SANDY BEACH
The Aegean Sea is one of the treasures that the Cyclades have to offer and the beautiful sandy beach of Vathi gives guests the chance to make the most out of it.
A specific part of the beach of Vathi in front of Elies Resorts has been tailored in such a way – with sun beds, umbrellas and special service – for the private use of the hotel’s guests, in order to enjoy long hours of swimming and sunbathing.
SWIMMING POOL
The hotel displays a main swimming pool (50 meters long) and a second one for children (15 meters long), both with 100% sea water , ergonomic design and full compliance to safety regulations. The pools are decorated by the famous sculptor, Christina Sarantopoulou, and can become a favorite meeting point or relaxation spot for guests all day long.
TENNIS COURT
For guests that want to train outdoors, there is the choice of the tennis court of the highest standards by the sea, constructed in 2006.It is open from 10:00 to 22:00, with extra charge, and a reservation is necessary. Tennis rackets and balls are available. Tennis lessons with a specialized teacher could be arranged upon request.
CHILDREN ACTIVITIES
While staying at the hotel, kids can have fun in the playground by the beach or can enjoy the sea by canoe or hydro-bike with an extra charge. Alternatively, they can enjoy the children swimming pool and make the most out of the separate playroom of the hotel which has two soccer tables, two Playstation consoles and two simulation bucket seats, as well as several board games. The elies boutique located within the hotel’s premises, displays a small but remarkable collection of exclusive jewelry, souvenirs, accessories and ceramic items, all designed exclusively for the hotel by Greek and foreign artists.
Guests can select a precious gift for themselves or their friends, keeping this way alive the memories of an unforgettable holiday. A limited collection of ceramics designed by the artist Zoe Keramea in collaboration with the local ceramist Antonis Atsonios, is available in the shop.
At the same time, fine jewellery – such as necklaces with rare materials dating back from the 18th and the 19th century – designed by Maria Spinthouraki and silver jewellery by Skevi Afantites, are at the disposal of guests. Finally, collectible photo books of Sifnos and other parts of Greece can also be found in the shop.

POTTERY LESSONS
The aesthetics of Sifnos is also manifested through the art of pottery, a traditional profession that has been flourishing in Sifnos ever since ancient times due to the island’s rich argyle deposits and the artists’ ability to combine practicality with beauty.
You can learn how to make your own ceramic utensils or decorative items by attending the pottery lessons organized within the hotel or alternatively, in small ceramic pottery workshops.
FESTIVITIES
Sifniots, being loyal to their customs, they organize many festivities throughout the year, expressing this way the religious and cultural character of the island. For every single church out of the 300 that exist on the island,there is at least one religious feast being organized with traditional music, dance, food and wine,according to the local customs.

GREEK COOKING LESSONS
One of the greatest pleasures offered on the island is its famous traditional cuisine, making the most out of local produce through unique recipes. The greatest evidence of this culinary tradition is undoubtedly “Tselementes”, the first cook book published in the late 1920’s, by a Sifniot head-cook, named Nikolaos Tselementes.
Therefore, the hotel gives you the chance to learn how to cook some of these famous Greek dishes, by preparing salads, main courses and deserts with local ingredients and then sharing them with your beloved ones. Alternatively, cooking lessons could be organized in a properly equipped place in Apollonia.
GREEK DANCE LESSONS
There is also the option for guests to learn 1 to 3 Greek folklore dances within an hour. Each guest (older than 7 years) can follow dance lessons and learn the steps for traditional Sifnian dances and other folklore Greek dances of Epirus, Thrace, Pontus and Asia Minor.At the end of the lesson, guests will get instructions and a CD with folklore music to keep practicing if they wish, on their own.
