The owner family Eliane, Hubert & Olivier Zegg and the Chasa Montana Hotel & Spa give us the opportunity to realize our dream with our ideas of hospitality. I, Daniel Eisner, have known the Chasa Montana since 1996, where I also met my wife Carina in 2005.

Our common goal is now to preserve the philosophy of the house with special attention to detail and to inspire our guests together with our young, well-trained team. Many of our guests have become good friends.

In December 2022, the Chasa Montana was reopened as a 5-star superior luxury hideaway after the major renovation and we know that your expectations are rising.

The new 25 double rooms and 20 suites offer not only more space but also a very special feel-good atmosphere that was previously unknown to this extent. Various suites were redesigned and small rooms were converted into large suites. Gault-Millau- and Michelin Star chef Bernd Fabian and his team achieve this high standard with the finest ingredients from Tyrol, South Tyrol and the Engadin region, with a talent for haute cuisine and just the right amount of passion.

Experience exclusive culinary highlights at our gourmet hotel in Switzerland. With the Dine Around programme you can dine in our 5 à la carte restaurants. With this special, our guests have the opportunity to opt out of half board daily until 12:00 pm and dine in one of our 5 à la carte restaurants.

LA SERENA RESTAURANT
Every day there is a choice of up to eleven different dishes, consisting of five starters, three main courses and two desserts. Neither the number of dishes nor their combinations are limited.

This new fine dining concept is based on the á la carte style and allows guests to decide individually what and how much they want to eat – perfect for combining independence and flexibility with great choice and first-class products. In addition to the daily changing half-board menu, classic classic dishes are available.

LA PASTA RESTAURANT
In an alpine-Italian ambience and casual atmosphere, La Pasta’s guests can expect a wide selection of pasta and wood-fired pizzas from the show kitchen, in addition to classic dishes.

Our restaurant-pizzeria in Samnaun Dorf offers excellent advice from over 20,000 wine bottles in the in-house wine cellar, where every wine novice or professional can discover and deepen their taste.

LA GROTTA RESTAURANT
During the winter season, we will spoil you at La Grotta raclette fondue restaurant in Switzerland with various traditional meat fondues, cheese fondues, dishes from the hot stone to grill yourself and original Swiss raclette a la discretion. A special highlight is the Fondue Chinoise Original, with Asian components.

In our typical Swiss raclette and fondue restaurant, you can choose from a selection of over 100 Swiss wines or from the large wine list with 1000 items. If you are with us in a group and someone is not in the mood for fondue, raclette & co., we are happy to serve you our dishes from the La Pasta restaurant in Samnaun, which is located directly above La Grotta.

THREE COUNTRY BREAKFAST
Start the day with a rich breakfast and the finest products from our region. Every day you will find a delightful selection of different types of bread, homemade jam, various cheese and meat products, various fruit juices, yoghurt, muesli, oatmeal and fresh fruit at the buffet. CELIAC DIET
As part of the gluten- & lactose-free holiday region Scuol – Samnaun – Val-Müstair, we offer our guests a carefree stay in the ZEGG Hotels Samnaun. In the Relais & Châteaux Chasa Montana and in the Chalet Silvretta Hotel & Spa you can enjoy various lactose- & gluten-free dishes not only as part of the half-board but also in the á la carte restaurants “La Pasta” & “Bündner Stube”.

Our staff is continuously trained in these areas so that you can enjoy excellent advice and service. We have attached a description of coeliac disease and lactose intolerance with the suitable and unsuitable products.

Coeliac disease is an intolerance to gluten (glutinous protein). With a corresponding genetic predisposition, it leads to damage to the mucous membrane of the small intestine. The damage leads to the breakdown of the villi of the small intestine, which reduces the surface of the intestine and leads to chronic inflammation of the small intestine.

The effects vary from person to person. Most commonly, it causes nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and, due to the reduced absorption of nutrients, fatigue and weight loss, as well as anaemia and bone loss.

In children, coeliac disease can also lead to growth disorders. In contrast to lactose intolerance, there is no tolerance threshold for coeliac disease sufferers and they require a strictly gluten-free diet!

Accurate bartender Grigoris spoils all his guests: from exotic cocktails, long drinks and exciting own creations to first-class beers, wines and champagne – the bar offers everyone a suitable drink and attracts with its cozy ambience.

NATIOLI LOUNGE
Bartender Simon manages to captivate the guests of the Natioli Lounge with just a few moves and enchants them with excellent cocktails and an exuberant atmosphere. With harmonious music and excellent drinks of all kinds, Natioli Lounge takes advantage of the wide range of ZEGG Cigars humidors and allows its guests to smoke inside the lounge.

REGIONAL & FRESH FOOD
Regionality exists not only to make an important contribution to environmental protection and sustainability, but also to guarantee hotel guests the best possible quality of selected products.

Therefore, all restaurants source the majority of their products directly on site or from the immediate vicinity and work hand in hand with local farmers, butchers and bakers.

The incorporation of regional products as the basis of the dishes is decisive for the ZEGG family, but at the same time they attach great importance to the individual wishes of their hotel guests – for a gastronomic experience at the highest level.

Exclusive components serve to refine the dishes and create an interplay of different taste nuances, which in turn form a unique cross-over between these first-class products – dishes that delight the guests’ palates.

The keyword: cross-border regionality. The advantageous location of the restaurants in the border triangle enables the kitchen to source first-class products not only from Switzerland, but also from the neighbouring countries of Austria and Italy: From South Tyrolean apples to fresh eggs from Vorarlberg.

The kitchens of the various restaurants source their meat products from several local suppliers. Raw ham and Bündnerfleisch come from the renowned Hatecke butcher’s shop in Scuol. During the warm season, various types of game such as roe deer, stag and chamois are shot by hunters in Samnaun’s extensive forests and made available to the kitchens.

Other meats such as veal and beef are sourced from farmer Christian Prinz in Samnaun. The kitchens receive lamb from the nearby Nogglerhof. Both farms offer high-quality meat as well as first-class processing and convince with their excellent quality.

When processing the animals, the kitchen attaches particular importance to the “nose to tail” principle. In this traditional skill of cooking, the entire animal is processed so that there is no waste of the animal.

SAUNA WORLD
In the 1500 m² new Montana SPA you can choose between 7 different saunas. Two of them are textile saunas. This large wellness area at the Chasa Montana Hotel & SPA will make your stay in Samnaun unforgettable.

The Montana SPA is a nude area and open from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm (outdoor saltwater pool from 2:30 pm). By the way, as a guest of our wellness hotel in Samnaun in the Engadin you enjoy the sauna world, outdoor pool, grotto with whirlpool, spa lounge, relax room and silent room exclusively!

PANORAMA SAUNA
The panorama sauna is a Finnish sauna and the most popular form of sweat bath. It is based on the repeated alternation between heating up the body and targeted cooling down. In general, sauna visits strengthen our defence system, cleanse and purify the body, support the respiratory organs and strengthen the cardiovascular system.

Sauna visits are not recommended for people with cardiovascular problems, thrombosis tendencies, extremely low or high blood pressure, acute infections and acute rheumatism. Sauna session: approx. 10-15 minutes.

BIOSAUNA
It differs from the Finnish sauna in temperature and higher humidity (approx. 30%). Therefore, it is easier for many people to tolerate than the Finnish sauna. Sauna session: approx. 10-15 minutes

BRINE STEAM BATH
Our brine steam bath is a warm air bath with extremely high humidity (approx. 95%). It promotes purification via the skin, helps with respiratory illnesses and is particularly suitable for muscle tension, colds and coughs. Sauna session: approx. 20 minutes

AROMA STEAM BATH 
With a temperature of approx. 43 degrees and the interplay of moisture and natural aromas, it stimulates the circulation, relieves muscle tension, cleanses the skin and has a calming effect on the respiratory tract. Sauna session: approx. 10-20 minutes

TEXTILE SAUNA
With a slightly lower temperature (80°C) than in the Panorama Sauna (90°C), the Textile Sauna is somewhat easier to tolerate. In the textile sauna you will also find another aroma steam bath. This makes the wellness trip a relaxing experience.

INFRARED CABIN
The infrared rays are absorbed by the skin and transmitted to the inside of the body. The skin warms up from the inside (deep warmth) and sweating occurs without circulatory strain.

This deep heat creates a very good cleansing and purification effect. It also has a positive effect on the skin, joints and digestion. Muscle tension is relieved and it is gentle on the veins. Application time: approx. 10-20 minutes

This way, the sauna session not only leaves a good feeling, but also a lasting memory. You can experience the sauna infusion in the Panorama Sauna in Chasa Montana.
