With unusual and breathtaking environments, on New Year’s Eve from 2001 to 2002, Etnia Casa Hotel opened its doors to welcome guests from all over the world in environments that revealed a perfect balance between comfort, essence and sophistication.

For the Etnia seal, hospitality involves the art of the meeting, the welcome, and the legitimate exchanges between the hotel staff and the guests, so that, when returning to their homes, they have unforgettable affective memories of their lodging, Bahia and quality tourism in Brazil.

For ethnicity, hospitality is more than a concept. It is a purpose renewed daily, to each new guest entrusting their experience to governance, concièrge and chef.

This commitment is maintained through the choice of quality products and certified provenance, in the indication of serious professionals who provide varied outdoor sports experiences, visits to cultural and intangible heritage, reservations for restaurants and tickets to events, such as the Music Festival in Trancoso, and we mine wellness immersion practices.

In this diverse range of possibilities, some options are more frequent, such as tours to the beaches of Espelho, Corumbau, the districts of Caraíva and Cabrália, the Historic Center of Porto Seguro, the Monte Pascoal Reserve and Jaqueira Reserve, yoga classes, massages, horseback riding, mountain biking and water sports such as diving, kayaking and kitesurfing.

Guests can also schedule classes of forró, capoeira, lambada and zouk lambada, in addition to hiring beauty and therapeutic services.

Arrival and departure transfers can also be requested. In addition to this varied range of options, the team has the expertise to propose more personalized experiences around gastronomy, environment, local culture and organization of surprise celebrations for special dates during the stay.

Pets don’t stay out of here. They’re part of any family. So you’re very welcome. But for the stay of all guests to be respected, there are some parameters in these cases so that everyone can enjoy the accommodation with total comfort and tranquillity. In this sense, we send a detailed document previously containing the suggested conditions for the reception of pets.

Many criteria determine the choice of the guest by the hotel you want to know, in addition to the subjective identification of simply being enchanted by a particular suite or space. In any case, to help with your choice, Etnia Casa Hotel has villas designed to welcome couples, families with children and even individual guests.

With different dimensions, all villas have extremely spacious environments (ideal for those travelling with lots of luggage) and have a kitchen equipped for those who like to cook.

Villas
The five villas, whose names refer to the Yoruba language and its culture, are encrusted in a large garden full of native trees, such as pau-brasil, embaúba, jaqueira and jambeiro, as well as orchids and bromeliads.

The layout of each unit provides privacy and silence for guests to cultivate dolce far niente in cosy and sophisticated environments that respect architecture responsibly in its construction and maintenance.

Oriré
In the Yoruba language, Oriré refers to a good adventure, referring to the feeling of happiness and prosperity. This villa has a décor inspired by the nomadic peoples with predominantly yellow and gold burned décor elements. All curtains and cushions are made of Italian shirt fabric and the bathrooms have marble and Brazilian stones.

Designed on two floors, and with a walk-in room that gives breadth to the environment, its upper space houses a suite, bathroom and a large walk-in closet. On the ground floor, two suites house cosy spaces that lean into the woods.

The common area brings together living, dining room, toilet, equipped kitchen and a large terrace with strategic openings to the garden, from where you can admire leafy jabuticabeiras, hoses and pau-brasil. In total, there are three suites harmoniously balanced on 238.90 m².

Afín
In the Yoruba language, Afin refers to the king’s palace, referring to the feeling of balance between elegance and sophistication. In this villa, blue and white flood and illuminate the décor inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean.

The marine atmosphere remains in the European and Brazilian ropes and ceramics, in addition to the Bahia blue stone vats, which is a natural rock that has a pigmented finish of great beauty accentuated by the crema Paraná marble.

Afín has two suites with a large walk-in that allows natural ventilation and also creates movement for curtains made of Italian shirt fabric. The common area includes living, dining room, third bathroom, equipped kitchen and a large terrace facing the private garden. In total, there are two suites distributed in a space of 217.75 m².

Bibalé
In the Yoruba language, Bibalé refers to the state of calm and serenity. Sensations that translate into an atmosphere dominated by shades of sand and earthy colours with decorative elements composed of natural fibres. The entire floor is handmade local ceramic.

With large balconies that overlook the Atlantic Forest forest, the villa has two bedrooms and hammocks that connect the environment and invite contemplation. Bibalé has two suites and a common area that includes a dining room, a kitchen equipped with mostly utensils from Italy and a large terrace overlooking the garden. In total, there are two suites arranged in 186.40 m².

Dining
When it comes to gastronomy, freshness is always welcome at the table. This criterion guides the inspiration of the cuisine of Etnia that refers to the Mediterranean cuisine and the richness of Bahian cuisine. The menu features fruits and vegetables from the family farming of locals and the hotel’s small vegetable garden.

The breads and yogurts are made by the kitchen team, which still produces a jackfruit jam with the fruits of the great garden jackfruit, which sharpens the palate of the most demanding. Meals are always served in a large and open space with a beautiful view of the pool, which brings fluidity to the very personal service provided to guests.

Meals can be arranged at sophisticated tables within the villas themselves. Etnia Casa Hotel offers kosher cuisine with a specially designed menu according to Kashurt’s rules. All ingredient suppliers are certified and the meal preparation process is closely monitored by a mashgiach.

For those who enjoy a good national vintage, the hotel has its own sparkling wine, in Rosé and Brut versions, which have natural fermentation carried out with champenoises techniques with 24 months of maturation.

Trancoso
Situated on top of a cliff, Trancoso maintains in its Square the essence and originality that have made this small village one of the most sought-after destinations in Brazil.

With authenticity, charm and a bossa of its own, it has 150 km of white sands and beaches of an emerald green that invite you to hiking, outdoor activities or, simply, bucolic contemplation.

Its diversity of gastronomy and shops full of charm are an invitation to flank the district and, when the light of day falls, soft, to the rhythm of the tides, the tone of bohemia takes over the city.

This cosy atmosphere arose in the 1970s when the hippie movement inspired young people, artists and an entire generation that was in search of simplicity and found in the Trancoso of the time an authentic environment, with small houses occupied by fishermen who welcomed tourists who were exploring to arrive where at the time there was only lamp light.

Since then, the village founded by Jesuits saw the arrival of asphalt and electricity in the 1980s. The small Church of St. John the Baptist, founded in 1656, the protagonist of the original house, welcomes passionate couples who choose Trancoso as their destination of bonding.

Today, the Square is considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and its residents perpetuate the traditions of their ancestors and fight for the preservation of natural and immaterial heritage.

Sustentability
Etnia Casa Hotel is born with the conviction that the responsibility of architecture and hospitality goes through the sphere of sustainability. Guests testify, during their experience, a native and preserved Atlantic Forest, in addition to the use of recycled and certified wood, intelligent measures of water reuse, garbage recycling and composting.

The maintenance of traditional practices of local culture and the preservation of natural and intangible heritage also integrate the management purpose.

In addition, and to join forces, the owners and team members maintain a close relationship with civil entities of the city and community leaders, which allows us to actively participate in affirmative actions, such as those developed by the Trancoso Awakening Association (ADT), of which we are associated, and which supports important initiatives related to the environment.

At Etnia Casa Hotel our only extravagance is to ensure that guests have a wide and remarkable experience and that the surrounding community lives in a healthy and autonomous environment.
