Wals, a legendary community next to the city of Salzburg. Many traditional farms grow countless varieties of fresh, crisp vegetables on large fields, providing the city as well as the entire region with healthy vitamin-rich produce. Rural idyll – on the one hand.

On the other hand, it is also only a stone’s throw from Salzburg’s historic old town, airport, exhibition center, outlet center, stadium and Hangar 7. In terms of location, we are ideally connected – and hence, NATURALLY URBAN.

NATURALLY URBAN, close to the city and close to nature. We love and appreciate the beautiful nature surrounding us – so it makes sense that we do our part to take care of it. This is why we place such a high priority on natural, regional and sustainably produced products.

We care about energy efficiency and have an appreciative, resource-saving focus on the use of water, food and other consumergoods throughout the hotel. These things are important to us, so this is how we live – every single day.

We clean primarily with steam devices, which disinfect up to 99.9%, so that we can largely do without chemical cleaning agents. We have also eliminated the useof plastic straws and PET bottles as well as one-way bathing slippers (flip flops can be purchased at the reception for a small fee).

During our renovations, we took care to ensure that our trees, which were up to 90 years old, were not disturbed. To make sure that our beautiful maple tree will continue to be around for many more years, we simply built our pool lounge around it.

What is it, exactly, that makes our rooms so inviting? Perhaps it’s all the natural materials, the mountain-inspired colors, or even the modernly stylish look that simultaneously exudes clarity and comfort – we call it NATURALLY URBAN. Be our guest; leave life’s ‘day-to-day’ behind you and feel at home with us.

Dining
Sociable togetherness, interesting conversations and a good kitchen – these are the principles of our culinary goal at the GERL. A classic basis with a modern twist taking inspiration from all parts of the world.

For all appetites, whether schnitzel, burger or bowl, our menu has the right dish to satisfy every preference. We put the highest priority on freshness, as well as home-made and regionally produced products of top quality. And you can taste it!

Meals from our evening kitchen are prepared Tuesday to Saturday from 06:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and can be enjoyed the in the cozy ambience of our restaurant or in our lobby, lounge or hotel bar.

On Sundays and Mondays we alternatively offer our snack menu from 02:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with dishes that vary with the seasons.

BBQ
The pleasures of grilling, but without having to do any of the preparation or clean up – that’s the dream we’ve brought to life in our stylish fire lounge in the garden when the wheather is nice from April to October.

We provide everything needed for the perfect BBQ, leaving you to enjoy the actual grilling and its results all to yourself. Or, for those who prefer, just spend a cozy evening hour or two by the fire. Birthdays, family or company celebrations have never been so casual and relaxed!

Poke Kitchen
The very latest in food trend comes from Hawaii and is called Poke: Fresh, healthy ingredients are combined into summery, light dishes.

With this as our inspiration, we offer a variety of delicious Poke bowls in GERL’s View Club from May to October from noon to 07:30 p.m. Just the right kind of replenishment after a sauna or fitness training without putting too much strain on the body.

The Spa
Relax in the sauna and swim in the pool – or simply enjoy the beach flair on your lounge chair under the palm trees. You can do yoga in the garden or work out in the exercise room. Sip refreshing cocktails or let yourself be pampered with our light Poke cuisine. It’s simple – do whatever you feel like doing.

Our indoor pool with bio sauna, the outdoor pool and garden for families and GERL’s View Club (from 21 years of age) are included in the room price, and can also be enjoyed by day guests.

Those who prefer a bit more exclusivity can book our PRIVATE SPA: just for yourself, for a couple or together with friends. By request, we can even offer a customized pampering program with massages and a variety of other treatments.

Indoor Pool & Clothed Sauna
Enjoy the feeling. Relax. Let your mind wander and really pamper your body for once – you have come to the right place for that.

Find complete relaxation in our indoor pool with a water temperature of 30° C (86° F), in the bio sauna or in our relaxing hanging lounge chairs. In addition, our unheated outdoor pool and beautiful sun garden are available from mid-April thru November.

How about a refreshing swim? In the heat of the summer there isn’t much that feels better than a dip in our outdoor pool.

Swim a few lengths in the morning before breakfast or refresh tired legs in the evening – simply incomparable! Lie back in a lounge chair and idly dream away – for a few minutes, or a few hours… and let everyday life drift very, very far away.

We love it when there is real life happening around us. It’s never totally quiet here anyway. But as parents ourselves, we know that you need a break from time to time.

Our GERL’s View Club is a “21+ only” area where adults can be completely among themselves. A nice break for the parents can be all it takes to bring a fresh wind of energy and enthusiasm into the family vacation. Here you will find:

You can even book the spa area without being a hotel guest (a reservation is required in either case). Fruit and drinks are included in the price. A retreat from everyday life providing exceptional relaxation for body and soul!

Massages & Treatments
Loosen up tense muscles or massage away stress and concerns – a massage is good for both body and soul. Let yourself be pampered by our qualified therapists and recharge your batteries! A natural herbal massage promotes internal and external healing, strength and vitality.

The special atmosphere of the areas around our pool and fire lounge makes these ideal for small team meetings. Our activities room in GERL’s View Club is the best way to get both body and mind warmed up and ready for a productive meeting session.

Museum Of Modern Art
The Museum of Modern Art in Salzburg is not only worth a visit because of the diversity of its exhibits, but also for its unique location on the Mönchsberg mountain. Its interesting architecture and “something special” restaurant with a wonderful over-the-city terrace is inspiring to say the least.

Casino Salzburg
The casino in the Klessheim Palace offers fortune seekers the opportunity to try their luck daily from 11:00am in the slot machine area, and 4:00pm at the tables for live games. A very promising evening can be had with the ‘Dinner & Casino’ offer which includes a 4-course meal before making your play for the big money.

Mozart’s birth house
The birthplace of the famous Salzburg composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is located in the middle of the Getreidegasse pedestrian street, in the heart of the beautiful old town. The Mozart family lived here from 1747 to 1773. Today the former residence is a museum and is open daily from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Hohensalzburg Fortress
Towering over the roofs of the city, the Hohensalzburg Fortress can be reached by foot or by funicular. Enjoy the spectacular view, visit one of the museums or simply wander and explore all that lies inside the fortress walls from times long past – here you have the choice!

Krimml Waterfalls
The famous Krimmler waterfalls are a popular destination. They are among the highest waterfalls in the world, dropping 380 m (1,246 feet). Visitors can enjoy this natural spectacle from mid-April to October.

Mozart bicycle track
This path not only connects many important point of interest in the life of Mozart, but also provides the more serious biker with a wonderful landscape – from the lakes in the Salzkammergut to the Chiemsee lake in Baveria.

Golf in Salzburg
A true pearl among Salzburg’s golf courses, golf course at Klessheim offers guests a fantastic 9-hole course with an almost family-like atmosphere.

Its central location right next to the Klessheim Palace and the redesign completed in 2000 leave nothing more to be desired. Additional golf courses near Salzburg can be found at Golf Club Salzburg.

Specialty goods beer
Even the most demanding beer lovers will have their expectations met in Salzburg: whether in the traditional Augustiner Bräu, on a tour of the Stiegls brewery or while enjoying a tall ‘white’ beer in one of the many outdoor-seating guest gardens. In each case, expect a very refreshing pleasure.

Thermal baths
The nearby health & wellness resorts of the RupertusTherme, the Watzmann thermal baths and the Paracelsus Bad & Kurhaus offer wellness and relaxation. Here you can relax after an active vacation day and restore depleted energy levels. Open daily from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

Climbing
The challenging sport of climbing is becoming increasingly popular. Climbing walls and climbing gardens offer an all-round training of muscles, balance and concentration in equal measure.

Especially children love moving over and along stone surfaces or between tall trees and rock formations. Located nearby, the the climbing tower Rif and the climbing park in Anif each invite you to enjoy a day of adventurous activity as part of your vacation.
