It is important for us to satisfy the wishes of our guests and make their holiday variegated. Our hotel is surrounded by the orchards of Lana and is the ideal starting point for mountain bike tours, hiking and climbing – the host Paul Überbacher will be glad to give advices and suggestions about hiking paths and tours in Lana and surrounding area.

THE TEAM
We, of the family Überbacher, live and work together in this house since three generations. Since its foundation, the owners of the hotel follow the philosophy of tradition and hospitality, which has not changed over decades.

“Holidays among friends” – these words are still valid today when we welcome every single guest in our hotel. The place that we want to offer is familiar, traditional, and at the same time, authentic and innovative.

Pleasure is our motto: relaxation, rest, excellent culinary and individual proposals for the free time are the principal elements to pass a unique holiday and are important in the Hotel Pfeiss.

THE PHILOSOPHY
When we talk about the philosophy of our hotel, we define it whit a unique sentence “Pleasure among friends“. This is the principle that we want to maintain also in the reality.

Here, the pleasures are represented by the excellent culinary, an ideal wines assortment, quiet and moments of relaxation in our wellness area, funny excursions and a cordial and familiar atmosphere – all that can make unique the stay of our hosts.

We put much engagement to achieve each objective in our work. We want to introduce you briefly our family: Erika and Paul are the principal forces of our Hotel Pfeiss.

THE HISTORY
In 1988, Erika has decided to follow the footprints of his parents, together with his husband Paul, taking in management the hotel. At the present, Erika follows with care the preparation of the different activities, so as in kitchen and in the service.

Paul is always at disposal of the hosts to give advice and suggestions, for example for the excursions or in the tastings of wines. He is’ the reference person and realises always the numerous requests.

Daniel is the chef our hotel and belongs to CookArt. The international association of chefs – was founded to interpret in an innovative way the cuisine of South Tyrol and to give support and motivation to the young cooks.

When Daniel is not present in kitchen or behind the bar of the hotel, he is certainly at some event of CookArt. Besides, Daniel is responsible for the activity of marketing of our hotel and is in the position of becoming the future boss.

Stefanie is responsible for the reception and gives her help during the evening service. Also, when events are booked, Stefanie is your competence interlocutor and is always ready to listen to your requests.

Maria and Josef erected our house on the Pfeiss meadow in 1964. Until 1988, the two founders managed the hotel with dedication and engagement. Thanks to the tasty local kitchen and the cordial hospitality, they became popular in a short space of time.

Many guests from close and far have always returned willingly to visit them. Many local guests come by us still today. Erika, their daughter, manages the guesthouse with her husband Paul Überbacher since 1988.

In 2000, we finished the construction of a biggest structure, where we have respected the expectations of our habitual guests. In the meantime, the children, Stefanie and Daniel have started to help us, as a good family tradition. That is why we have decided to transform our house into a hotel in 2012.

We decided together with the whole family to reach the four-stars-category. We want to ensure to our guests greater rest, pleasure and culinary highlights. This change has foreseen a renovation and has also, widened the services offer for our habitual guests.

Even if our house has undergone a transformation during the years, the most important aspect has never changed. We are always a familiar house with the relaxed atmosphere. In which we hope that everyone can feel comfortable and take a rest.

THE AMBIENCE
The Hotel Pfeiss is located between the intact and luxuriant nature of the village Lana. You will enjoy this magnificent natural and quiet world directly in front of our hotel. Our wide garden is a green oasis of rest and recreation.

It is important for us to use fresh products, which we select with care. In the restaurant of the Hotel Pfeiss the ingredients come from biological and regional cultivation.

The spices and the aromatic grasses, that make our recipes tasty, are cultivated in the little vegetable garden of our hotel. Enjoy a first class gourmet experience with the unique tastes of the traditional specialties and the original creations of our kitchen!

THE SAUNA

Lana is situated at the beginning of the Ulten Valley also between two big urban centers of Bozen and Meran. The ski area offers perfectly groomed pistes of all levels of difficulty as well as a 25 km long net of snowshoe hiking routes. Also, you can speed down into the valley on a toboggan run and marvel at the overwhelming winter scenery and the fascinating panoramic view.

Over 13 restaurants offer you culinary delight, traditional delicacies and international dishes too. Whoever seeks new challenges and wants to master demanding and difficult descents, should pay a visit to the Schwemmalm skiing area.

It is approximately 30 minutes away from the Hotel Pfeiss and even six pistes are classified as medium difficult to difficult. Again and again the training of the Norwegian and American national ski-team and of the superstars Axel Lund Svindal and Linsey Vonn is carried out here.

A popular hiking trail is situated on the high plateau Tschögglberg in the natural park Texel Group. BIKING
Biking in and around Lana is an incomparable experience. Countless cycling paths make Lana in the Etsch Valley an ideal destination for pleasure-seeking hobby bikers, mountain bikers as well as for racing cyclists.

You can explore the quiet and peaceful landscape or pedal hard on demanding cycling paths up into the high mountains. In order to escape the street noises you can follow many easy and beautiful cycling paths through the Etsch Valley, for example the Falschauerdamm through the ancient Passeiser Valley to St. Leonhard.

Furthermore, there is a wonderful biking route along green meadows from Meran to the city of Bozen, 20 km away. Another popular itinerary is the Weinstraße through the vineyards and orchards of the Etsch Valley, or the cycling trail of the Val Venosta along the Etsch river from Reschen to Meran.

Race biking: Bicycle racers will enjoy the excellent road network in Lana and its surroundings: demanding, winding mountain passes, such as the Gampen Pass, the Jaufenpass, the Timmelsjoch or the Stelvio Pass. Here you can test your endurance and master more sporting challenges.

Mountain biking: Over uneven forest roads and narrow trails up to mountain pastures and mountain peaks – mountain biking in Lana and its surroundings is truly wonderful.
