• Finnish garden sauna: The 95 °C log cabin sauna in the outdoor area offers space for up to around 10 persons and is accessible directly from the spa area. There is a separate shower in the outdoor sauna.
• Bio-sauna: Our bio-sauna has a comfortable temperature of approx. 60 °C. The bio-sauna is finished with genuine old timber and offers space for up to 8 persons.
• Infrared cabin: There is a fantastic view of the lower Ötztal from the infrared sauna. It offers space for 2 persons.
• Steam bath: The aroma steam bath with modern natural stone tiles and lighting in changing colours offers perfect relaxation. A combination of heat and moisture takes away all the tension and also has a cleansing effect.
• Ice fountain: Freshly produced ice flakes to rub on your body complete any proper sauna session.
• Rainfall showers: For a particularly refreshing experience.

PANORAMIC INDOOR POOL

THE WINTER TIME
The magic of the winter landscape cannot be expressed in words. The Ötztal mountains are covered in deep snow in the winter months. 6 skiing areas and 2 glacier skiing areas await you.

Alpine skiers race down the mountains, while ski tourers work their way slowly upwards. There are also beautiful winter hiking routes, or you can enjoy the peaceful winter surroundings while snowshoeing.

HIKING
1,000 km of walking and hiking trails in Ötztal. With excellent signposting to ensure you enjoy every minute of your walking holiday. The wild and romantic Auerbachklamm and viewing platforms at the Stuibenfall waterfall.

Beautiful lakes such as the Habicher See and Piburger See. 100 mountain huts as a perfect hiking destination, such as the Hohe Mut Alm and Zirbenalm. Topic-based hikes, extended summit tours, e.g. from Ötz to the Wetterkreuz, or short walks in the Ötztal Nature Park … Whatever your walker’s heart desires.

Hike to hamlets, a fabled “devil’s forge” and the wild Auerklamm ravine. Allow a time of around 3.5 hours for this tour from Oetz to Ebene, on to Oetzerau and Klingenberg and back to Oetz.

You can also choose a shorter route of 1.5 hours and then walk from Oetzerau (Auenstein ruin) over the wooden bridge, along the Auerklamm to the starting point, the information point for the Ötztal Nature Park in Ambach.

Starting from the Ritzlerhof, a 20-minute walk follows a magical path to the Piburger See in the Achstürze-Piburger See nature conservation area.

Created originally as a result of a rockfall, the warmest mountain bathing lake in Tyrol impresses with its majestic surroundings and a view of the lower Ötztal mountains. Various routes are possible, ranging from an easy walk (around 1 h) up to an extended tour over the Wellerbrücke of Ötztaler Ache to Ötz (around 2.5 h).

Day-dreaming at the mountain hut … From Längenfeld it is just a short ascent, around 45 minutes, to the high plateau on which the Brandalm gives an impression of life high above the valley in a picture-book setting.

Besides getting to know the animals – pot-bellied pigs, goats, ducks and rabbits live here – you can also delight in the fantastic view of valley floor below you at an altitude of 1,385 m. Combine your hike with a snack at the Brandalm. The walk starts in Längenfeld at the Fischbachbrücke.

If you want to extend your hike a little, we recommend the Längenfeld suspension bridge, which is an impressive 83 m long. This section of the route is also straightforward, but you should not be scared of heights, because the bridge is 220 m above the “Mauer Rinne”. The walking time from Längenfeld with suspension bridge is around 3 hours.

What a view from the Feldringalm: the Inntal, the Miemingerkette, Lechtaler Alps, Stubai Alps and Ötztal Alps offer an outstanding panorama. For a short hike, we recommend an easy circular tour from the Sattele walking car park in Ochsengarten up to the Feldringalm – a rustic mountain hut where you can take a break for food and drink – and back again (around 1.5 h).

The tour is more demanding if you continue walking from the Feldringalm to the Faltegartenköpfl summit at 2,184 m, returning from there along the Bettlersteig route (around 3,.5 h).

BIKING
Over 850 km of mountain bike trails in Ötztal: Bike up to summits and from hut to hut. Ride through the 63 km long Ötztal towards the Acherkogel or into the valley on the Ötztal cycle path.

And immerse yourself in nature with your bike, on a bike tour to the Piburger See, for example. Ötztal has received multiple awards as an Approved Bike Area, the highest seal of quality seal for bike destinations.

E-BIKING
Equipped with a powerful Bosch CX motor and a 500Wh battery, long distances and ascents in the Ötztal are no problem at all. Enjoy the design, sportiness and agility of the e-bikes, whether riding on mountain trails with the extra-wide tyres and suspension fork or normally on the road through the Ötztal.

5 e-bikes with different frame sizes are available for hire in the Hotel Ritzlerhof. We recommend asking about e-bike availability in advance.

5 TOWN ROUTE
Discover the places around the Hotel Ritzlerhof by bike. On this 27 km long tour (from Oetz) you will discover 5 places in the lower Ötztal. You can also start the circular tour in Sautens and first ride to Roppen and from there along the river Inn to Haiming.

The return route is via Ötztal railway station and along the river Ache to Sautens. And if you want to do the whole tour, continue from Sautens on the Beerweg along the Ache to Oetz and then return in a loop to Sautens.

AMBERGER HUTTE MOUNTAIN HUT 
You start the 24 km long trail in Längenfeld. The route on your e-bike or mountain bike starts with a winding ascent. You continue via Nisslalm and Sulztalalm through the ever narrower valley.

You reach the Amberger Hütte at an altitude of 2,136 m at the end of the Sulztal. Here you can take a break and enjoy something to eat and drink surrounded by the peaks of the Stubai Alps before starting on your return journey.

OETZ SEEJOCHL PIBURG
You can also adapt this around 11 km circular tour and ride from the Ritzlerhof on the forest track to Haderlehn and then on to the Seejöchl. You can then continue your tour to the beautiful Piburger See. You then bike on the Elsinger Weg down to Oetz, from there along the river Ache to Sautens, and then back up to the Ritzlerhof.

BIKE REPUBLIC SOLDEN
An attraction for bike fans for many years already. With its numerous routes, Sölden has been insider tip among single trail destinations for a long time. With the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN, an unmistakable brand has been created based on a clear vision.

This is clearly differentiated from other bike parks due to its extensive area, a wide range of varied trails and Tyrol’s largest pump track. The unique Ötztal dialect was also not forgotten – every republic has its own language, and the same is also true for the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN.

SKIING
In winter, the Alps are covered in deep snow in Ötztal. And the winter sun shines brightly on the Hochoetz ski area, one of the 5 sunniest ski regions in Austria. Pistes with a total length of 39 kilometres await you here for a sunny ski holiday, all with snow cannons and therefore with a snow guarantee.

That calls for a skiing holiday, exploring the different runs on skis or a snowboard all day long until the sun goes down. And sometimes even longer … There are also a number of other ski areas in Ötztal near Sautens.

During your ski holiday with us in Ötztal you can reach the Hochoetz ski area with the Acherkogelbahn from Oetz and also from Haiming-Ochsengarten. The choice of pistes ranges from narrow forest runs through to wide, open slopes. The free racing run next to the Brunnenkopf piste and the Hochoetz fun park offer sporty challenges.

The Skiline app is also free – this allows you to track your skiing day in the Hochoetz ski area, providing data on covered vertical metres and number of runs. The Hochoetz ski region has been nominated as a top ski region by Skiresort.de, the world’s largest test portal for ski resorts.

The highest winter sports resort in Austria is located 7 km further on in the Stubai Alps at an altitude of 2,020 m: Kühtai. The pistes in the Kühtai ski area are also included in the ski pass for Hochoetz. If you drive by car from our Ritzlerhof ski hotel to Kühtai, you can park free of charge as a day skier.

Alternatively, you can also reach the Kühtai ski area by taking the Acherkogelbahn up to the Hochoetz ski area, skiing down the valley run to Ochsengarten and then taking the free ski bus to Kühtai.

SOLDEN SKI AREA
This is one of the highest-altitude ski areas in Austria and is the largest in Ötztal. The glacier ski areas can also be accessed from the winter ski areas with a total piste length of 144 kilometres. Most pistes in the ski area are at high altitude.

On the longest run – from the BIG3 platform Schwarze Schneide to the Gaislachkogl valley station – skiers cover a descent of almost 2,000 m and a distance of 15 km. The most difficult run is the World Cup piste on the Rettenbach glacier. Sölden is a lively ski resort and is renowned for its après-ski parties.

WINTER ACTIVITIES
Silence, snow and crisp winter air. Time to pause and reflect away from the piste. The landscape takes on a fairytale appearance when the Piburger See freezes over in winter. You can experience even more magical moments while on a winter hike or when snowshoeing.

And if you want to explore the area on skis away from the pistes, you can also choose from many ski tours Ötztal. Cross-country skiers can glide through the valley on 143 km of trails.

One of the most beautiful trails is located directly here at the entrance to Ötztal: the 3 km circular trail near Haiming-Ochsengarten. And when tobogganing, you will shout for joy as the toboggan shoots through the Tyrolean snow.

WINTER HIKING
There are 250 kilometres of signposted and prepared hiking trails in Ötztal. Forest tracks, hiking trails, paths in the valley … The natural surroundings of Ötztal create a dream-like atmosphere in winter.

Start hiking directly from the Hotel Ritzlerhof in your winter holiday to make the most of the calm winter surroundings. Wrap yourself up warm and experience the Piburger See in its wintry beauty. Or enjoy the “3-church” or “Medinger-Weg” circular hikes.

SNOWSHOE
Make new tracks in the snow. Out into the deep snow where no-one has been before. Step-by-step through the Ötztaler winter wonderland. A popular tour goes to the Faltegartenköpfl from the Sattele car park and via Marlstein. The return leg of the 9 km tour is via the Feldringalm.

During your winter holiday you can also take part in guided snowshoe hikes led by guides from Ötztal Nature Park, e.g. a moonlight tour around Ochsengarten. These tours are free of charge for guests staying at the Ritzlerhof, a partner hotel of Ötztal Nature Park.
