Hôtel Les Mouettes has a renowned place in Ajaccio’s history as one of Corsica’s first luxury hotels. Called the Hostellerie de la Grande Bleue when it was built in 1930, it took on its current name in 1954, and has been hosting prestigious guests ever since.

In addition to an indoor space comprised between 30 and 35 square metres (320-375 sq. ft.), each suite offers a large terrace or private loggia, with an outdoor lounge and sun loungers.
PRIVILEGE ROOM
Located on the upper floors, the Privilege Rooms offer a panoramic view of the Mediterranean Sea. The decor is lavish yet comfortable; it exudes elegance, with a personal feel. In addition to an indoor area comprised between 25 and 30 square metres (270-320 sq. ft.), each Privilege Room has a large private terrace or loggia with a sun-filled outdoor lounge area.
DINING
A Terrazza is located on our panoramic terrace overlooking the Med, and offers a fine-dining, generous, locally-sourced and inspired cuisine. Open everyday for Dinner. Our casual-chic trattoria, A Terrazzina, is open on the same premises everyday for Lunch.
Corsican-Italian Alessandro Capone, named Best Young Chef by the Gault-Millau France Guide in 2019, brings to your table his talentuous savoir-faire in assembling flavours, as well as his in-depth knowledge of Corsica and the Mediterranean’s best seasonal products and producers. In addition, a light fare menu is available at the restaurant every afternoon, as well as later on for in-room dining.

EXCEPTIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Just a few minutes from the hotel are the spectacular Grand Site de la Parata and the Sanguinaires Islands and the great pristine beach of Capo di Feno, two classified nature reserves at the gates of the city, and just a few minutes from the hotel.

The Ajaccio Bay is famous for its many fine sandy beaches with turquoise waters. The most beautiful ones are nearby: Capo di Feno, Terre Sacrée, Marinella… to name but a few.
Almost every beach, wild or “domesticated”, has its own beach restaurant where you can have lunch and drinks. Upon request, we will prepare a bottle of wine or champagne and appetizers for you to enjoy the sunset with your feet in the sand.
STROLLING IN AJACCIO
Just a stone’s throw from the hotel, the Mediterranean at its best: Ajaccio’s old port and its fishermen’s boats, the Genoese architecture and the colourful streets of the old centre and the colourful market stalls…
Stroll through the streets of Ajaccio and discover its charming boutiques. Let yourself be tempted by an outfit or a coral ornament, find the ideal souvenir to take away: to please yourself or to please others. Stop at a lively café terrace or at an authentic restaurant to observe a generous and warm city.
Once the sun goes down, a few places welcome night owls to relive party moments. The city’s Casino welcomes the more adventurous. Here again, we will be able to advise you on the best places to go to experience the city like a local, for an evening or a few days’ escapade.
CULTURAL BREAKS
The Palais Fesch – Musée des Beaux-Arts, houses, among other things, one of the finest European collections of early Italian and Renaissance paintings. The Maison Bonaparte, the birthplace of Napoleon I, contains a major collection of personal effects, furniture and historical documents that belonged to the emperor.
The Marc Petit Museum, located in the Lazaret, offers a very fine collection of the school of Corsican painters from the beginning of the 20th century, as well as temporary exhibitions of a high standard.
GREEN COUNTRYSIDE
