Welcome to Grey Cliffs Ranch, 5,200 acres and an 8,000 square-foot lodge near the Madison River. Here you can enjoy your own private Montana ranch vacation and a recreational getaway with some of the best fly fishing in the Greater Yellowstone region.

Our accommodations are fully customized to suit groups of different sizes and different interests. With full-service lodging and dining, guests enjoy attentive service, but also the independence to create their own adventures.

At 4,500 feet in elevation, the 5,200-acre Grey Cliffs Ranch is situated on a varied landscape, featuring rolling hills, grasslands, rangelands, and high mountain peaks in the backdrop. What started off as a cattle ranch when the property was purchased in 2003 has been restored over time with the goal of bringing it back to it a more native landscape.

The Grey Cliffs restoration project has included planting thousands of acres of grasslands and trees, creating wetland protection with fences to protect springs from livestock, and reviving wildlife habitats, including a variety of birds and wild game.

Now guests can see deer and elk along with bald and golden eagles, and a variety of upland birds including wild sharp tailed grouse, Hungarian partridge, pheasant, and chukar partridge. Two trout fishing ponds are located on the Grey Cliffs Ranch property, for healthy wetland habitat and recreational uses.

Just 40 minutes east of the ranch is the vibrant western town of Bozeman, the gem of southwest Montana. Its historic downtown is full of great shops, museums, and art galleries. Our local rivers and mountains are second to none in beauty and wildlife.

Fly fishing is a way of life in this area, and we are in the middle of some of the best rivers in the nation. We are also just north of Yellowstone National Park and its amazing geysers and wildlife. Winter in Montana is a special time as well. World class ski resorts, snow shoeing, and dog sledding are all favorite activities.
