San Casciano dei Bagni is a famous destination, due to its hot thermal springs known since Roman times, and Casa Fabbrini is located in a convenient location to explore the most characteristic towns of Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. Furthermore, you can also visit Umbria, reachable in less than one hour from the farmhouse.

Casa Fabbrini is the result of the careful restoration of a rural home dating back to the early XVII century, a project that created a refined combination between the respect to the origins – shown by the stone walls, the wood ceiling beams and the antique doors – and the modern interior design solutions that characterize the furniture, the fireplace in the living room and the meticulous attention to details in all the farmhouse’s environments.

The large open space living room on the ground floor – with its bookshelves, the TV and lounge areas, the fireplace, the dining area with big and small tables – is available to all guests and becomes, together with the kitchen, the beating heart of Casa Fabbrini.

Our country guesthouse has really everything you need to make you feel as comfortable as in a hotel, but at ease like at home.

TRADITIONAL HOSPITALITY
Tuscany is a beautiful place to visit, but it is even more beautiful to live it to the utmost. Even if just for vacation, this means having a comfortable, charming, relaxing and, above all, authentic place to come back to in the evenings.

For this reason, Casa Fabbrini offers its guests double rooms with private bathrooms that are individually decorated and furnished, albeit provided with the same amenities and attention to detail regarding interior design.

The colors of the walls recall the hues of the paints that were once used in the stables of this rural home. The doors of the rooms, with their ancient locks, date back to the XVII century and have been reinstated and returned to their original function after an accurate restoration.

However, we recommend paying attention to your children (especially if they are aged 1 up to 8 year) because of the steps and the particular building structure, restored in full compliance of its origins.

Hospitality, at Casa Fabbrini, is also the art of delight the palate of the guests, so breakfast and dinner are always included in the rate. In our country house you can taste the most popular dishes of traditional Tuscan cuisine, revisited by the expert chefs Paola and Giorgio, the owners of Casa Fabbrini.

Here you’ll feel at ease like at home, enjoying the sweet and savory delicacies for breakfast, typical dinner menu and tasty appetizers, based exclusively on local products.

Both breakfast and dinner are served in the large dining room on the ground floor, a familiar and welcoming space, located between the lounge room and the kitchen. In summer you can dine outdoors on the table in the garden, a very nice chance to tasting the delights of our cuisine under the starry sky.

Upon request, you can book in advance the lunch: it’s possible to decide it on the same day if you want a lunch menu based on local specialties. This service is available from June to September. Dinner at Casa Fabbrini provides many menus of regional cuisine, focused on traditional recipes.

The menu includes a soup, a first course, one or two second courses, several side dishes of raw and cooked vegetables, homemade sorbets, fresh seasonal fruit and a selection of desserts.

In case of special needs (diets, allergies, children’s menus, etc.), you can ask in advance a customized menu. No additional cost is expected if this request is specified at the time of the booking confirmation.

AFTER DINNER AT CASA FABBRINI
Have a toast with guests to celebrate a dream vacation is a pleasure for us, so at Casa Fabbrini you can take a sip of our after dinner drinks, including a selection of spirits produced here (licorice, myrtle, fennel liquor and bay leaf liquor) and other specialties, such as Limoncello, Cream of Limoncello and Arancello, provided by a Sicilian farm that collaborate with us.

Upon request, you can enjoy a cocktail or a drink as an aperitif before dinner, to make special every moment of your stay at Casa Fabbrini.

The salt water swimming pool of Casa Fabbrini is in a panoramic position, since it is surrounded by olive trees and offers a romantic view of the hills around the farmhouse.

This is the ideal place for a relaxing swim, sunbathing on the deck chairs and reading books outdoors, savoring every moment of your vacation. The pool is open from 31st March to 31st October, to allow you making the most of the mild climate that is characteristic of this part of Tuscany.

Back in time, the greatest wish of farming families was to send their children away from the hard work in the fields. It was like that for us.

Along many years of city life, we ​​have become two established professionals. But the attachment to the land, to all its fragrances and colors that the city conceals, has always had the best of any career project that came our way.

Somehow, we knew that our place was somewhere else and that our resources, one day or another, would have all been invested in our ‘return’.

Today, together with our grown-up children and our beloved bassets Caterina and Milo, we have succeeded in restoring a XVII century farmhouse in Tuscany, nestled in the lands around San Casciano dei Bagni thermal baths, in the middle of the Val d’Orcia.

This farmhouse has now become Casa Fabbrini, a country guesthouse where our passion and our everyday life are finally one.

Our days are spent taking care of a magnificent olive grove, a kitchen garden, a rich orchard, together with the hospitality of a variety of guests, united by the love for the tranquillity of these lands and the pure flavors of country life.

Cooking is our forte, because in our family and amongst our friends we have always had a penchant for togetherness, since the time when simply gathering and watching the sunset was the most delightful moment of every vacation.

So, in every dish there is a story to tell, in every recipe a lesson learnt in life, in every ingredient a sense of respect for nature that should not be contaminated.

Casa Fabbrini is a country guesthouse, but it is also our dream. It was not created to be a business activity and it will probably never be profitable. But we are happy. Very happy.
