GREY GLACIER NAVIGATION
The navigation to Grey Glacier is one of the excursions that you cannot miss during your visit to Torres del Paine National Park. This three-hour journey aboard our boat, Grey III, lets you enjoy an unparalleled landscape, composed of floating icebergs, lush vegetation, and magnificent mountains.

With our services, you will navigate in a comfortable and modern boat to Grey Glacier, where you will have spectacular views of radiant, blue ice, floating icebergs in turquoise-grey water, feel the Patagonian wind on your face, and share a unique and unforgettable experience with friends and family.

On your way to visit the glacier, you will also enjoy views of Paine Grande Mountain, Paine Massif, forests that border the lake, mountains made of igneous rock, and snowy peaks that reach the clouds. If you are lucky, you will see and hear pieces of glacier ice detach and fall into the water.

EXCURSIONS
To enjoy all the wonders that the National Park Torres del Paine has, Lago Grey Hotel has a team of tour guides who offer various excursions such as sailing the Grey Glacier, trekking into the park and tours by vehicles, to help you enjoy the main attractions. All excursions make it possible to come in full contact with nature, discovering every corner of flora and fauna of the Chilean Patagonia.

GREAT WATERFALL & HORNS LOOKOUT
We will drive about 45 minutes to the parking area of the Great Fall viewpoint. From that place, we start a simple trek. The landscape is of the Patagonian steppe, where it predominates, the calafate (Berberis Microphyla), The Mata Barrosa (Mulinum Spinosum) and the marked burnt forests of Lengas (Nothofagus Pumilio) and Ñirres (Nothofagus Antarctica), that were burnt in the fire in 2011.

We arrive at a viewpoint with an impressive view of Lake Nordenskjöld, with the Horns of the Paine behind in all their magnitude. Also to the left, we have an excellent view to Big Paine Mountain and to the right to Admiral Nieto.

Back on the trail, we take a detour on the last stretch of our route and pass through one of the park’s main waterfalls, the imposing Great Fall. After visiting, we go back to the Van and return to the hotel. The return leg lasts approximately 45 min.

CONDOR LOOKOUT
We will drive about 45min towards the center of Torres del Paine National Park, where we begin our hike. It is a simple trek with a maximum height of 400 m.a.s.l, starting at 45 m.a.s.l. There is an incredible view of the Paine River and Lake Pehoé, with it’s turquoise colors facing the magnificent Paine Range.

At the top of this viewpoint, with some luck, it is possible to see Condors. As a platform for taking off, juvenile condors are taught by their parents to undertake the flight or many times to rest on days that are not so windy in the conglomerate formations that originated there. After the descent we return to the hotel.

CHORRILLO SALMONES
We will walk from our hotel towards Pingo River to start our trek on a flat path with slights ascents and descents. After a couple of minutes we will enter in a forest with view towards Big Paine and Cordón Olguín.

An hour and a half later, will arrive at the viewpoint of “Chorrillo Los Salmones” named for the salmons which are possible to see descending downstream the waterfall. It is important to mention that this area is only possible to be visited with a certified hotel guide because its forest has not been affected by the last fires inside the park.

FERRIER MOUNT
This is an excellent option to see most of the National Park being close to the hotel. First we will ascend the challenging path that leads to the Ferrier viewpoint; The path is very steep approximately 60 ° elevation and altitude is gained quickly (700 m.a.s.l). First we will cross the river before reaching the always windy viewpoint.

Then we will enter a beautiful forest of Lengas (Nothofagus Pumilio). Here we will have spectacular panoramic views of the Glacier Grey and the icebergs floating on the lake, Paine Range, Paine River, Toro Lake, Pingo Glacier, among others. The descent is by the same path. This time only downhill, and then return to the hotel.

MISCELLANEOUS TRAIL
Suitable for almost everyone. This is a great alternative for passengers who have a couple of free hours and want to enjoy an interesting and eye- catching short trek within Torres del Paine National Park. This trail is located next to Administración CONAF, which is about 30 minutes driving from Hotel Lago Grey.

There you will have a panoramic view of the amazing Paine Massif to the north and also the great “Toro” lake (which is the biggest lake in region) to the south. The interesting and historic facts together with a rich diversity of plants and birds make this excursion a great opportunity to enjoy and learn about the area at the same time.
