A warm hospitality and an unspoiled landscape welcome you to the Tramonto d’Oro Hotel. We are in the center of Praiano, a fishing and coral makers village vertically built from the sea to the mountains and crossed by stairways and paths carved into the stone.

Our name evokes the peculiarity of Praiano: the only place in the Amalfi Coast where the sun goes out into the sea, giving golden and unforgettable sunsets.

We like to coddle our guests from the morning. Our breakfast is carefully prepared to start the day with “gusto” and good mood.

In our restaurant “La cucina del Tramonto d’ Oro” we offer simple and genuine recipes. Every day we are committed to satisfy the dietary everyone’s food needs. We have special menus for celiacs, vegetarians and children.

HISTORY
It was 1952 when the brothers Donato and Carmelina Esposito decided to open the Tramonto d’Oro bar and, after years of sacrifice and commitment, the restaurant and hotel too. Today, Donato’s wife, Teresa De Luca, takes care of the business with her children: Raffaele, Emilia and Carmela.

For us, the Hotel Tramonto d’Oro is more than a working place: it is part of our identity and our family. You will find our staff and us in the kitchen, at the reception or behind the bar, always ready to provide for every guest need. We love our job and we do it with passion. We are proud of our hotel.

ROOMS & SUITES
40 rooms, each one with its own style. Oh yeah: it took a lot of time to decorate them all but we had a lot of fun doing it. We have every kind of different color. In fact, on the Amalfi Coast, finding artistic inspiration is really simple. In all of rooms there are beautiful Vietri ceramics. Strictly decorated by hand.

All rooms have free Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, hairdryer, Sat-TV, heating and air conditioning with individual system, direct dial telephone, minibar, safe and a nice and comfortable bed. If something is missing just ask: we are always available for our guests.

Most of the rooms have a spectacular panorama: the sea, Li Galli Islands (reminiscent of the myth of the sirens of Ulysses), Positano and the famous Faraglioni Rocks of Capri Island. In the morning, breakfast is served until late on the terrace, in the breakfast room or in your room.

PRAIANO
Certainly one of the lesser known but most interesting destinations of the Amalfi Coast, Praiano is famous for its extraordinary panoramic views, for the numerous votive shrines and for the colorful streets that, turning into steps, reach the sea.

But it is above all its incomparable sunsets that make Praiano magical, the only town on the entire coast where the sun plunges into the sea.

Among the main attractions that you can visit in Praiano is the Church of San Gennaro, dating back to 1589, decorated with Baroque stuccoes and a colorful majolica terracotta floor. The dome of the church in white and blue majolica, now a symbol of the Coast, is very famous.

Not to be missed is a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Gavitella, a small natural cove eternally kissed by the sun, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset against the backdrop of the panorama of Positano and Capri.

Among the numerous views overlooking the sea that can be discovered climbing up and down the narrow streets of the town, you cannot miss a walk in the village of Marina di Praia, a lively beach crowned by an imposing Saracen tower.

But Praiano is not just the sea. From the town center, in fact, you can easily reach the convent of Santa Maria a Castro, where, immersed in the green of the mountains, you can connect to the Path of the Gods, one of the most beautiful nature trails in the world.

In short, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, halfway between sky and sea, Praiano is a real corner of paradise not to be missed.

LIVE THE AMALFI COAST
Choosing the most beautiful corners to visit on the Amalfi coast is a difficult task! For this reason, to help you enjoy the beauties of the Amalfi Coast to the fullest, we suggest the most famous but also hidden places to experience unforgettable emotions.

Praiano, besides having a fantastic position to admire breathtaking sunsets, is the perfect location to visit the whole coast. In fact, we are in the heart of the Amalfi Coast.

THE SURROUNDINGS
Capri has always been the most popular island for tourists. No trip to the Amalfi Coast would be complete without a visit to the most beautiful island in the Parthenopean gulf. But what are the most suggestive places to visit in one day on Capri?

Arriving on the island you can admire the mythical Faraglioni Rocks and visit the suggestive Blue Grotto. From the famous Piazzetta di Capri you can take a walk along Via Camerelle, the luxury shopping street, and end your visit in style by continuing on Via Tragara until you reach the belvedere overlooking the Faraglioni.

Do not miss the Villa San Michele in Anacapri where are the archaeological remains of the writer Axel Munthe. A unique experience is the chairlift to reach Monte Solaro where you will find a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples and Salerno.

Positano, with its houses sloping down to the sea, combines present and past with art, culture and fashion; the Roman Villa, recently found, testifies to the wonders of the past and the importance that Positano has always had over the centuries.

Furore, an enchanting village that slopes down from Lattari mountains to the sea, reaching the famous Fjord. The town is also known for the production of an excellent wine, mountain cherry tomatoes, olive oil and potatoes.

Conca dei Marini is a fisherman’s village listed among the most beautiful in Italy, where, in the seventeenth century, from the hands of the nuns of the Monastery, the “Sfogliatella Santa Rosa” cake was born. Do not miss the suggestive Emerald Grotto and the watchtower of Capo di Conca.

Agerola, starting point for the Path of the Gods, is known above all for its culinary tradition: Fiordilatte, mozzarella cheese, caciocavallo cheese, whole-wheat biscuit, taralli and Provolone del Monaco DOP cheese, produced with the milk of the Agerolese cows.

Amalfi, the first Maritime Republic, is famous for the magnificent Cathedral and the characteristic alleys that lead to the Valle dei Mulini; inside the Valley it is possible to visit the Paper Museum, which offers visitors the pleasure of reliving the production of handmade paper.

For those who want to savor the goodness of the Amalfi Coast we recommend to taste the famous lemons and Limoncello Delight, produced with I.G.P. “Sfusato Amalfitano” lemon type.

Atrani, the smallest town in Italy, is located at the mouth of the Valle del Dragone; the square is the heart of the village, from which the typical alleys start.

Ravello, city of music, so called for the concerts held in the gardens of Villa Rufolo, in a scenario unique in the world; do not miss the “terrace of infinity” of Villa Cimbrone and a visit to the wineries in the area.

Cetara, a fisherman’s village, is located in an area with a very fishy sea: in fact, it is well-known for tuna and anchovies and the famous “Colatura di Alici” sauce, a rich seasoning obtained by salting and subsequent pressing the anchovies.

Vietri sul Mare is the last town of the Amalfi Coast and the core of artistic ceramics; it is recommended to go into the narrow streets of the village to admire the splendid creations of the potters who cover the facades of churches and houses.
