Discover one of the most beautiful viewpoint in the Dolomites. Welcome to Colfosco in Alta Badia. The Sella Group is always within reach, a view of the Dolomites whatever the time or season. Tune in to joie de vivre and serenity.

Back in 1968, agriculture still had a central role in the Ladin valleys. Life was hard and full of sacrifices. And yet Josef Ebner had an intuition, or rather, a vision. The man from Val Pusteria purchased a small plot of land above Colfosco, next to the road leading to Passo Gardena.

His vision was implemented by Otto, his eldest son, who built a small home upon the land. Making ends meet was not easy, but Otto did not throw in the towel: he worked hard to make his dream come true, working as a dish cleaner, even a porter.

The first savings rebuilt the small home into a hotel. Winter tourism started growing, as did the home: together with his entrepreneurial wife, Pia, a lot of hard work and dedication, the Kolfuschgerhof took shape until it became a large family-run business. Family comes first, even today.

Their children – Axel, Hannes, and Dagmar – and their passion and foresight resulted in today’s new, refurbished Kolfuschgerhof. It may have a revamped look but its core values have never changed: family, kindness, and wellbeing are at the heart of an offer based on genuine hospitality which never forgets its past while still looking into the future.

ROOMS & SUITES
More than simple rooms: these are spaces where you can relax, feel good, and rest. A woody, earthy aroma wafts in the air, elegant Tyrolean decorations dot the room, and nothing is left to chance.

Most rooms have a balcony and a view of the Sella Group, the Sassongher, the Ciampac, and the village of Colfosco. All rooms offer a sober, homey ambience – an intimate look into what life in the Dolomites truly is. Dreams come true.

PENTHOUSE SUITE
100 sqm divided into two separate areas – both with a bathroom. The suite is beautifully laid out in ancient wood and has its own sauna, bathrooms, and chill-out area – and a jacuzzi on the balcony with a view of the Dolomites, to boot!

The lounge is furnished with chairs and a table, while the bathroom has a freestanding bathtub. A special suite for special moments: elegant and refined touches turn this space into a universe of pure bliss. Revel in the dawn and sunset as they splash a pink hue over the mountains: what we call the ‘Enrosadira’.

WELLNESS SUITE
Revel in the beauty of the Dolomites in the Deluxe suite. A world of pure peace and calm, the daily stress softened by ancient wood, refined textiles, and the breathtaking view of the Pisciadù waterfalls and the Sella Group.

The suite has separate areas, and the lounge is furnished with a traditional Stube, a table, chairs, and a restroom. The sauna, as well as the jacuzzi on the balcony, make this space one to fully experience and enjoy.

TOWER SUITE
In the suite, which consists of two floors, guests dream not only at night, but also during the day – with a view of the majestic Sella group. The bedroom and a separate bathroom with toilet, wellness shower and bathtub are located on the lower floor.

The upper floor includes a Finnish sauna with a view of the Sella group, fireplace, a living room and a balcony with a view of the Pisciadù and the waterfalls. Amazement and bliss are guaranteed here.

PRESTIGE SELLA

A hymn to luxurious comfort, bathed in natural sunlight splashing across the spacious area and across the tastefully placed furniture. Norway spruce, refined textiles, and that typical Ladin flair offer those light, harmonious touches guests never even knew they were looking for when choosing the Dolomites for their stay.

All the rooms have been refurbished and are fitted with Norway spruce wooden floors, Tyrolean furniture, creature comforts, and with or without a balcony. Step into a world where everyday stress and grind are distant memories. Sweet dreams.

DINING
Our love for good food inspires us to create traditional dishes with a twist served in a space conducive to outstanding meals and joie de vivre.

Our hotel restaurant is complemented by three typical wood and glass Stuben (one of them overlooks the Dolomites) where you can enjoy a magical candlelit dinner. Intimate spaces, Tyrolean furnishing and decor, a genuine ambience which brings people together. An irresistible temptation.

THE WINE CELLAR
Our wine cellar, or ‘Cianô dal vin’ in Ladin, boasts select regional and international wines – but it is a lot more than that. It is an intimate, warm, charming space where you can taste dedicated menus and discover our passion for wine by tasting different labels and distillates. Give in to a wave of new emotions.

THE BISTROT
This is a lot more than a lounge bar. A meeting place where to let your hair down after a long day skiing or hiking across the Dolomites and its paths. Ladin and South Tyrolean dishes, select cheese, and cold cuts sliced directly on our Berkel.

Place an order even outside regular eating hours. A pre-dinner aperitif prepared with carefully selected medicinal herbs and a post-dinner cocktail or distillate are the perfect recipe for a pleasant evening in a serene and soothing ambience.

THE CHEF TABLE
The ‘Chef Table’ experience is all about offering an extravagant dining experience to our guests. Book a table for four in the kitchen, and our Chef will describe the dishes of a specially prepared menu as they are being cooked. Be our Chef’s guest and get ready for an unforgettable evening.

THE TERRACE
Simply breathtaking. Relax before the beauty of the Dolomites, the perfect background to experience our mouth-watering dishes, a steaming cup of tea or an aperitif as the hours fly by.

Our scenic terrace boasts a view of the Sella Group as well as the Val di Mesdì, and can be accessed by our hotel guests as well as other tourists. After all, happiness is only real when shared. Welcome!

THE KAMINSTUBE
The crackling chimney fire lends an air of intimacy to this spacious room. The hall has around 40 seats for our guests or anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion or a unique, exclusive, and original event or meeting. Booking required.

THE COL PRADAT HUT
Located at 2,000 m altitude in the beautiful Val Stella Alpina, the Col Pradat is a lot more than a simple lodge: during summer, it is the ideal resting spot after having hiked on the Puez-Odle Nature Park’s paths; during winter it is the ideal retreat after having skied across the extraordinary Dolomites.

The lodge can be reached via cable car during both seasons. The Col Pradat’s terrace, nicknamed ‘the Eagle’s nest’, boasts a breathtaking view of the Dolomites. Chill out while enjoying an aperitif or a snack. Or order a proper meal, too.

The adjacent Oysterbar serves fresh oysters accompanied by a bubbly aperitif and finger food prepared on the spot. You can also request our exclusive fondue, ‘L’Ciapel’, but be sure to do it in advance.

A beautiful spot and delicious, traditional meals which will satisfy even the most refined of palates. Hannes, the innkeeper, will always welcome you with a warm smile – the lodge is an ideal place for a wedding, a celebration with family or friends in a welcoming and magical ambience. You can also spend the night and experience unforgettable moments in this unique Alpine world.

The Col Pradat lodge is the ideal starting and finishing point of many hikes and mountain bike excursions. It can easily be reached by cable car. Trekking enthusiasts can set off from here to explore different paths of varying difficulty, some among the most beautiful and well-known in the Dolomites: the Sassongher climb, the Forcella Puez and the Forcella hut, the path to the Gardenaccia hut and the one to Passo Gardena.

The lodge is next to the Col Pradat cable car station and connected to the Alta Badia Dolomiti Superski skiing carousel, making it the ideal point to recharge one’s batteries, sunbathe on the stunning terrace or ski on the always well-groomed blue, red, or black slopes.

On Thursday evenings we will take you up in a snowcat for a romantic candle-lit dinner: after a bracing trip, you will be greeted at the hut with a warm mulled wine. Ah, just what you needed! All you have to do next is take a seat for a delightful dinner with live music.

Celebrating your wedding at the Col Pradat, at 2,000 m altitude, being pampered by our staff – does it get any better than this? Yes, it does. A beautiful location, a unique ambience, and seamless organisation: a beautiful day which will be cherished forever by the happy couple and their guests.

PURE WELLNESS
Wellness to us means one thing: making time to take care of oneself. Leave the rest to us, you are in good hands. Simply relax and take it easy. Our treatments will make you forget the daily grind and focus on relaxing and feeling good. Wellness is all about health – come along and discover how we plan on taking good care of you.

BEAUTY AND HEALTH
The guests’ wellbeing takes centre stage in our SPA: a series of interconnected rooms focusing only on their health and happiness. A spacious, warm pool and different saunas, each dedicated to a specific beneficial property; a Turkish bath; soothing chill-out rooms with a chimney; a waterbed room with relaxing background music

THE SWIMMING POOL
A spacious pool – always at the right temperature between 26 and 30°C – 14 m long and more than 6 m wide: our pool is ideal for a swim, or just to relax on its ledge, looking out to an area boasting five different saunas and a jacuzzi as well as the outdoor infinity pool-jacuzzi.

THE SAUNAS
Everyone knows the most important aspect of a sauna is an infusion, which guarantees the body can make the most of this healthy form of perspiration. Our five saunas include different infusion rituals every day. We adapt the rituals to our guests’ needs and demands.

A steam room with view to soothe your muscles; a Dolomites-themed sauna to purify your body and boost the immune system; a steam room with stones to invigorate and relax you; a family sauna to boost circulation and detoxing; ocean water sauna to regenerate the airways. Come and visit us: guaranteed wellbeing.

THE MASSAGES
Her Ayurveda training makes Elena the perfect SPA manager and leader of our dream team. We take care of guests with specific massages and treatments employing essential oils and natural products.

Our knowledge allows us to use different massages: sports massages, oriental massages, soothing massages or even personalised ones. Our only goal is to make you feel good, help you find yourself again, and achieve that sense of inner quiet we all yearn for.

OUTDOOR WELLNESS
Our garden, also accessible by taking the lift from the SPA, is a vast, green, lush area with a stunning view of the Sella Dolomites. Beauty as far as the eye can see: what better way to enjoy your day than to relax on the original, basket-shaped wicker deckchairs or the more classic loungers and sunbathe?

Whatever the season, the garden is home to a small hut with a sauna, a jacuzzi, and a chill-out room with a chimney and scenic window. Children can make the most of the playground during summer. Our hotel garden is a slice of heaven on earth set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomites.

THE SUMMER TIME
As free as can be: explore paths rising into the sky; bike across passes which have gone down in history; and take lift facilities instead of your car. During summer, Alta Badia offers countless fun activities while exploring nature up close and being part of a community brimming with traditions and a rich culture.

The Dolomites are something we should all experience, a nature park where everyone feels as though they belong. The perfect location to make unforgettable memories you will cherish forevermore. Our hotel is the ideal starting point for everyone wishing to go on a hike – families included.

As if that were not enough, we also have a dedicated area where younger guests can run and play outdoors to their heart’s content and use the slide, swing, as well as a game room featuring billiards, table football, ping pong, boardgames and the opportunity to watch a film.

And there is more! Just a stone’s throw from the hotel lies Colfosco Adventure Park boasting routes of varying difficult for both adults and children; while the Pralongià plateau is home to the ‘Movimënt Park’, a veritable outdoor fitness and leisure centre.

We are also happy to prepare a dedicated menu for your children as well as provide you with highchairs, cribs, books and, on request, a babysitter. The Dolomites in summer are a dream come true for every family.

FORESTS, MEADOWS, AND BOULDERS
Colfosco is at the foot of the Puez-Odle Nature Park. It is the starting point of a vast network of paths leading across breathtaking and awe-inspiring locations.

And it gets better: the Sella Group, the Pisciadù waterfall, and the widespread network of vie ferrate for the boldest ramblers: Alta Badia is the ideal location if you love hiking, climbing, or simply making the most of nature from the top of the Dolomites.

BIKING
The hotel is located in a special place, at the foot of the legendary Passo Gardena, one of the Sellaronda’s four passes. Our bike-friendly hotel has it all: we offer helpful tips and guided rides for guests wanting to discover the most picturesque areas of this area, provide a bike rental service as well as preparing dedicated menus and soothing the tiredness away with special massages.

The Dolomites have something for everyone: even for cyclists. The legendary bends of the passes, the dirt roads crossing meadows and Alpine pastures, the forest paths: cycling across this unique landscape is an experience which never grows old. On the contrary, it is as rewarding and beautiful as on day one.

The Dolomites have shaped the history of international cycling. They are well known to road cyclists, who cannot wait to pedal on the legendary trails of the Giro d’Italia, climbing the passes and grazing the clouds as they whiz by.

Val Badia’s summer has been on serious cyclists’ agenda for quite some time now for the events it hosts. These three traffic-free events are among the most important to remember: the Dolomiti Bike Day, the Sellaronda, and the Maratona dles Dolomites. Cycling in the Dolomites: absolutely stunning!

Single trails, dirt roads, and never-ending bliss. The Dolomites and mountain bikers: the ideal landscape boasting trails of varying difficulty. There is something for everyone.

After all, it is no coincidence that the HERO, the toughest mountain bike marathon in the world, is held on the other side of Passo Gardena. Our hotel has its own guides who will recommend itineraries and join you on guided tours to discover the thrill of off-road cycling surrounded by breathtaking nature.

You do not have to be a cycling pro to enjoy the thrill of exploring the roads and gravel paths of the Dolomites by bike. Rent our e-bikes and after having listened to our tips, you will be ready to experience unique emotions in a world of freedom!

We highly recommend a trip to the Col Pradat, our lodge in the breathtaking Val Stella Alpina. Enjoy a stunning view and have a bite of local dishes in a typical mountain lodge boasting an amazing terrace.

HISTORY & CULTURE
Experiencing the Dolomites means getting to know the Ladini, a people proud of their heritage, traditions, language, and culture thriving in a unique area where hospitality is key.

Two places in Val Badia are dedicated to telling the Ladin history and culture. The Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor, in San Martino in Badia, opens a window onto the legendary Ladin world, accompanying guests on a rich tapestry of archaeology, geology, craftsmanship as well as exploring the development of tourism across the Ladin valleys in the Dolomites.

The Museum Ladin Ursus Ladinicus, in San Cassiano, is dedicated to the Dolomites prehistoric bear. The interactive exhibition covers three floors and guides visitors across the story and habitat of this ‘cave-bear’ which lived 40,000 years ago, as well as including information about the main stages of the Dolomites’ birth.

Over the course of the centuries, crafts have represented an important means of living beside agriculture and farming for the Ladin valleys. Passed down from one generation to the next, these trades were born out of necessity. They slowly became a passion which can now be admired across various shops in the valley, where you can marvel and purchase strikingly beautiful products and decorations.

When it comes to describing the beauty of the Dolomites, nothing comes close to the real thing. Infinite beauty is the perfect stage for contemporary visual art. Thanks to the dedication of cultural institutes and associations, there are countless initiatives at the heart of the cultural Ladin offer.

The ‘Tru d’artisc’ stretches between La Villa and San Cassiano: this outdoor gallery is home to works by different Dolomites’ artists. SMACH has left its mark across San Martino in Badia, a land art project which translates into a biennial outdoor exhibition.

The Unika and Biennale Gherdëina take place just over Passo Gardena, the valley home to its famous wood carvers, attracting the attention of artists and guests from all over the world.

FISHING IN THE DOLOMITES
Fish trout and char in peace and quiet on the riverbed of the Gader. We have always fished at the hotel – and we have a 3-km private stretch of river all to ourselves. Guests can while away the hours, contemplating life and rediscovering the joy of fishing from a time long gone by.

GOLFING BONANZA
Alta Badia has become famous for being one of the most beautiful areas in the Dolomites. Rocky pyres and fairy-tale views are the perfect backdrop to experience beauty outdoors. Even when playing golf: make the most of a 9-hole course, putting green, driving range and two pros just 5 km from the hotel.

We know what we are talking about, as we are the founding members of the Golf Club Alta Badia in Corvara. All our guests are entitled to a special 20% discount when booking the course to play this wonderful sport.

HORSE RIDING IN THE DOLOMITES
Few people can say they have been horse riding across the paths, dirt roads, and green, lush meadows of the Dolomites. Both cows, who produce fresh, outstanding milk every day, and horses live in the stables peppering our valleys.

For those guests who have a special bond with horses, we are happy to direct them to the best stables as well as suggest excursions and trails with horse riding experts.

THE WINTER TIME
In winter, the light in the Dolomites is special. A suffused beauty which bursts forth in all its glory as the sun sets, a pink wave washing over the rocky mountain walls, the perfect ending to days of skiing across sparkling, snow-covered slopes.

The Dolomites are a breathtaking sight to behold, and there is no better place to do so than with us. Families can make the most of our hospitality, ideal for spending their days outdoors surrounded by nature.

Ski schools for children, baby parks, and nurseries as well as slopes for the parents; and, it goes without saying, dedicated sleighing slopes, playing areas for the kids, and plenty of fun opportunities every day. The hotel also has its very own game room featuring billiards, table football, ping pong, boardgames and the opportunity to watch a film.

We are also happy to prepare a dedicated menu for your children as well as provide you with highchairs, cribs, books and, on request, a babysitter. And what about the parents? Fear not, because pampering you is also part of our offer. Enjoy winter at the Kolfuschgerhof for relaxing and happy moments.

SKIING IN ALTA BADIA
Just a stone’s throw from the Sellaronda’s Skisafari and the slopes connected to the Dolomiti Superski, our hotel is the ideal location for skiing and snowboard enthusiasts. With 1,200 km of well-groomed slopes checked every day, set against a breathtaking backdrop, skiing takes on a whole new level with us.

Our family and staff include expert skiers, and we are happy to give you insider tips on slopes, itineraries, and challenges you may encounter. As if that were not enough, you can purchase your Dolomiti Superski ski pass at the hotel.

Head to the Sellaronda directly from our hotel or take part in one of our daily ski tours to explore the rest of the beautiful Dolomites. For example: Lagazuoi Skitour / Skisafari and Cinque Torri; Gebirgsjäger Skitour, Giro della Grande Guerra: Marmolada – Civetta – Lagazuoi – Alta Badia; Skitour Santa Croce; Skitour Stella Alpina with a pit stop at Col Pradat. Skiing across the Dolomites: an unforgettable experience.

The ski and snowboard teachers in Colfosco are ready to help anyone willing to learn or improve their style. We are happy to provide a shuttle run for your children to their lessons as they learn how to make their first snowplough turns in the beautiful world of skiing.

PEACE AND QUIET
Ski, snowboard, and so much more. Don your snowshoes and explore nature in the Dolomites during winter by walking across prepared paths snaking their way through forests, the crisp scrunch of your feet the only sound to interrupt the peace and quiet. If, however, you fancy something more adventurous, hop onto a sleigh and whoosh down the slopes next to our hotel for the ultimate thrill.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Alta Badia seems to have been made for cross-country skiing: beautiful well-groomed slopes surrounded by unforgettable winter landscapes. We collaborate with the Cross-Country Ski School Alta Badia located in Saré in San Cassiano – Armentarola. We guarantee all cross-country skiers they will live unique moments!

NEVER-ENDING WINTER EMOTIONS
Traditions mean everything to us, and that is why we share them with our guests. For example, take a horse-drawn sleigh ride. This means of transport was often used in the past across the valley, so why not step back in time by travelling on one of our horse-drawn sleighs?

Explore the magical landscape of the Dolomites on a fairy-tale sleigh: does it get any better than this? Book a family ride or a ride for two for an experience you will cherish forevermore. Fancy spending a night in an Alpine lodge? Leave it to us. We will take you on a snowcat to the Col Pradat for a candlelit dinner where you can also admire an amazing view.
