Run by Romanelli family for over fifty years and three generations, Hotel Flora welcomes its guests offering the magic of a peaceful and refined atmosphere. This charming hotel with forty rooms, each characterised by unique style and furniture, stands out for its attention to detail and customer care. The hotel is a seventeenth century Palazzo, whose internal courtyard unveils a secret lush green garden, a pure delight for your body and soul. Hotel Flora is located near St. Mark’s Square, behind Calle XXII Marzo, one of the most elegant streets in Venice.

From Hotel Flora guests can reach in a few minutes numerous monuments and places, such as the Grand Canal, the Fenice theatre, the Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Church of La Salute, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, all of which are symbolic of Venice.

THE HISTORY
The Romanelli family has been running the Hotel Flora for more than 50 years. The family mastered the hospitality craft since the 60s when Diana and Alessandro, together with their son Ruggero started this adventure.

In 2002, Gioele, Ruggero’s son, together with his wife Heiby realized that contemporary hotels should provide an experience more than just a “beautiful bedroom with restroom”. With this in mind, they opened the Novecento, a small nine-bedroom hotel, ethnic-chic in style that offered to its visitors a more authentic and contemporary experience.

The wish to give their guests a special welcome and provide them with impeccable service has led to the creation of INSIDE VENICE, an on-line guide to Venice produced by real Venetians. It contains suggestions for alternative itineraries to discover the real Venice, which still exists but has become increasingly difficult to find.

These successful experiments led the family with the support of Zoe, Gioele’s sister, to explore a new concept of hospitality, one where visitors become an integral part of a living city. Was the ultimate and fundamental step to create.

In 2017 Casa Flora finally opens its door: a large house in the heart of Venice, a space that is open, unique, to inhabit, work and socialize in, a home to experience the most beautiful city in the world feeling Venetian for a few days.

Casa Flora is an Italian-design apartment, completely custom made that welcomes travelers with the comforts of a boutique hotel but at the same time, the freedom of a private home.

ROOMS
The Hotel offers forty rooms characterised by original period furniture, damask tapestry and Murano Glass chandeliers. Charming and comfortable rooms where guests can experience a magical and old-fashioned atmosphere. Superior rooms overlook the internal garden or the private courtyard of Palazzo Contarini.

Triple and Family rooms are also available. In our rooms you will find the finest Italian quality: Simmons beds, luxury bath and bed linens by Rivolta Carmignani and toiletry sets by Ortigia Sicilia. All rooms feature air conditioning and free Wi Fi connection.

MAGICAL GARDEN
The internal courtyard reveals a magical, verdant enchanting garden, an absolute delight for the guests’ eyes and spirit. This is the perfect place where guests can relax whilst reading a good book or just listening to the muffled sound of the city, which can still be perceived in the background.

Our garden will welcome you to enjoy your breakfast in the summer, to have a drink or have lunch. A rare gem in Venice, which we have been cultivating with love for over fifty years.

THE BREAKFAST
We don’t know whether there is a recipe for happiness but we certainly know that our original and delicious homemade breakfast, served outside in our garden in fine weather, a haven of peace in the heart of the city, will make your day begin a pleasant way.

Local regional food products from local market places accompanied by our fresh homemade daily baked cakes and the not to be missed Italian coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate served by Stefano, Cristian, Khelum and Lucia. What else do you need?

THE BAR
The Hotel Flora bar and garden are special places to relax in after a hard day of work or pleasure in Venice. Whether you choose to settle down in the cosy bar inside, amid the warm fabrics lining the walls and the velvet, retro-style furnishings, or outside in our garden, a haven of peace in the heart of the city, our barman Vinicio will be there to take care of you.

You can choose from a wide selection of infusions for afternoon tea, a wine list made up exclusively of labels from our region, the finest whiskeys and liqueurs and a menu of the most well-known cocktails.

EVENTS
In the last few years we have opened the doors of our garden to art exhibitions, intimate concerts, installations and events. We love to see it as an enlivened, happy place, where events happen, people feel good and have fun. FAMILY FRIENDLY HOTEL
Looking for a family friendly hotel in Venice? Children are welcome at the Hotel Flora. We have a wide choice of bedrooms that can suit people who are travelling with children, including dedicated family rooms and family suites.

All family rooms offer baby cots, highchairs changing table, if required. A stroller will be at your disposal during your stay. Kids tea is served daily (and included in the room rate). Pre-bookable baby-sitting service is also available.

Agreed restaurant in the area offers also a special menu for children at a very affordable price. We also invite you to ask for our Little Needs Form to order in advance anything that may be needed from baby wipes to nappies to disposable bibs.
