Novalis was one of the most important poets of German romanticism. His real name was Georg Philipp Friedrich Freiherr von Hardenberg and he is an ancestor of the current count. The BurgHotel’s restaurant bears his name: At Novalis our kitchen team offers dinner seven days a week.
The focus is on perfectly prepared dishes with the best ingredients from the region. Vegetarian can look forward to a completely vegetarian menu in three to five courses. HARDENBERG DISTILLERY
Since 1700, the name ‘Hardenberg’ has stood for excellent ingredients and masterful distillation. And that throughout the entire process – not only were the raw materials cultivated on the estate in Lower Saxony, but also processed directly – over 300 years of “Korn” (a German spirit) tradition, German distillery and craft.
The “Hardenberg Distillery” in 2019 focuses on innovation stemming from tradition – tradition, expertise and values which remain fundamental, but the distillery is being modernized and is adding more product categories.
Combining traditional manufacturing methods with modern finishing techniques, Hardenberg’s master distillers create exciting alcoholic innovations and revive honest tastes.
Under the new roof of the Hardenberg Distillery, exclusive handmade spirits of various categories will be created in the future. Honest, direct and strong in character – just like the people who create them, and, as it was done 300 years ago, everything remains in one hand.
Raw materials are grown and processed directly on site and thus reach the bottle without detours. The Hardenberg Distillery is not just a production site, but also invites visitors to experience the distilling process and linger at Hardenberg.

GÖTTINGEN COURSE – THE CLASSIC
The course, which today covers 68 hectares, was built in two sections, and is very varied and demanding. Above all, it requires stamina, because over its total distance of 6,033 meters, it constantly alternates between uphill and downhill sections. The fairways are wide and characterized by lush trees.
GOLFSCHOOL
Stefan Quirmbach, one of the best TeachingPros in Germany, has been running the Stefan Quirmbach Golf School at the Hardenberg GolfResort since 2004. He was named the 5* Professional of the PGAs of Europe in 1997, and in 2008 obtained the title Masterprofessional of the PGA of Germany with a master thesis on the short game.
Stefan Quirmbach has been the president of the PGA of Germany since 2000. He is also known for numerous contributions to the largest German-language golf magazines and golf supplements of well-known daily newspapers.
The Stefan Quirmbach Golf School offers fantastic opportunities for golfers of all abilities with its eight covered driving ranges, two video booths and a range for eighty players. A putting green and four different chipping, bunker and pitching greens as well as an area for practising the short game are also available.
The golf school offers extensive training programmes and provides suitable options for every skill level and every specialised area of the game. In addition, you receive private tuition tailored to your level of performance and individual goals.
