Greshornish House, once owned by Kenneth MacLeod, sits in a secluded magical loch-side setting at the end of a single-track road, surrounded by its gardens and a belt of beautiful trees, the perfect Skye accomodation.

The remote and unspoilt Greshornish peninsula, which projects northeast from the base of Waternish, is a superb away-from-it-all location far from the stresses of the wider world, ideal for the enjoyment of a restorative break and yet central enough to enjoy all that the Isle of Skye has to offer.

A sense of tranquillity begins to descend the moment you turn off the main road and is complete when you sink into a soft chair in front of the drawing room fire, with a dram or two and a good book. The extreme peace of this hidden away location is almost tangible and really rather special.

In the Billiard Room, try a game of chess or snooker. Upstairs the ten comfortable and inviting bedrooms (all en-suite) offer rest and relaxation with tea/coffee making facilities our rooms allow you to relax and kick back after a long day of walking or driving around our island. Our hotel, we like to think, is a home away from home.

Outside you can wander in ten acres of gardens and grounds or spot eagles and otters from the shoreline. For the more energetic we have croquet out on the lawn during the summer months, and we have a coastline walk right at our back gate which takes you around ‘Greshornish point’.

Rooms & Suites
Our rooms with their en-suite facilities are all very different but all offer you the incredible peace that we take for granted at Greshornish and the sound of silence that guarantees a relaxing night’s sleep.

Our rooms with their en-suite facilities are all very different but all offer you the incredible peace that we take for granted at Greshornish and the sound of silence that guarantees a relaxing night’s sleep. All bedrooms have colour television, telephone, hairdryer, tea & coffee facilities.

The variations in price on our tariff page reflect the individuality and aspect of the rooms in this former laird’s house and the time of year.

It should be noted that, due to our remote and tranquil location, television reception is very poor and we have little to no mobile phone reception within the house. There is limited wi-fi available in the public areas of the house.

Master Room
Our Master room collection are the finest rooms we have and are lovely big rooms with views of Loch Greshornish or our Walled Garden. These rooms have some of the House’s original features. We have double and twin rooms in this category.
