The Sanders Hotel is situated in the historic center of Copenhagen, just behind the Nyhavn Canal, guests are a stroll away from the royal residences of Amalienborg Palace, the old stage of the Royal Theatre, Christiansborg Palace and the Royal Danish Opera.

Lining the neighborhood’s cobbled lanes, guests will find countless quality restaurants, contemporary art galleries, museums and world class shopping. The hotel will create genuine experiences both within the hotel walls and around Copenhagen.

Comprised of 54 luxurious rooms each are singular in their style and design. A variety of accommodations have been created to suit the needs of every guest.

Single Coupé rooms are inspired from a bygone era of luxury train cabins where guests will find comfort and luxury within the intimate space. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Sanders Apartments offer the utmost in privacy and are generously spacious with separate lounge seating and open fireplaces.

Sanders Suite

Sanders suite is the ideal choice for travellers looking for a long-term stay or the possibility of entertaining guest in an apartment offering privacy, understated luxury and beautiful furniture.

The suite consists of a spacious bedroom with a king size bed, a separate lounge with an open fireplace, and a kitchenette/dining room. Furthermore there is a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate lavatory. The apartment faces the street and courtyard.

Sanders Bedroom

The Sanders bedrooms come in different sizes, and they have all been designed with their specific features in mind.

They are beautifully furnished according to the feel of the room, and all the bedrooms come with a king size bed, a plush lounge chair, and a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and lavatory. The rooms face the street or courtyard.

Double Room

A nice and intimate room with a queen size bed, offering more square metres but the same design and refined atmosphere as the Single rooms. It is the perfect bedrooms for the single traveller looking for a bit more space, or for couples looking to cosy up in a snug bedroom. The room faces the atrium.

SANDERS KITCHEN

The Sanders Kitchen is an all-day dining spot where breakfast is served for hotel guests. Transforming for lunch it becomes an unpretentious hangout for guests and locals alike.

Sanders Kitchen brings you classic dishes from all over the world, beautifully created with local organic produce and served in our comfortable homey residence.

The Restaurant

You can enjoy the food in our Kitchen, on Sanders Street or in front of a fireplace in our cosy Living Room. Pair it with drinks from our award winning cocktail bar TATA, our own beer or some of the handpicked treasures from our wine cellar.

THE ROOF TERRACE

We have a lovely glass covered Roof Terrace on the fifth floor with tranquil atmosphere and nothing but blue sky above you. A very popular scene due to its impeccable location and natural light. A preferred choice for private events and celebrations.

TATA COCKTAIL BAR

Welcome inside our award winning cocktail bar TATA. The menu features classic cocktails that have stood the test of time, served by bartenders who know their trade. In fact, they know it so well that they will surprise you with unexpected twists on the classics.

Since 1932 the historic Royal Danish Theatre has had a performer whose name and importance is known only to the performers; the red velvet curtain Tata. Every night she sets the stage for the shows at the theatre, and in an homage to that we have named our cocktail bar after her.

Our cocktail bar TATA will provide a backdrop to our guests, just like the luxurious velvet curtain does for the performers at the theatre. And just like at the theatre, TATA will create a space with vintage charm that feels intimate and seductive, comfortable and playful.

The menu features classic cocktails that have stood the test of time, served by bartenders who know their trade. In fact, they know it so well that they will surprise you with unexpected twists on the classics. A small selection of handpicked wines, bar snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and our own beers will also be available.

THE COURTYARD

The courtyard is thoughtfully decorated with greenery and hand-picked furniture, creating an inviting oasis in the heart of Sanders.

This inner sanctuary is covered and during the colder months an open wood burning fireplace is the perfect place to warm your spirits. Order food in the courtyard or just bring a drink, a blanket and a book. Open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, weather permitting.

The Courtyard can be booked for private events and celebrations. When booking TATA or Misha is it possible to have an exclusive business lunch or a private dinner at our Courtyard.

THE LIVING ROOM

Entering the hotel, you’ll find The Living Room with brimming bookshelves and an open fireplace. Here you can hang out and experience this friendly heart of the hotel and watch the comings and goings of visitors as you enjoy a coffee or cocktail.

The Living Room is equipped with an open fireplace, brimming bookshelves, vintage and bespoke furniture and appealing seating arrangements. Hang out and experience this friendly and inviting heart and soul of the hotel with a vibrant and upbeat atmosphere on weekend nights.

Enjoy a coffee or a cocktail in the comfortable chairs. Until 10 pm you can order lunch, cake or dinner – if you prefer to eat in casual, yet elegant, settings.

MISHA MEETING ROOM / PRIVATE DINING ROOM

Our meeting room and private dining room is located on the ground floor with an outlook into the beautiful Courtyard. It is available for private hire, meetings, dining occasions or just as your extended workspace for the day.

The room consists of a large communal table, ideal for group meetings and presentations, and the size is limited to create an intimate, exclusive atmosphere. One end of the room is furnished with more relaxing lounge furniture.

SANDERS PRIVATE BOAT
Exclusively for the guests at Sanders, you can experience Copenhagen from our boat, a 25 feet mahogany beauty from 1964. Your captain will take you behind the scenes and share the secrets of the city´s iconic landmarks along the harbor and experience the local life by the canals.

If you prefer not to learn about the landmarks and sites, your captain will let you cruise the canals while you enjoy a picnic basket or make a stop by one of the secluded spots before taking a swim. The tour lasts 2 hours

BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE ROYAL THEATER
The tour will take you behind the scenes at the Royal Theater and give you a fascinating tour round the backstage world of the wonderful old theater building from 1874.

You will be introduced to the history of the world famous Royal Danish Ballet and hear about the theatre now and then. You will also experience the costume tailor and end up on the center stage. The tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes

CENTER OF POWER
Within a few minutes’ walk from Sanders you will find Castle Islet (Sluseholmen) which has been the center of power in Denmark since the middle of the 1100s and includes Christiansborg Castle, housing the Danish parliament.

Royal power, politics and law have always been dictated from Castle Islet and our historian will give you a passionate introduction to the fascinating history of these stunning buildings and monuments. The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF KING CHRISTIAN 4.
In the long unbroken line of Danish sovereigns since the 900s, one stands out; King Christian 4. (1596 – 1648). During his reign he embellished Copenhagen with magnificent buildings of architectural significance, most of which are still standing.

The tour will take you past some of King Christian 4.´s most distinct buildings while you learn about his royal ambitions and how Copenhagen was transformed into a landmark city. The tour lasts for 2 hours

THE AMALIENBORG MUSEUM
The royal palace of Amalienborg serves as the daily residence for H.M. the Queen and other members of the royal family. The tour will present the fascinating story about the royal history (from the 1860’s to the early 1970’s) and the daily life at the Amalienborg Museum in Christian VIII Palace.

You will also visit the wonderful Fabergé Chamber and view a selection of unique master pieces. The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes

CHRISTIANSBORG CASTLE
The Royal Reception Rooms at Christiansborg Castle are used by the royal family for grand-scale events, state visits, the annual New Year´s receptions and other formal gatherings.

During the tour you will also learn about the 17 tapestries in the Great Hall by the Danish artist Bjørn Nørgaard, portraying pivotal periods of Danish history. The Royal Kitchens, the Palace Church and/or the Royal Stables can be included in the tour. The tour lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes

ARCHITECTURE IN COPENHAGEN LOCATED BY THE WATER AND THE LAKES
Located by the water The Foreign Ministry, by Jørn Nielsen and Halldor Gunnløgsson, connects the history of the city. The tour continues to Knippelsbro, the bridge from 1934, designed by Kaj Gottlob, and The Public Trustee’s Office designed by Frits Schlegel.

After a walk through the old part of the city with beautiful views of the hidden details the tours halts at the Detention Building erected between 1805 and 1815 and designed by C.F. Hansen and ends at the Stelling House by Arne Jacobsen. The tour lasts 2 hours

ARCHITECTURE AND NORDIC LIGHT – A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON DANISH FUNCTIONALISM
The first building of the tour is Hotel Astoria, designed by the architect Ole Falkentorp. The tour continues across the street to the office building Vesterport. It was designed by Ole Falkentorp and Povl Baumann.

Along the Lakes of Copenhagen, you will experiences the functionalistic apartment building by the architects C.F. Møller and Kay Fisker from the late 1920’s.

You will also experience the Gymnastics House by P.V. Jensen-Klint and The Betlehem’s Church which Kaare Klint finished after the death of his father P.V. Jensen-Klint. The tour ends by the office building Ørstedhus designed by Kaj Gottlob. The tour lasts 2 hours

CONTEMPORARY ART & GALLERY HOPPING
Our curator has carefully selected galleries in our neighborhood for you to explore. That art tour includes Last Resort, Gallery Asbæk, Andersen´s Contemporary or Gallery Tom Christoffersen.

You will meet the gallery owner and/or the artist, while our art guide shares insights of the internationally renowned contemporary art scene in Copenhagen.

Subject to your interest you will also experience the contemporary art scenes at Charlottenborg Kunsthal, Nikolaj Kunsthal or Kunsthallen Gammel Strand. The tour lasts 2 hours.
