As part of its personal collection of contemporary art placed all over the space, Lio created a new concept of a gallery, where you can live with works of art worthy of a museum on your room wall, in hallways and common areas, for as many nights as you choose.
ROOMS
Casa Malca, a property located in Tulum that opened in 2014 with 8 rooms and later in 2018 was renovated and expanded comprehensively and respectfully with the natural environment that surrounds it, expanding to 71 suites built on the beach.
From its name, concept and architecture, Casa Malca offers an eclectic mix in each of its rooms as well as spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and the gardens. Every little detail has been designed to welcome and make guests feel at home.
In the original house are the Master suites, decorated with unique works of art and chosen one by one for each suite. Along our beach and in front of the sea are our Junior suite beach front and Master suite ocean view rooms; just a few steps and away and on the sand are the Junior suite garden view, Family suite and Townhouse Labyrinth suites.
MASTER SUITE BEACH FRONT
The exclusive Master Suite Beach Front have a privileged location for being in the main house with direct access to the beach either from the first or second floor. The rooms have an eclectic decor where the original works of art from the owner’s personal collection are the protagonists.
The spaces cease to be merely functional and become a pleasant experience where the guest will enjoy every corner, be it the room, the bathroom, the terrace or balcony that are the ideal place to relax enjoying the best view of the sea.
MASTER SUITE OCEAN VIEW
These spacious suites are located on the second floor of the main house. Its balconies offer fantastic views over the Caribbean Sea where you can feel the breeze while enjoying total privacy.
The decoration has been carefully crafted around the works of art from the owner’s personal collection that give these rooms exclusivity and provide the guests with a sensory experience like nowhere else.
TOWNHOUSE LABYRINTH SUITE
This two-level suites surrounded by a maze is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy the privacy of the tropical garden. There are 4 suites that have a living room and a bedroom with unique decoration and furniture that combine classic and contemporary style with exclusive vintage pieces.
King size beds are lined with fine organic sheets from Kassatex. Complete and spacious bathrooms on each floor complete the experience, with two types of showers and bathroom amenities.
FAMILY VILLAGE SUITE
This room is the perfect place for a family, those who want to enjoy the private views of the tropical garden just a few steps from the beach. Each suite has a unique decoration, modern furniture and contemporary art pieces which are the essence of Casa Malca.
The king size bed is lined with fine organic Kassatex sheets with the option of adding one queen size bed. Complete the experience, two individual showers, two toillets and sinks spacious, elegant and modern, and bathroom amenities.

PHILOSOPHIA
The term, from Greek origin, is composed of two words: Philos (“love”) and sophia (“thought, wisdom, knowledge”). Thus, philosophy, is the ‘Love of Knowledge”.
Philosophy has the most incredible views over the blue sea during the day, and moonlit silver waters at night. Its decoration was conceived by an artistic and eccentric mind, creating a space that is unique, romantic and sarcastic at the same time.
The menu features local ingredients and knowledge handed down from generation to generation in Mexico, combined with contemporary European cooking techniques. We serve our homemade bread early in the morning at the house, with the breakfast of your choice: Mexican, American or Continental.
You can try one of our dishes at the restaurant or by the pool. You can also look through our wine list, for a perfect pairing with every dish, be it pizzas baked in our wood-burning oven or the catch of the day.
AMBROSIA
In ancient Greek mythology, ambrosia (Greek: Aμβροσία) is sometimes the food, sometimes the drink, of the Greek gods (or demigods), often depicted as conferring ageless immortality upon whoever consumes it.
Ambrosia is an Asian specialty restaurant, with dishes created by Chef Jonathan Carbajal and made with the best and freshest ingredients. Built entirely with recycled wood from Casa Malca’s renovation, it is decorated with works of art by the artist Keith Haring.
HEAD OF A MAD MAN
The Beach Club, Head of a Mad Man has the name inspired by one of the works of Jean Michel Basquiat, which holds an important sentimental value for Lio Malca. The restaurant concept invites the guests to enjoy an excellent grill and the best sea food accompanied by a glass of rose which is the perfect combination for a beach day.
CALMA SPA
CALMA SPA has been created thinking of a level of Luxury and relaxation where textures and essences are incorporated to find a level of relaxation for the body and mind.
