The History
Operating since 2004, this small yet luxurious hotel resulted from the refurbishment of two Mallorcan stone houses dating from the 19th Century, which used to belong to the Valldemossa Carthusian Monastery
After five years of dedicated restoration work, the former s’Olivaret Estate was transformed into the peaceful haven it is today in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. Although this hotel is unique, it still retains the typical and traditional character of the area.
Travelling here with George Sand in 1838, Frédéric Chopin described it as “the most beautiful place in the world”. It is where he composed most of his preludes and she found inspiration for a novel.
Walking around the estate and immersing yourself in its rural character between the Teix and Fátima mountains, to name but two, is a serene experience. Olive and orange trees used to be the traditional crop grown here in ten cuarteradas (a Mallorcan unit measuring just over 7,000 m2).
Today, our hotel has its own kitchen garden and olive grove. They provide the olives used to make our “S’Olivar de Valldemossa” extra virgin olive oil (on sale in our restaurant — www.solivardevalldemossa.com ) and the ingredients for our delightfully exquisite dishes.

All combine a classic design with modern comforts to ensure an exclusive experience in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. The thick Mallorcan stone walls also keep them cool during summer months.
Suite
Stay in one of our largest and most romantic rooms. Just a stone’s throw away from the outdoor pool and spa, it also has a welcoming indoor lounge and a large, exclusive terrace with views of the valley and the Royal Carthusian Monastery.
It also has a bathroom made of natural stone and decorated with small tiles, which includes an independent shower and whirlpool bathtub so you can choose how best to relax.
Junior Suite
Wake up in these large, bright rooms where the use of artisan materials and delicate fabrics has created a warm space where you can relax and unwind. With a marble bathroom and either an exclusive terrace or charming balcony where you can feel at one with nature and your surroundings.

Frédéric Restaurant
The elegant, welcoming ambience of our dining room and terraces blends perfectly with a style of cuisine that makes special use of our own and local high-quality produce and new techniques combining flavours and textures with careful presentation.
Children are not left out as our team would be delighted to provide our menu specially created for them.
Breakfast surrounded by orange and olive trees
We know that breakfast is the main meal of the day. That’s why we provide a wide variety of cold and hot fresh produce at our petit buffet.
From traditional Valldemossa potato coca buns and ensaimadas to Mallorcan ramallet tomatoes, Mallorcan sausage specialities and cheese, including our own extra virgin olive oil, salmon and avocado wraps, fresh fruit and our menu of egg dishes from our own hens, crepes and shakes.
Meals in the sun
Every lunchtime our Bistro menu offers lighter fare that you can eat on our terraces with views of Palma Bay. This includes our gazpacho with cucumber ice-cream, Angus hamburger and homemade tiramisú.
On Sundays you can enjoy our Music Lunch, when meals are made more entertaining by a small live band that changes every month with the menu.
Dinners by candlelight
For romantic evenings by candlelight, we offer exquisite à la carte dishes accompanied by good wine and live music.
For a more complete experience, order our delicious tasting menu, because you really should try Mallorcan lamb, porcella negra (black suckling pig) and fresh fish of the day. We also serve dishes of the day and set menus that vary depending on the produce in season.

Disconnect for a day with us! A day pass that begins with access to water areas in the morning and in the afternoon. Following a midday meal in our Bistro bar – choice of two course menu, coffee or tea.
Finally, according to the calendar, attend a yoga session in the outdoor pool if you wish. We put at your disposal: towel, bathrobe, amenities, slippers, bottle of water and fruit skewer at sunset. Choose between: relaxing massage or reiki. Price per person 155€.
