Las Balsas was originally built in 1988. Since then, its characteristic blue facade has referenced the place from the bay, becoming an icon of the place. The years passed and the demands were making the hotel grow in pursuit of a better service.
This is how a new restaurant was incorporated and its exclusive (and jealous) wine cellar, more rooms and the majestic Spa. The property is surrounded by 20 hectares of native forest that is protected in the natural vastness of the Nahuel Huapi National Park. This allows to offer the visitor a unique landscape frame.
Today Las Balsas is a large residence located on the shores of the magical Lake Nahuel Huapi, which for more than 25 years has been hosting guests in search of peace and relaxation.

Patagonia de Los Lagos
The Lake District is located in the northern region of Patagonia, in the middle of the Andes. It is formed by mountains and valleys with hundreds of lakes, wetlands and rivers surrounded by unique native forests considered a hotspot of vital importance to the world’s biodiversity.
Our forest is characterized by a lush green colour, due to the abundant rains and snowfalls that the winds of the South Pacific spread their humidity when crossing the Andes.
Only 50 km east, this ancestral forest is replaced by the vastness of the Patagonian Estepa: a large desert of small shrubs and grasslands that stretches for thousands of kilometres until reaching the Atlantic Ocean.
The Great Nahuel Huapi Lake
The great Nahuel Huapi Lake, “Isla del Jaguar” in Mapuche, was of vital importance for the native people who live a hundred years ago. It is currently located within the Nahuel Huapí National Park and keeps its landscapes almost intact and its original spirit of adventure.
