Lantana Resort is located in Pula, 30 km from Cagliari, in a green and luxuriant area lapped by the River Riu Pula, and near the seaside and the most evocative beaches of the Golfo degli Angeli, west of Villasimius, on the south-western coast of Sardinia.

Our apartment hotel is frequently sought after by those who love a quiet and natural landscape, thanks to its exotic garden filled with palms and rare plants, which fill the rooms, apartments, pool, solarium and l’wellness corner with amazing scents and colours, making our Resort a special and unique place.

It is also the ideal place to enjoy a light and delicious cuisine, inspired by Sardinian tradition, in a balanced mix of meat and seafood dishes. The Lantana is the ideal starting spot to visit the natural amenities of this area of Sardinia: many of the best points of interest can be easily reached by car or bike.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you in Pula, one of the greenest and most hospitable places on the island, at about 12-minute walk from the fine sandy beach of Nora and 10-minute walk from the historical centre of the town. Cagliari Elmas airport is 35 km away.

We are located at just 1500 meters from the seaside, 5 km from IsMolas Golf Club, 2 km from horseback riding facilities, 1000 meters from Pula Tennis Club and 18 km from the famous Chia Dunes.

ROOMS & SUITES
The Lantana Resort comprises a Hotel with 24 rooms featuring all the comforts (free Wi-Fi, adjustable air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, safety box, satellite TV) and an Apartment area which houses 32 superbly furnished apartments. The rooms and apartments are surrounded by the quiet garden and overlook it through furnished and private terraces and patios.

Those who have stayed at the Lantana, have cherished our rooms as particularly quiet and welcoming: we are not sure if this is due to the perfect location and to the skilful soundproofing of the rooms, or to the calm instilled by the natural hues and the furnishing made by Sardinian artisan, or by a combination of both.

Very sought after by couples who do not wish to share the room with the children is the Family Room, which comprises a double room, an adjoining room with two twin beds and a shared bathroom. All bathrooms are equipped with shower or tub, towel warmer, hairdryer and courtesy set.

Children are valued guests here: if you need high chairs, cribs, baby bath tubs, or to heat your child’s meals or anything else, feel free to ask the Reception Desk. Well-behaved pets are welcome too, with the payment of an additional fee, but they cannot stroll around the common areas.

Check-in is open from 2 PM, and we ask you to please vacate your rooms, at the end of your stay, at noon. We offer non-smoking rooms and rooms equipped for disabled people, with no architectural barriers.

DINING
At dinner, the chef offers a healthy, light and varying cuisine, inspired by regional traditions and experimentation and prepared with many seasonal vegetables and carefully selected local “zero km” meat and seafood products.

At least once, during your holidays, you have to taste the lemon-flavoured lamb, a signature dish of the Lantana garden, cooked with a secret recipe of the cook’s grandmother, or the signature myrtle berry roasted piglet.

Don’t miss our incredible homemade pasta dishes, such as the traditional culurgiones, delicious spike-shaped ravioli filled with potatoes, fresh cheese and mint leaves, and the ravioli with goat or sheep’s milk ricotta (in the summer) and spinaches, or the pappardelle with field nettle, mussels and tomatoes.

The innovative slow and low-temperature cooking methods (up to 24 hours and vacuum-sealed) allow to preserve all the food flavours and active ingredients: a single morsel of the baked gurnard or the mussel soup, of the calf’s cheek or the pork loin will amaze your taste buds with taste and softness.

Finally, the wonderful homemade desserts: the limoncello or rhum baba, the lemon millefeuille and the myrtle berry sorbet. And, of course, the traditional Seadas (a hand made pastry filled with fresh cheese, deep fried and served with honey).

The Restaurant at the Lantana Resort offers new menus every evening, inspired by the Italian and regional food and wine culture, with special attention to the Sardinian traditional cuisine, including the best local dishes, prepared with high-quality raw materials and Sardinian “zero km” products. The restaurant is open for dinner from July through to October, from 8 PM to 10 PM.

Each dish in our menu is labelled with symbols that signal the presence of allergens or special ingredients (such as dairy products, gluten or animal products). Particular attention is dedicated to the preparation of tailored menus for vegetarians, people who suffer from celiac disease and vegans. There’s also a special menu for children.

People suffering from food allergies and intolerances are kindly invited to notify our staff upon arrival: the kitchen of the Lantana is willing to prepare alternatives for each single dish.

MOONLIGHT BARBECUES
During summer, the meat or seafood barbecue (or the rich vegetable version for vegans and vegetarians) is a weekly event not to be missed, just as the traditional Sardinian buffet dinners, hosted every 15 days in a lively environment, animated by traditional folk music and dances. The full moon evenings with wine-tasting offered by the best Sardinian wine cellar, are always special events at the Lantana.

LIGHT LUNCH
Between noon and 3 PM, the hotel offers a service of light-lunch on the poolside terrace, with a choice of pasta specialities, Parma ham and melon, mixed salads, cheese, sandwiches, snacks and, of course, delicious desserts.

BREAKFAST
The overnight stay at the Hotel includes the breakfast buffet, which is, without any doubt, one of our highlights: it is served from 8 AM to 10 AM on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool; if you prefer room service (charged separately), just ring the Concierge.

Fresh and dried fruit, almonds, homemade jams and honey, homemade pies and cookies, yoghurt and cereal, cold cuts and cheese platters, hot eggs with toast: we think this is the right way to start every day with a smile.

Also the guests staying at the apartments of the Lantana Apartment Hotel can request our breakfast; furthermore, the Apartment Hotel guests can enjoy special meal plans (light-lunch or dinner) at the hotel. The “Take-away” service, allows you to order your dinner by 1 PM and pick it up from 7:30 PM on, to enjoy it privately in your apartment or under the stars, in the private patio or terrace.

SPA & WELLNESS
Here at the Lantana Resort we have thousands of ways to pamper our hotel and apartment hotel guests: for this reason, we have set an elegant gazebo in a seculed corner of the park, near the swimming pool, where you can enjoy massages and beauty treatments.

Our treatments help you reinvigorating your body and mind and they are much appreciated by those who wish to enrich their holiday with a memorable relaxing experience. The beauty treatments include facial and body care, manicure, pedicure, relaxing massages and shiatzu and they can be booked at the hotel Concierge.

Each massage can be tailored to suit you. A full body massage or a specific area of energy point in order to alleviate a physical problem or to reduce muscular tension. A treatment at the Lantana “Gazebo” is one of the best ways to finish a perfect vacation day, by taking care of yourselves.

THE GARDEN
For a long time, after staying at the Lantana, you’ll remember the nocturnal scents of the Datura and of the Frangipane flowers. After leaving this place, our guests find themselves longing for the calm and quiet that wraps our rooms and apartments in the morning, surrounded by the wonderful Mediterranean flora of the park. For this reason, many guests gladly come back to Sardinia and stay at our hotel.

he Mediterranean essences, the emerald fields, the astounding palm grove comprising over 100 palms of 15 different species, the succulents, the putting green, the shrubs in bloom, countless acclimatized exotic plants and the citrus grove of the Arabian garden, are the true highlights of this paradise created by the passion of the owners of the Lantana Resort to instil beauty and tranquillity in their guests, at just 1500 meters from the crystal clear sea of Nora.

In the middle of the park, an amazing 400 sqm swimming pool stands out with its water features, solarium and terrace, an ideal place to have breakfast and special dinners in the summer nights.

A gazebo houses the wellness corner where you can enjoy massages and beauty treatments; a green area houses a football field and a playground for children. Our garden is part of the “APGI” (Italian Parks and Gardens Trust)

THE SWIMMING POOL
The garden of the Lantana Resort houses an amazing 400 sqm swimming pool complete with water features, shaped as two adjoined circles with variable depth: the larger one has a maximum depth of 160 cm, while the smaller one is 90 cm deep.

All around the swimming pool, there are sunbeds and showers and, right next to it, the bar area and the restaurant terrace, which features a bar and light lunch service for those who wish to take a break with a quick meal. Our pool towels can also be used on the beach and may be requested at the Reception Desk.

From June to mid-September, the hotel offers children morning activities three times a week, with games and water shows; during the rest of the day, all children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. During the summer, in the afternoon, there are Aquafit and Pilates courses for our guests who wish to stay fit even during the holidays.

GOLF
The Lantana Resort has a special feature for passionate golfers: within the park, in the shade of the palms, there’s a private putting green with 9 holes, available for the guests staying at our Hotel and Apartment Hotel. The putting green is near the pool and the blooming plants of the Mediterranean garden, which surrounds and shields the rooms and apartments overlooking it.

The course is ideal to test your skills and training, before tackling the nearby Is Molas Golf course (18-27 holes), that can be reached with our shuttle service; the course is renowned and appreciated by golfers all over the world thanks to its all year round microclimate and the particularly appealing location.

CHILDREN HOLIDAYS
While on vacation, families with children have different needs than those of other guests and require special attention in the hotel where they stay. For this reason, here at the Lantana, we treat them with special care and can proudly state that our hotel is child-friendly.

Children are welcomed at the Lantana Resort. To entertain them, we have set a playground in the garden complete with swings, merry-go-rounds, slides and seesaws, suitable for children from 3 to 6 years old, who must be accompanied by “Grown-ups”.

Playing with water in the pool is loads of fun too, but it’s best to do it under the supervision of an adult or one of our children’s entertainers who, 3 times a week, during summer, from mid-June to mid- September, entertains the children with water and land games.

For couples with children, the Resort offers a family room at the Hotel or, for those who want to be more independent, two/three-room apartments at the Apartment Hotel, fully furnished and comprising an external private space (terrace or patio), suitable to play freely and safely.

The large park that surrounds the Hotel is perfectly fit for outdoor games. If, upon arrival, you need high chairs, cribs, baby bath tubs, or to heat your child’s meals or anything else, feel free to ask the Reception Desk.

For dinners at the Hotel restaurant we have created a special menu for children; and the kitchenette in each apartment of the apartment hotel also includes a microwave, to prepare meals quickly. If Mum and Dad long for some quiet and relaxing time, they can request the baby sitting service.

STROLLING AROUND PULA
Before diving into our emerald sea, many in our guests enjoy a morning stroll along the streets of the historical centre of Pula: on Tuesdays, don’t miss the local market, where you can hunt for bargains and typical Sardinian products. At lunchtime, some of our guests prefer to remain in the town square, while others come back to the hotel for a quick light-lunch on the terrace.

THE STAFF & THE GALLIA FAMILY
Gianni Gallia is the superlative architect of our welcoming philosophy: for this reason, he dedicates himself to the wellbeing of his hotel guests with the same passion with which he takes care of the beautiful hotel garden: the succulent section is his prerogative.

The refined yet familiar atmosphere of the Lantana Resort is amazingly inspired by Giovanna Gallia: she is actively involved in the different departments and her contribution to the operational management is simply irreplaceable.

Gigi Gallia , the purchase manager, is restless, especially during the high season: when he’s not busy running around for urgent orders and purchases and scolding tardy suppliers, he gladly takes our guests up and down, with the airport and beach shuttle service.

Having just returned from abroad, Valeria Gallia contributes to the hotel management and, thanks to her Degree in Economics, supplements and enriches the family hospitality tradition. Carlo is our historic director: with an all-female staff – starting from Lisa, who is the reception manager – he’s committed to welcoming our guests, with great politeness and availability.

Our chef Lorenzo makes an appearance only on special occasions, but it’s sufficient to take a bite out of one of his dishes, to be completely captivated by them. Let the maître Tiberio and the waiting staff unveil the secrets of his dinner menus: you’ll end up tasting each and every dish. A well-known face to our guests is Maria, our barmaid: this enthusiastic lady is behind our amazing cocktails and the amusing disguise for the children’s hour.

Chicca, the housekeeper, is a strong and capable woman, and another historical focal point for our impeccable staff here that every day is in charge of cleaning and servicing our rooms and apartments. And what about the lifeguard Simone? In time, he has even learned to play with the children, and he has a lot of fun too!

Finally, if we can enjoy the colours and the exotic scents of this wonderful garden, and if the field of the putting green is one of the best in Sardinia, we certainly have our green man here at the Hotel Lantana to thank for, our precious gardener, Venanzio.

ENVIRONMENT
Sensitive to environmental matters, we’re among the first accommodation facilities committed to the development of a sustainable tourism on the island. For this reason, in the Apartment Hotel we have installed over 400 sqm of photovoltaic panels in order to generate clean energy and solar panels to generate hot water.

Near the covered parking, in a corner of the garden, there’s a waste sorting area: here, the hotel apartment guests can dispose of their waste into the special containers for paper, plastic, glass, cans, unrecyclable dry waste and organic waste.

At the Lantana, our cuisine aims at sustainable food consumption: for this reason, when it’s possible, we choose organic and “zero kilometre” products, seasonal and Sardinian fruit and vegetables to prepare our breakfast buffet, light-lunch and dinner.

Through composting, a lot of food waste is recycled to fertilize the garden plants, whose cultivation follows the principles of integrated pest management. The rooms and apartments are equipped with an intelligent system that prevents useless energy dispersions, by stopping the air conditioning upon opening of windows and doors.

All the accommodation is equipped with systems to limit the consumption of cold and hot water (double flush for toilets and taps with a single mixer) and with master lighting switches. The optimal heat insulation of the environment is guaranteed by the use of certified POROTON® sustainable construction systems.

BIKING
The Lantana Resort is an ideal starting point also for bike lovers. Bikes and motorbikes can be safely parked in the car parking which is equipped with bike rack and covered with large canopies.

Those staying in Pula can easily arrange a series of bike trips or motorbike excursions, along the most fascinating routes and streets in Southern Sardinia and through the bike paths located in this area of the island. From here, you can easily reach some of the most beautiful beaches and sights of the region by bike.

Worthy of note is the route coming from Cagliari that runs along the amazing panoramas of the western coastal road, reaching the archaeological site of Nora and then, after several rises and descents, reaches Capo Malfatano, to proceed through Sant’Antioco, then Carloforte, a small town located on the San Pietro Island, with Genovese-Tabarchino origins, and finally Porto Vesme and Iglesias. At the Hotel Reception Desk, you can request the rental of bikes, scooters and quads.

SEA & DIVING IN SOUTHERN SARDINIA
For those who love boat trips, snorkelling or diving to explore the shores and seabed, a holiday at the seaside in Sardinian offers a great variety of tours and routes. Here, just like on land, the marine and underwater worlds offers ever-changing sceneries for travellers: bays, caverns, sand and white or purple granite rocks, populated by rare varieties of fish and by school of marine organisms also originating from tropical seas.

The wonders of the marine wildlife attract scuba divers from the entire Mediterranean area each year, together with the submerged wrecks and the amphorae scattered around the seabed near Villasimius and the pink promontory of Cava Usai, or right outside Baia Chia and in front of Capo Spartivento.

For those passionate about snorkelling, worthy of note are the tours near Pula, between Capo Spartivento, Cala Cipolla, Cala Zafferano and Tuerredda. At Cala Cipolla, seven fire red coloured shores, populated by marine creatures, spread down up to a 25-meter depth.

Not to be missed are also the light blue caverns of Cala Zafferano, the shores, shoals and wrecks of Capo Teulada and Isola Rossa. On the opposite side, east of Golfo degli Angeli, between Capo Carbonara and Capo Boi, scuba divers and sailors can admire the beauties of the marine protected area and, with a bit of luck, they can encounter dolphins and turtles.

SEASIDE & BEACHES
The beautiful beach at Nora is just 1 km from the Lantana Hotel and Apartment Hotel. The beach is covered with white sand and with a gently sloping seabed suitable for children. A large variety of Mediterranean fish species may be admired in the sea, especially near to the Punic archaeological site.

Nora beach can be reached by walking, cycling on the cycle path or with our free shuttle service. The beach has restrooms, sun beds, beach umbrellas and snack bars; small boats are available to rent. The famous church of Saint Efisio is adjacent to the beach.

Santa Margherita beach in Pula, with its several kilometres of white sand and emerald sea, connects several villages, from Calaverde to PinusVillage. This beach, with its many facilities, is ideal for family holidays.

CHIA BEACH & IS ARENAS BIANCA
Split by rocky ridges, a long and spectacular strip of sand forms the seven beaches of Chia: this heavenly corner surrounded by golden dunes, wild lilies and centuries-old junipers is renowned in the entire world for the hues of the sand at dawn and sundown, and it is appreciated for the beauty of its crystal clear waters.

The seven beaches, many of which can be reached only by foot, are: the wild Isula Manna, Il Porticciolo, with immediately deep waters; La Colonia with fine sand, and the Spiaggia del Morto, with its pink granite rocks; the Campana with its dunes, and the magnificent Cala Cipolla; and then Su Giudeu, known also as the largest and most beautiful beach of this area of Sardinia, adjacent to a pond where the pink flamingo lives. Chia also houses the Bacculda Nuragic area and the sacred area of Punta su Sensu.

TUERREDDA BEACH
The splendid water and the white beach, soft and silky, make this small bay surrounded by the Sardinian Mediterranean scrub truly enchanting. The beach is well shielded from mistral winds, in front of it and within a short swim, sits the small Island of Tuerredda. The strand offers beach and food facilities and pay and display car parking.

NEARBY PULA
Pula is in the heart of one of the most important and famous touristic areas of the South-West Coast of Sardinia: during summer, the town centre becomes a pedestrian area and it’s a pleasurable meeting point for tourists who stroll around its lively streets, filled with bars, restaurants, boutiques, shops selling typical artisan products and traditional food.

The South-West Sardinian Coast is one of the most fascinating places of the island. The area is also named Sulcis and it is renewed for its lagoons and long white beaches and its succession of sandy dunes and cliffs overlooking the wonderful.

Behind the shore is the wild mountain nature of the Pixina Manna forest and its nature reserves. Inhabited by deer and golden eagles and surrounded by ancient archaeological sites (from the Nuragic ruins of Santa Margherita to the Phoenician Nora), the nature reserves are overlooking the shore as they were ancient Spanish turrets. From Pula, you can set off to a new adventure every day.

THE ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM OF PULA
A small and well-kept museum, exhibiting vases, amphorae, jewels and several other precious artefacts coming from the nearby archaeological site of Nora. At the entryway, there’s a stone with the symbol of the Punic goddess Tanith.

PULA’S ADVENTURE PARK
To enjoy a different afternoon, immersed in nature, experience the exciting paths on the trees of the Adventure Park of Pula. The structure is well organized in two suspended trails: one for children under 1.40 cm and one for adults and young adults.

You’ll be safely assisted by qualified and patient instructors; there’s no need for previous experience nor for suitable equipment (harnesses and helmets), which are supplied together with a brochure at the park entrance. The park closes at 8:30 PM. There’s a snack bar inside.

BLUFAN WATER PARK
In Sarroch, 2 km from Pula, is the BluFan, a water park open all summer from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM , offering a variety of rides for the entire family, including slides, toboggans, waterfalls, water features, entertainments and shows.

THE ANCIENT RUINS OF NORA
West of Cagliari, just a few kilometres away from Pula, the archaeological site of Nora is definitively one of the places to visit (be careful to avoid the hottest hours of the day) on the Southern Coast of Sardinia. Qualified guides will accompany you on the tour of the amazing ruins of the Phoenician, Punic and Roman civilization, on which archaeologists are still working on.

Strategically located between two ports, on the ridge of Capo Pula, the ancient Nuragic city has well preserved ruins of the Phoenician temple of Esculapio, traces of the roman market and of the Roman thermal baths, all with beautiful and well preserved mosaics.

Still visible are the water ducts, the cisterns and some ruins of the necropolis. Worthy of note is the wonderful Roman theatre, amazing summer location for outdoor shows.

THE TOWER OF COLTELLAZZO
With a nice stroll along the beach and past the ruins of Nora, you can reach the Coltellazzo Tower, which once defended and protected Pula’s tuna trap. The promenade is even more fascinating at sunset.

THE CHURCH OF SANT’EFISIO
After bathing at Nora beach and exploring the nearby archaeological site, a visit to the church of Saint Efisio is highly recommended. This beautiful Roman Church on the seaside, houses the remains of Sant’Efisio. The inside of the church has three small aisles is completely bare, but very evocative.

Since 1657, on the 2nd of May, the church fills up with many pilgrims who pay their respect to the Saint. The pilgrims set off in a procession from Cagliari to Pula. The procession starts in Cagliari on the 1st of May and arrives in Pula on the following day.

AQUARIUL LAGUNA DI NORA
Nora Lagoon lies behind the archaeological site of Nora and its beach, hosts a turtle rescue centre and several workshops on the environmental education. The guided tours include: snorkelling, with the opportunity of admiring many species of fish, sea stars and anemones, canoeing to discover the wildest corners of the lagoon, bird watching to observe herons, pink flamingos and other water birds in their natural habitat, and finally a visit to the Mediterranean Aquarium which even displays a few cetacean skeletons.

At the turtle rescue centre you may have a close encounter with one or more of the many hospitalized specimens waiting to be released back into the wild. The Lagoon is also home to a well known restaurant that offers a local and very high quality seafood cuisine.

THE NATURAL RESERVE OF MONTE ARCOSU
The natural reserve of Monte Arcosu “Piscinamanna” is the largest WWF oasis in Italy; it is located in the South-West Sardinian mountain region, north of Pula, just a few kilometres away from Cagliari, and it extends for almost 4000 hectares in an area crossed by the river Riu Guttureddu, and covered by a thick forest of holms and cork oaks and by Mediterranean scrub.

The area is renowned among naturalists for the presence of the Sardinian deer, and it is populated by fallow deer, wild cats, golden eagles, Sardinian goshawk, peregrine falcons and native species such as the butterfly “Macaone sardo”. From July 15th through to September 15th, the reserve can only be visited on a guided tour, which must be booked for a minimum of 8 people.

THE CAVES OF IS ZUDDAS
The amazing caves of Is Zuddas carved by water erosion, are located at 256 meters above the sea level, inside the Monte Meana. They are 6 km from the town of Santadi, approximately 50 Km from Pula and 60 km from Cagliari.

The caves covers an area of 1650 m2, but only a third of it can be visited; they include four halls each one completely different from the other due to the stalactite and stalagmite configuration.

The evocative Organ Hall is covered by white crystals of needle-shaped aragonites. At Christmas a large Nativity is arrange in the Organ Hall and mass is here celebrated. Just as breathtaking is the Theatre Hall and the Eccentric Hall, both of which are famous for their eccentric aragonites, amazingly shaped like small trees.

Right next to the entrance, there are traces of the Polagus Sardus, a rodent which became extinct about 4000 years ago and only evolved in Sardinia and Corsica. From April through to September, the caves are open to the public every day from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 2:30 PM to 6 6:00 PM.

THE NURAGIC SITE OF BARUMINI
Highly recommended is a guided tour of the most important Nuragic site in Sardinia “Su Nuraxi“, also appointed world heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.The site is located in the village of Barumini, north of Cagliari, direction Tuili.

The original site included five turrets; a main turret called Mastio and four side turrets joined by walls, which enclosed a courtyard provided with a well and surrounded by houses. Su Nuraxi has undergone different historical eras, from the Middle Bronze Age (1550-1300 B.C.) to the Punic-Roman Age (5th Century B.C. – 3rd Century A.C.), thus characterized by continuous changes.

The most interesting ruins which are still standing are those of the dwellings dating back to the beginning of the Iron Age, with well preserved kitchens and ovens.

CAGLIARI
The best historical attractions are located in the ancient district of “Castello”, right in the centre of the town. “Castello” is still enclosed in its Medieval walls displaying the towers of Saint Pancrazio and the Elephant tower.

In the precinct are found the Cathedral of Cagliari “Santa Maria” and the National Archaeological Museum “La Cittadella dei Musei”. Just outside the precinct, and worth a visit, are the Roman Amphitheatre, the Botanical Garden, the districts of “Marina” “Stampace” and “Villanova”. “Mercato di San Benedetto” , the largest Fish Market in Europe, is located a few minutes away from the district of “Castello”.
