As our business or private guest you can experience the unique combination of staying in a 19th-century building yet being able to avail yourself of all imaginable modern conveniences. We will receive you at this stunning establishment along the canals in an atmosphere of warmth and with full respect for your privacy and comfort.

Two magical suites, which look out over the 17th-century Prinsengracht on the front of the premises and offer breathtaking views of the canals, can be reached by taking the oak staircase. The same stairs also provide access to seven, spacious suites and rooms with a view of the Patio.

During the summers you can enjoy the elegantly laid out Patio under the old maple tree. Here, once again, the emphasis is on creating a relaxed atmosphere, a home far away from home.

THE HISTORY
Amsterdam’s 17th-century canal system is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The international recognition of the canals by UNESCO confirmed the exceptional value of the area and provided crucial support for listed buildings policy in Amsterdam’s city centre.

Amsterdam’s canals are unique as urban engineering and architectural artworks, and as the physical expression of the major economic, political and cultural fruition Amsterdam achieved during what is referred to as the Golden Age.

The building at 717 Prinsengracht was long inhabited by a wealthy sugar trader. He initially lived in the 17th-century rear house [achterhuis] which he expanded down to a residential building in 1810 by building a new house in front of it [voorhuis].

This enabled him to display his wealth to others. After the expansion, the rear house served solely as a ‘Suykermoolen’ or sugar mill. Hotel Seven one Seven opened its doors to its first guests on 8 May 1997.

VAN GOETHE SUITE
The Von Goethe suite with its sea blue walls is somewhat business-like in style and provides a view of the Patio.

SCHUBERT SUITE
The Schubert suite is a romantically furnished suite with a 19th-century beamed ceiling and five large windows that look out onto the Prinsengracht.

PICASSO SUITE
The Picasso suite is a stunning, modern room with a high ceiling. The five large windows look out over the Prinsengracht.

DICKENS SUITE
Thanks to its beautiful colour scheme and classic English style, the Charles Dickens suite, located adjacent to the Patio, has a refined atmosphere.

MEETINGS & EVENTS
Here at Hotel Seven one Seven we open up our Strawinsky room and the Library to hold meetings and other business events for those in search of a location with a touch of elegance and exclusivity.

For larger groups up to 16 people, our Strawinsky room is suitable for meetings and events in need of more space and, weather permitting, the added benefit of access to our quiet patio for a breath of fresh air.

For smaller groups up to 8 people, our Library is suitable for meetings in an elegant and relaxed atmosphere overlooking the Prinsengracht. If so desired, we can arrange to have lunch and drinks served during meetings.

You also have the opportunity to rent all necessary equipment for a successful meeting, such as a projector, a projector screen and/or flip-charts with complimentary high speed Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel.

WEDDINGS IN AMSTERDAM
Hotel Seven one Seven is a unique alternative for those looking to wed somewhere other than town hall or local council offices. The canalhouse, which dates back to the 17th century, is one of the few boutique hotels that is as intimate and warm as it is chic and exclusive.

There are two spaces at the hotel that are particularly suited for festive gatherings such as a wedding or an anniversary. Wedding photo: Sophie Lankert

AMSTERDAM CANAL DISTRICT
The canals constitute the core of Amsterdam and this is where you will find loads of shops, restaurants and culture. In 2010, UN organisation UNESCO even added the canal system to its World Heritage List. This makes the canals the ideal base to explore Amsterdam from.

Hotel Seven one Seven is located on the Prinsengracht in the centre of the canal system and ensures that you get a taster of the energetic atmosphere of both historic and present day Amsterdam! During your stay at Hotel Seven one Seven you will experience the rich history of the Netherlands with a traditional drink and snack, and an exceptional gift.
