The History
Hôtel La Ponche was a small hole-in-the-wall establishment in 1938 run by the parents of Simone Duckstein, soul and memory of the place. From the pontoon, people docked in small boats when La Ponche was no more than a simple fishermen’s bar.
Then, the stars came naturally in the 1950s. For its raw simplicity and its luminous creativity. They came on the famed Blue Train, which released them sleepily onto the platforms of Saint-Raphael station.
They came to Saint-Tropez because it was a “little paradise.” Since then, the hotel has brought together a legendary cast of artists, writers, and filmmakers who have come to enjoy this inexhaustible source of imagination and lightness that is La Ponche.
To write. To love. Some even settle down. It is here that the art of living on the Riviera was born. Hôtel La Ponche is to Saint-Tropez what a spring is to a river. Away from the tumult of the current, it shelters an intimate cove, the origins of the energy and soul of the city.
These children of the century came to Saint-Tropez because it was a “little paradise.” Hot coffee and warm toast were waiting for them. Sometimes they came down in a car like Françoise Sagan in her Jaguar X/440.
Simone was 13 years old when the cast and crew of And God Created Woman came to settle in La Ponche. She saw the Bardot-Vadim romance unravel under the burning gaze of Jean-Louis Trintignant.

THE CLASSIC ROOM
Overlooking the pedestrian streets or over the patio, these rooms are bright and calm. Furnished with elegance and naturalness, it recalls the interiors of Provençal homes.
The warmth of the terracotta tiles blends with the beige tones of the bedroom and invites you to let go. It has a large shower, equipped with a rainfall showerhead. One of the classic rooms is dedicated to the soul of La Ponche, Simone Duckstein. Boris Vian also often stayed there.
THE DELUXE ROOM WITH SEA VIEW
Overlooking the small cove of La Ponche. It is vast – nearly 30 m2, and bathed in light, some with a terrace. Facing the Mediterranean, it offers travelers captivating views.

THE DELUXE SUITE
This is a vast suite of more than 40 m2, ideal for long stays with a furnished living room and convertible sofa. From the writing desk, the windows open onto the lively pedestrian street of rue des Remparts. It is frequented by many regulars of the fashion world: Inès de la Fressange and Kenzo were fans of the place.
The PRESTIGE TROPEZIAN WITH SEA VIEW
The two most famous suites of the hotel. They were the favorites of Brigitte Bardot and Annabelle and Bernard Buffet. From a large, private terrace overlooking the sea and the citadel, they offer one of the most spectacular views of Saint-Tropez.
Deckchairs invite one to rest and sunbathe out of sight. This large suite is comfortable and spacious for which all the furniture has been carefully selected. It has a private living room and an independent bathroom. It is both a love nest and a haven of tranquility.
THE APARTMENT
It is a private apartment open to the sea. 72 m2 that can accommodate 4 people thanks to a bedroom and a large sofa bed. A fully equipped kitchen opens onto the living room, creating a chic and cozy space to gather.
Five windows in a row offer a breathtaking view of the sea. The apartment is equipped with two independent bathrooms. To make the legendary hotel that is La Ponche, a place just for you.
THE RESTAURANT & BAR
On the terrace overlooking the sea or in the dining room, Chef Thomas Danigo offers Mediterranean cuisine based on local vegetables, fresh fish du jour, and market produce.
A gastronomy that is both elegant and inventive, in the image of La Ponche. In the evening, the restaurant highlights its distinguished charm: cotton tablecloths and subdued lighting.

From 7:00 am to 10:30 am, in your room, on the terrace, or in the dining room, you will be served a breakfast designed by our chef. A continental version with freshly squeezed fruit juices, a hot drink, a basket of breads and pastries, and fruit salad.
You can also order avocado toast, granola with berries, eggs Benedict. If the evening has been longer than expected, we can prepare detox or energy juices.

The mythical piano bar Saint-Germain-des-Prés-la Ponche is back. After your first morning dip, the bar is open with a menu full of creations: Romy Schneider’s grand Piscine, Brigitte Bardot’s Love Me or Love Me Not, or Boris Vian’s Froth on the Daydream.
The soothing and friendly atmosphere invites you to settle down in the deep sofas or to continue a conversation at the bar. When the evening comes, our pianist takes possession of the place. We play the melodies of the great French successes for which it is good to dance or sing, while at the horizon, the sun joins the sea.

If La Ponche lives by day, at night it is always present with a room service menu adapted to small cravings. Drinks to liven up the lazing around or for an aperitif on your terrace, and some finger food or a late-night snack for the party lovers.

The SPA BY LE TIGRE
Le Tigre Yoga Club offers practices adapted to the spirit of vacation, specially designed for La Ponche. On the menu: yoga classes facing the sea or individual practice in your room.
Treatments and massages provided by experienced massage therapists: Ayurvedic, Balinese, Lomi Lomi, and Swedish. In the fitness room, La Ponche provides clients with bicycles, mats, fitness and strengthening equipment.
YOGA CLASSES
Every morning from 8 to 9 am, the yoga class takes place on the pontoon facing the sea (20€). The ideal setting to let go and open your chakras before starting the day. It is open to people from outside the hotel, up to a limit of 15 people.
The fitness club also offers Vinyasa Yoga, Yon Yoga, and Pilates sessions. Individual classes and on-demand sports coaching are available.
MASSAGES
Our therapists offer three types of massages. The Intuitu Personae is a deep massage practice with oil, mixing several protocols from Ayurvedic to Lomi Lomi through Yogic and Californian.
