Here, we take our history into account without strictly adhering to it. The untreated wood, the high-quality furnishings, and the select materials – at DasPosthotel, nature calls the shots. Harald Margreiter was responsible for the interior design. With feeling and professionalism, he bestowed our rooms with a naturalistic flair, an unobtrusive style, and a cozy feel.

Thomas Urthaler was the architect for the expansion and reconstruction of our hotel and was also responsible for the wooden construction. As a result of the fruitful cooperation between these two masters, our hotel is now an artistic highlight with all the comforts.

We designed our rooms with loving attention to detail. The harmonious cooperation of materials, colors, and lights was crucial to us. Tradition as the foundation of our design and modern, purist simplicity are also important. Far from home and yet still feeling at home – this creates a natural, warm ambiance.

OLPERER DOUBEL ROOM
West-facing – for fans of the evening sun. This beautiful double room has a panoramic window and a balcony made of larch with seating from which you can gaze at the Zell parish church and the Zillertalbahn. This room was named after the 3,476 m high Olperer in the Zillertal Alps.

SOMMERBERG SUITE
West-facing – with tile stove. The Sommerberg suite offers beautiful wooden flooring as well as a large panoramic window incl. balcony made of larch with seating and view of the Zell parish church and the Zillertalbahn. This suite is named after the Sommerberg plateau on the Hintertuxer glacier.

WILDGERLOS SUMMIT SUITE
With 2 balconies facing the east and west. Located in the ecological wood construction wing of DasPosthotel is this luxurious designer summit suite with exclusively natural materials and a view of the Zell parish church, the Zillertalbahn, as well as the small garden and the Gerlossteinwand.

The “Wildgerlosspitze”, the namesake of this summit suite, is located on the border between the Austrian states of Tyrol and Salzburg and has 2 summits: the main peak (3,280 m) and the northwest peak (3,267 m), previously called the Signalspitze.

ZILLERGRUNDL SALETTL
West-facing with evening sun. The Zillergründl Salettl offers space for up to 4 people, beautiful wooden flooring, and a panoramic window with the best view of the Zell parish church and Zillertalbahn. Enjoy the evening sun on the large balcony made of larch with comfortable seating. This summit suite got its name from the Zillergrund, a side valley of the Zillertal.

THE LOFT
South-facing – with open fireplace, SkyBath, and large terrace. Pure joy is guaranteed in the fairy-tale Grand Hotel loft. Luxurious spaciousness, peacefulness accentuated by natural fragrances, and the grandiose view of the Zillertal mountains blend with an authentic, ecological signature design.

Valuable, natural materials create a pleasant, healthy atmosphere. Azure fabrics, an ambiance flooded in light, exquisite Zillertal antiquities, the sideboard-cabinet from the Renaissance, and the contrasting, chic Minotti sofa provide a sense of coziness with their artisan craftsmanship.

The large sunny terrace with furniture offers a comfortable place to sit outdoors. Perfectly stacked firewood for the beautiful open fireplace is a part of the basic amenities. In front of the 300 year old log wall made of spruce, the fireplace creates a cozy, home-like ambiance.

A game table as well as a large shelf unit made of solid wood and antique oak flooring top off the offer. WLAN, Sky 3D TV, and our ServePads provide comprehensive information. You can also adjust the air conditioning to your desired room temperature.

THE BREAKFAST
It’s quite possible that your breakfast may last longer than usual here. We do more than you could imagine so that breakfast with us tastes better than at home: every morning, we wake up with the rooster, cut fresh fruit into colorful slices, arrange Zillertal hay milk cheese on a tray, and offer succulent ham along with smoked bacon from our own hunting.

We bake our bread ourselves according to a traditional recipe. We make sure that it is hot and fresh from the oven so that our farmhouse butter melts deliciously on it. Our ZillerSasons coffee blends smell of almond, blueberry, or caramel.

We have personally selected fair-trade beans of exclusive varieties and had them roasted by the Wildkaffee roasting house. Watch out – you will be hooked after the first sip!

In the new restaurant in DasPosthotel in Zell am Ziller, fans of high-quality Austrian cuisine will get their money’s worth. The kitchen crew uses mainly organic products from local farming for the preparation of classic dishes.

ZillerSeasons has a large network of local suppliers with high quality standards available to them. The cuisine in DieMarie is traditional and down to earth. Always straightforward but also full of bold sophistication.

Here, we serve what grows, what is harvested, what is hunted, and what is milked in the region, preferably of organic quality. Thus, natural aromas are preserved, and the ingredients can achieve their full taste potential.

We hike in the “nature park of the zillertaler alps” (Zillergrund, Stillup, Gunggl, Schlegeis), Tuxertal and Gerlos. The guided hikes take place 5 times a week. Information on the respective hikes can be found at the reception.

The catering is tailored to your requests and is as individual as it is healthy. From an organic breakfast and easily digestible lunch to a sophisticated dinner menu, you can expect only the best. EXPERIENCES & ACTIVITIES
Hardly any other valley in Tyrol provides its guests with such a diverse sports and recreational offer as the Zillertal.

With 4 ski regions, 125 km of cross-country trails, numerous ski tours in all difficulty levels, snowshoe hikes, several ice skating rinks, winter hiking paths, 14 of the best prepared toboggan runs, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and ice climbing, the Zillertal is a true winter paradise.

In summer, you can enjoy hiking and mountain climbing on 1,400 km of hiking paths with over 150 staffed hill farms and huts. For mountain bikers and cyclists, the Zillertal offers alpine MTB tours as well as family bike tours through the valley.

There is also golf, climbing, swimming, or e-biking. Attractions and cultural offers such as the ErlebnisSennerei Zillertal or the Nature’s Ice Palace on the Hintertuxer glacier provide a colorful vacation program even in bad weather.

SKIING
Skiers can look forward to 4 large ski areas that cover 478 kilometres of ski-runs in total, for all levels of difficulty. 178 modern flying foxes and lift as well as 26 ski bus routes ensure unlimited ski fun. HIKING
At DasPosthotel, all hikes start right outside the door – and the list of possibilities is almost unlimited. Beautiful, easy, difficult, long, short, strenuous, or breathtaking paths – whatever your tastes, you are guaranteed to find your favorite tours here.

Since summer 2016, we offer our ZillerSeasons guests guided hikes. Our certified mountain hiking guide Judy will personally take you to the “hiking hot spots” and show you unique natural spectacles and viewing points with special character!

While you indulge in enjoying the beauty of our natural landscape, your hiking guide will stick to the schedule, monitor the weather, and keep you on the right path. We offer easy, intermediate, and difficult hikes.

This is also the prefect opportunity to learn interesting information about our Zillertal Alps high mountain nature park or the surrounding environment. In the great outdoors, we can let loose and become a kid again!

WALKING & JOGGING
The Run & Walk Park Zell am Ziller is an Eldorado for all joggers, runners, Nordic walkers, and walkers. You can start right at DasPosthotel. After only a few meters, you will reach the Ziller Promenade, the path along the Ziller river.

The promenade stretches out 8 km towards the south to Mayrhofen and 30 km to the north to Schlitters. You can run, jog, or walk away from the noise of the streets in the diverse landscape of the Zillertal.

Here, you will find the interactive map with all hiking and running routes. If you left your heart rate monitor at home, simply ask at the reception desk and we will lend you one.

GOLF
As our guest, you have the opportunity to purchase the Golf Tirol Card. For only € 88.00 per person (instead of € 110.00), this card includes the green fee at a golf club of your choice. This means that with this card, you will receive 5 green fees for € 420.00, 4 green fees for € 344.00 and 3 green fees for € 264.00, which you can redeem at the listed golf clubs.

During their future vacations in Zillertal, golf fans will be able to enjoy teeing it up accompanied by beautiful views: The first golf course in Zillertal is just 9 km from DasPosthotel. Nestled in Zillertal’s mountain world is Zillertal Uderns golf club on around 65 hectares of land.

A practice facility with covered tees and short-game area along with Zillertal golf school are all open. Our ZillerLodge, lies next to the 4th tee, an incomparably beautiful place to stay if you are looking for a timeout close to the greens – and also yet another ZillerSeason.

BIKING
Whether you will be riding an e-bike, mountain bike or regular bike – you will be able to thoroughly enjoy the impressing scenery. The Zillertal comprises an excellent network of routes and roads. It includes e.g. the Zillertal cycle road, that runs along the Ziller promenade.

Stretching over 30 kilometres it is fun for the entire family. But the Zillertal has also quite a lot to offer to those, who are not recreational cyclists. Mountainbikers can look forward to action filled tours. The Zillertaler Höhenstraße and the mountain pass road will make the serious and dedicated cyclist’s heart leap for joy.

ART & CULTURE

KRIMML WATERFALLS
Admire the largest waterfalls in Europe, the AquaSzenarium, the WasserWunderWerke, as well as the new centre of the waterfall with a height of 385 m. On the way to Krimml we can recommend a detour in the Wildgerlos Valley. Over 1400 m above sea level, it is the ideal destination for hikers, mountain climbers, nature lovers and connoisseurs. At the Durlassboden reservoir you get to the beautiful Finkau.

ACHENSEE
