Divided across five floors and three types (Twin with River Views, Double with River Views and River View Suite), our 70 carefully furnished rooms are designed to offer maximum comfort. They also offer unique views over the Douro River. Free WiFi is available, while we also have one room for disabled guests. It is fully equipped and adapted to your needs.

Located at the top of the building are these 6 large suites, which have been carefully decorated to meet the expectations of every guest. With the Douro landscape as the backdrop, each suite has one bathroom and a large balcony. They offer many other features too.

The 5 Twin Rooms at the hotel all offer a charming, modern and stylish space, whether you are travelling on business or leisure. They have a work desk, free high-speed WiFi and many other features.

The contemporary Palato D’Ouro Restaurant can accommodate 144 diners. It offers a menu in harmony with the exquisite setting of the Douro region. The wide variety of unique produce in the region enables us to blend a collection of delicacies that will take you on an exclusive gastronomic experience.
RUBY BAR
The relaxed yet charming Ruby Bar is the ideal place for a date, small meeting or simply a spot of relaxation as you savour our cocktails. With a balcony and terrace overlooking the Douro River, it offers a selection of drinks and wines by the glass and a snack and light bite service carefully prepared by our chef.
ACQUA BAR
Located on the 7th floor, the informal Acqua Bar presents a light menu for guests looking to enjoy the refreshing setting of our infinity pool. A vegetarian meal with the family or some fresh fruit juice at sunset are two relaxing options available. Let the serenity and simplicity of Acqua Bar seduce you and enjoy the pastoral scenery as the land hugs the river.
THE ROYAL SPA
Surrounded by the majestic landscapes of the Douro region, The Royal Spa is a relaxing space where wellness intermingles with dreams. It is a temple of relaxation and well being, rich in scents, textures and colours.
Based on the four natural elements – air, water, fire and earth – The Royal Spa offers a selection of treatments that cross local philosophies with exclusive and refined sensory experiences.
Its wonderful location on floors 6 and 7 enables you to take in an exclusive setting while you enjoy a relaxing massage in a Vichy or Scottish shower, visit the three relaxation areas, enjoy a facial treatment, or exercise in our gymnasium.
In our indoor swimming pool you must use flip-flops and a swimming cap, as well as a bikini/swimsuit for women or swimming trunks for men. If you do not have any of these items you must buy them to enter the spa. In order to maintain a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, under 16s are not permitted. The Royal Spa is open every day from 10 am to 8 pm.

With direct access to our outdoor infinity pool, you can enjoy total peace and quiet here.
At our indoor swimming pool guests must use flip-flops and a swimming cap, as well as a bikini/swimsuit for women, or swimming trunks for men. DOURO VALLEY
The Douro region is the oldest vineyard in the world, decreed in 1756 by the Marquis of Pombal due to its unique soil characteristics of slate and its privileged location with sun exposure.
The terraced hillsides involved in the production of the wines that pertain to the denominations of origin of “Porto” and “Douro”, as well as the authenticity and integrity of the cultural landscape contributed extensively to the Alto Douro Vinhateiro being granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status in December 2001.
In terms of historic heritage, the Douro region is also an important point in the northern region, as it presents the heritage of the prehistoric, Roman, Moorish and Christian peoples who constructed true gems that remain standing today.
The stunning roads overlooking the river enable you to enjoy, corner after corner, impressive scenery. Magnificent Douro
The journey begins at 09:30 am, to Quinta do Vallado, at Peso da Régua. A visit to the wine cellar and a homemade wine tasting is waiting for you. After the lunch at DOC Restaurant by the Michelin Chef Rui Paula, the journey will take you to the Viewing Point of Casal de Loivos and to Pinhão train station. A cruise in the Douro river is the last activity before the return to the hotel.
The Three Cities
Discover Amarante, Vila Real and Lamego. The journey begins at 9 am as you head for Amarante, before continuing on to Mateus Palace in Vila Real. Before returning to the hotel you will have time to visit the city of Lamego.
