Ett Hem was a private residence built in 1910. The people who built it had a propensity for beauty, and they left their mark on this townhouse, situated in a peaceful, residential area of Stockholm.
This Arts and Crafts building is a tranquil home away from home, steeped in the Scandinavian aesthetics where functionality meets beauty.
The success in intricately transforming the house into a hotel, whilst still retaining the individuality and personality of the original, is a testament to the tenaciousness of interior designer Ilse Crawford who has been involved in the project since the start.
Transforming the house into a hotel has been an incredibly delicate process: owner Jeanette Mix wanted to retain its personality but it also had to offer all the services required by modern travellers.
The result is that Ett Hem is again a happy house filled with the best collection of furniture, Scandinavian antiques and design. With twelve rooms, Ett Hem offers discerning guests comfortable interiors and bedrooms full of summery whiteness of light.
Outdoors, the courtyard garden is a secret city wilderness that is the perfect place for summer breakfasts or winding down in the evening over a chilled bottle of wine.
Ett Hem is not the usual hotel. Ett hem is a place where guests are treated as friends of the family, a place that allows guests to become part of it and feel at home.
DOUBLE ROOM
Double Rooms at Ett Hem have a queen-size bed, a comfy armchair and an inviting bathroom. The rooms are furnished using Swedish materials such as oak, Gotland stone, and sheepskin, and they all represent the signature Ett Hem feel; luxurious comfort. 20 square metres.
DELUXE DOUBLE
Our beautiful deluxe doubles are larger than the other double rooms at Ett Hem. There’s a special seating area with armchairs and writing desks. Our deluxe doubles have king-size beds and are situated at the top of the house. 23–29 square metres.
JUNIOR SUITE
Should you want larger accommodation, we recommend our junior suites furnished with four-poster or king-size beds, and magnificent marble-clad bathrooms.
Some of them have a fireplace. In addition, two of our junior suites have balconies. 36 to 42 square metres.
SUITE
The wonderful suite at Ett Hem has a king-size, four-poster bed, and a dining area. There’s a sitting area with a sofa and a chaise longue. The magnificent bathroom has a special marble tub and the suite also features a tiled stove. 54 square metres.
ONE BEDROOM MEZZANINE SUITE
Somewhat smaller than our suite, this cosy split-level accommodation offers a sitting area with a cast iron stove downstairs and a king-size bed and bathroom on
the mezzanine level. 43 square metres.
DINING
Our food is based on using the best fresh produce available. The menu is decided upon in the morning. Let the chefs surprise you! Staying at Ett Hem is like being a guest in somebody’s private home. You are welcome to do as you please and at the same time you will be taken care of down to every last detail.
We have a well thought out menu of delicious food using local produce, which can be served at a time of your choice and wherever you prefer. Eat in the kitchen or a bit more formally in the library, or look out at the garden from the Greenhouse, a great place for breakfast.
Ett Hem is there for you to use as if it were your own house, which means that you are welcome to help yourself to a snack or a drink in the kitchen anytime you like. We also pride ourselves on an original selection of champagne and wine.
