Over five years, the new owners renovated this unique place with a passion to transform it into a luxurious hotel complete with a sublime spa, in the heart of a restored vineyard estate.
1582, a key date in the history of the Estate, On 1 February 1582, the Bishop of Montpellier gave Pierre Verchant an estate, which acquired his name and remained in the family for the next two centuries.
On 23 September, 1878, Jules Leenhardt acquired the estate and manor house inspired by the “Montpellier Follies”, which had been built in the heart of the unique grounds. He paid particular attention to these grounds, even calling on eminent Swiss landscape architects of the time: the Bühler brothers.
A picturesque setting with old stone buildings, a contemporary gem. The deliberately intimate hotel maintains a low accommodation capacity to promote optimal service and comfort.
26 luxurious apartments, rooms and suites from 30 to 90 m² achieve a subtle blend of old architecture and contemporary design that extends into the hotel’s reception, lounges and lounge bar.
The château itself has 9 rooms and suites, 14 are located in outbuildings including 2 rooms for people with reduced mobility; there are also 2 apartments and a detached villa occupying the former forge. Each room is unique and differs in its décor, configuration and facilities.
The Villa Sarnelly, a private mansion at the Domaine de Verchant
Since January 2012, the Villa Sarnelly has also been available for rent at the Domaine de Verchant. A 16th century mansion, entirely renovated, masterfully blending modernity and authenticity and just a hop from the hotel.
At the heart of a 7,000m², landscaped garden, the villa boasts 600m² of living space. Contemporary decor, an 80m2 master with a bathroom featuring a balneo bath and a private hammam, two rooms with a private water room and a self-standing apartment of 60m².
The living space is ideal with its 50m² TV room, 70 m² living room with fireplace and 120m² living and dining area, ideal for parties with family or friends.
The fully-equipped kitchen and dining area commands superb views of the garden, the 20×8 m swimming pool (and 10×4 m paddling pool) and the large covered terrace with its large barbecue.
Tennis court, City Park, indoor bar area with baby foot, a pinball machine, children’s playroom, wellness area with gym of 150 m2, indoor heated pool, sauna and steam room.

The restaurant “Verchant” of the Domaine de Verchant is open throughout the week whether it’s for a business lunch or dinner with friends or family.
With stunning views of the outdoor pool and grounds, come and discover the skills and creativity of our executive chef Mathieu Gourreau. Choose from the seasonal menus created by our chef where the emphasis is on regional produce and enhanced by a warm, intimate atmosphere.
Breakfast
Whether as a buffet or through room service, have your breakfast in the Domaine de Verchant hotel and spa on the edge of the garden or on your room’s terrace. Enjoy the delicacies prepared by our chef when you wake up each day accompanied by one of the many teas or coffees on our breakfast menu.
Lunch

An absolute must for this charming oasis among the vines: an invitation to escape, relax and unwind… You will experience the pleasure of lazing in the sun, with Mediterranean scents wafting by… just 10 minutes from the city center protected from the urban bustle, a unique, exceptional place.
The restaurant among the vines, seating 70, where you can sample cuisine with a southern French flair, at once refined and delicious. The relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere will relax and delight you.
The “La Plage” bar, a concept combining: champagne, innovative cocktails, DJ, bands, tapas… a whole programme over the summer season. The whole beach team will be at your service to leave nothing to be desired, and to help you have a truly relaxing experience.
The appealing 11 x 21 m swimming pool overlooking the vineyard and lined with sunbeds and deckchairs is conducive to that luxuriousness found on all the best beaches. The restaurant, bar area and parties are open to everyone, subject to availability.
For customers who are not staying at the hotel, access to the pool is only granted when coupled with a restaurant option either by reserving a table or with a relaxation option. You also need to have a privilege card, which you can request from our friendly staff.
The spa experience, Cultivate Well-being
As they love to travel, Mr and Mrs Mestre, the owners, were able to bring the various benefits offered by spas worldwide back with them and develop them in their own well-being space: Verchant Le Spa.
This cocoon of bliss covering 2,000 sq meters located at the heart of 17 hectares of vineyards, the Domaine de Verchant spa is dedicated to relaxation and wellness and is open Monday to Sunday from 8:30am to 9pm.
Verchant le Spa is open to hotel guests, members of the private club and also external visitors in the form of a half day discovery experience or Day spa.

At the edge of the vineyards that surround the Estate, our resort has a garden-level indoor pool equipped with a countercurrent swim system, experience showers, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, 3 saunas and a relaxation room where relaxation and serenity are the order of the day.
In luxurious surroundings dominated by minerals and relaxing fragrances, our eight treatment rooms, including three VIP duo suites with indoor gardens, private Jacuzzis and Turkish baths, offer your senses a journey where time stands still.
To combine well-being of body and mind, the Domaine de Verchant has a 400 sq meters gym with the latest generation Technogym equipment and the expertise of a personal trainer to guide you. The spacious changing-rooms with a sauna provide every comfort.

Just next to the spa’s reception you will find the shop. Verchant Le Spa has established affiliations with renowned brands such as Valmont, Anne Semonin and Biologique Recherche to create a unique space dedicated to treatments for the face, body and mind.
Our team of practitioners offer various teas from Mariage Frères, personalised treatments and advice, and will introduce you to the Anne Semonin, Valmont and Biologique range of products. You will also find our gift sets, all our full day offers and our Verchant Le Spa private club cards.

We have developed a comprehensive menu of Anne Semonin treatments exclusively for the Domaine de Verchant Spa based on the benefits of essential oils and trace elements. The Anne Semonin experience means personalised treatments through the synergy of essential oils and trace elements specially selected for you.
The Domaine de Verchant Spa also selected Valmont, from the Swiss medical tradition with 20 years of expertise in skincare, providing effectiveness, safety and pleasure in using their highly technical anti-ageing treatments with visible, lasting results.
Finally, since the end of 2017, Verchant Le Spa has been offering Biologique Recherche, it is the combination of a clinical approach to esthetic care, pure, concentrated, almost raw products, and original and rigorous protocols that underpin the reputation of amazing efficacy of Research Biological Methodology.

The 280m² prestige function room on the ground floor where everything has been designed for the comfort of guests: architecture combining modernity and authenticity, opening onto the gardens or the vineyards, as well as the 200 m² covered terrace seating up to 400 people for dinner.
Nearby, our 180m² Grand Chai cellar room is customisable into three 60m² breakout rooms or workshop rooms for groups of 30 to 150 people with a number of possible configurations.
The Domaine de Verchant in Montpellier also has two lounges on offer inside the hotel for groups of up to 30 people, for meetings or executive seminars, with the option of privatising them for business meals, but also for private lunches and dinners.
Our function rooms and lounges are equipped with flip charts, video projectors, screens, Wi-Fi, modern furniture, lighting, sound systems, etc. Different views are available to you: the Languedoc courtyard and fountain or the 250m² terrace overlooking the vineyard, or our pool and the garden.
