Hotel Regina Louvre is opposite the Louvre Museum and overlooks the tranquil Tuileries Garden so guests can get to some top attractions including the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, the Trocadéro, the Invalides, the Orsay Museum… in minutes.

Come and explore the historic city of Paris while enjoying the elegance of a remarkable five-star hotel. Combining a subtle blend of traditional French elegance and contemporary comfort, every room in the hotel has been loving restored to its 19th century splendour.

Run by the fourth generation of the same Parisian family, Hotel Regina is both chic and unique. For several years, the Hotel Regina has been regularly awarded with several prizes.

Creation of the Hotel Regina Paris Company
Established in 1898, the Hôtel Regina Paris company tasked the architect Armand Sibien with converting the residential building it had recently acquired.

The building work didn’t alter the façades with their existing archways, where the famous riding school established by Antoine de Pluvinel, the principal squire for kings Henri III and Henri IV, once stood instead.

Constant Baverez and his associate, both avid art enthusiasts, brought together the most talented artists and craftsmen of the day to create their hotel. The hotel is decorated with scrolls, mosaics, stained-glass windows, carved wooden window frames and decorative panelling.

Crystal chandeliers and wall lights were expressly created for the hotel. The hallways were tiled with the now famous green ceramic tiles. Specially designed staircase newel posts are completely in keeping with Art Nouveau style.

Opening of the Regina Hotel
Opened in 1900, at the same time as the Paris Exposition Universelle, the hotel’s success was incredible, and an expansion soon became necessary. To the main building, dating from the Second Empire, located at the corner of the rue de Rivoli, two buildings were added in 1911 and 1912 on the rue des Pyramides.

Rented with a leasehold agreement, these buildings allowed the hotel to expand all the way to the rue Saint-Honoré. Here, Armand Sibien built an opulent stone façade five storeys high, which is still there today, although this building is no longer part of the hotel.

On the ground floor of this new building was the dining room with its extravagant Art Nouveau décor, which we know today only through old photographs.

Total renovation of the hotel
It was at the start of the 21st century that work began at the Hôtel Regina Paris to renovate the roof. These improvements quickly turned into a complete restoration of the hotel. And so yet again, the Baverez family didn’t do things by halves!

During this building work, all the original decorative features were kept. Unfortunately, some of these could not be reused for their original purpose and so have been kept merely as a decoration and a souvenir of the spirit and soul of this unique place.

For example, the lift, with its magnificent paned glass and carved wooden mouldings, has become purely decorative. The Louis XV-styling revisited in the Art Nouveau period is the quintessential charm of the Hôtel Regina.

In 2015, the year of its 115th anniversary, the Hôtel Regina completed the building’s restoration and obtained its 5th star.

Unique Views
Last remaining example of an Art Nouveau hotel in Paris; it offers guests a unique experience. Rooms and suites at the front of the building have the most beautiful views of Paris over the Tuileries garden and the Eiffel Tower.

Guests can also admire the Louvre Museum, only a few metres away, the Musée d’Orsay, the Assemblée Nationale and the Grand Palais from these rooms and suites.

The famous Parisian Suite on the 7th floor not only offers these panoramic views, but thanks to a second terrace, also affords views of the Sacré-Cœur cathedral!

Serving Customers

The Hôtel Regina is forward-thinking in its focus upon guest comfort. It is, for example, the only Parisian hotel to have won the ‘Hotel Quiet Room’ award which is the guarantee of a perfectly sound-proofed room.

The hotel’s international renown is supported by an attentive team who are on hand to help. From the front reception service, through the team members on the floors and at the restaurant and bar, all members of staff have one single objective: guest well-being.

Innovation is continuous. For example, in upcoming weeks, guests will be able to open the door to their room with their smartphone.

An Iconic Place
A haven of calm, luxury and comfort, the Hôtel Regina hides its Belle Epoque charm behind a grand neoclassic façade. Its location on the rue de Rivoli, at the corner of the place des Pyramides, is one of the most prestigious: The hotel is across from the Louvre’s Marsan Pavillion and the Tuileries garden.

Its incredible location is part of the reason the Hôtel Regina has had such a prestigious clientèle over the years. Discretion does not allow guests to be named, however amongst the famous guests in times past are Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, and later, Walt Disney.

Jeanne Moreau and Charles Aznavour have sung here… The unique décor has seduced more than one film director. It’s here that Swann in Love was filmed, directed by Volker Schlöndorf and with an exceptional cast including Jeremy Irons, Alain Delon, Ornella Muti, Fanny Ardant, Marie-Christine Barrault…

At The Service Of Cinema & Fashion

The unique décor has seduced more than one film director. It’s here that Swann in Love was filmed, directed by Volker Schlöndorf and with an exceptional cast including Jeremy Irons, Alain Delon, Ornella Muti, Fanny Ardant, Marie-Christine Barrault.

More recently, the Hôtel Regina has been a film location for scenes from La Douleur, based on Marguerite Duras’ memoir and starring Mélanie Laurent, as well as Mission Impossible 5 starring Tom Cruise.
