Dartmoor countryside.
With an excellent range of vehicles available from the luxurious Bentley to the icon that is the Jaguar E-Type. Get behind the wheel and have the opportunity to see what this wonderful region has to offer.
With the hire there is the opportunity to be collected from the local airport, Exeter, or train station, Newton Abbot. If you are arriving using your own vehicle your choice of car will be waiting outside.
We will give you a demonstration of the features of the car and how to get the best from it. You will then get the opportunity to have a short accompanied drive to make sure you are comfortable and then you are ready to take to the road.
FLY FISHING AT BOVEY CASTLE
Bovey Castle is the perfect fishing hotel – not least because you can fish our stocked lake on the Bovey Castle estate. In addition to the estate fishing, Bovey Castle offers angling for brown trout, salmon and sea trout on many miles of the Upper Teign, a 10 minute drive from the hotel.
We can also arrange a professional instructor or guide for you, offering expert fly fishing tuition. Our guides can help you to get the most from your fishing while you are here with us.
Our introduction sessions with one of the activities team for guests who are new to the pursuit are available in small group numbers. Have a go and learn the basics of casting a fly and some of the more traditional techniques.
