Built in 1896 by Madame Baillou de la Brosse in the district of La Marmaillette, Verrières faces the Cavalry School “Le Cadre Noir”. Designed under Napoleon III, Verrieres has kept its elegance and remains an authentic testimony of the 19th century lifestyle and entertaining art.
In the upstairs rooms, you will enjoy large windows overlooking the park or the cavalry school. The ceiling height and fabric lined walls blend harmoniously to offer space but privacy, serenity and well-being.
The Chateau de Verrieres is surrounded by a four-acre « à l’anglaise » park, located on the main residential avenue in Saumur. Discover and relax as you take a walk in the park before tasting a Crémant de Loire under the linden trees.
A majestic marquise by A. Durenne (famous for the quality of its fonts) protects the main staircase of granit, as you enter the chateau through the monumental oak door of the reception room. Local limestone facades are lavishly decorated with vermiculated bosses on the ground floor.
The windows, put on balusters ornamented with mascarons, depict the Greek Gods on the Park side and the Human feelings on the Cavalry school side. This facade is decorated with two lion heads carrying in their mouth flowers and drapery.

Rising Sun Suite
From the living room facing the rising sun, you will have a dominant view of the city of Saumur, Perle d’Anjou, and its castle whose silhouette is illuminated by the first rays of the sun.
The view of the park from the room is magnificent, with a Japanese decoration that is very Zen. Large bathroom illuminated by the morning sun with bathtub and Italian shower. A change of scenery for a total serenity.
Junior Suite
Spacious and bright rooms as you dream of (48 – 51 m²), walls stretched with fabric. The windows open onto our park “à l’anglaise” or the Command Hotel of the Cavalry School “Le Cadre Noir”, double king size beds (or twins on request).
Bathrooms with bathtub and separate shower, double washbasins, traditional traditional handmade earthenware similar to that of the Châteaux de la Loire shaped by the Rairies Montrieux. These rooms can accommodate one or two additional beds.
Eugénie Room
Walls stretched with fabric, large double bed. This room (23m²) overlooks the Cavalry School. Its bathroom equipped with a large shower, with walls covered with traditional Rairies Montrieux earthenware, whose tradition dates back to the construction of the Loire Castles, is very bright with its window opening onto the city and the Château de Saumur.

The Gourmet Breakfast
A privileged moment, to start a good day. Breakfast is served in the dining room from 8:30 to 10:30 am on the ground floor, under the tufa vault of the old very sunny kitchen in the morning and on the east terrace in season.
You will find on the buffet a wide choice of drinks and a multitude of sweet and savoury delicacies, regional or homemade products, as well as gluten-free products. At your request, we can cook soft-boiled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs or omelettes.
You can also, if you are in a hurry or have a light appetite, have an “Express” breakfast served in your room (a hot drink, a fresh orange juice, a Viennese pastry and fresh bread, a yoghurt of your choice)
The Bar
The bar is open every day until 10.30 pm. The boudoir, the living-room and the music room invite you to have a drink and enjoy a peaceful relaxing experience within their « Belle Époque » setting. Share a drink with the birds singing on our south terrace as the sunset casts its last rays.
