Viceroy
Luxury Heritage Suite

Named after Lord Louis Mountbatten, last Viceroy of British India who visited the house on several occasions, Viceroy is the most expansive and noble room at Le Colonial.

It has a long private verandah overlooking the garden and front gates. Its impressive emperor size bed is art deco and the large marble and teak bathroom features a large walk-in shower and separate tub.

Church and Garden Views

Viceroy is Le Colonial’s largest and most noble suite. Located on the first floor of the house, it overlooks the front garden and St. Francis Church. Richly furnished, this luxury heritage suite offers generously sized elegant accomodation. Combined with Aide de Camp, Viceroy can also form a family suite.

Private Verandah

The verandah is equipped with a desk and sitting area as well as a dining table for romantic room service candlelit dinners or relaxed private breakfasts.

The marble and teak bathroom offers a large counter with his and hers sinks, a large stand up shower and a separate bathtub with luxury Cochine bathroom amenities throughout.

Jan van Spall
Luxury Heritage Suite

Named after the last Dutch Governor who resided in the property, Jan Van Spall is one of two vast suites with a spacious private verandah overlooking the pool and garden.

Private Verandah

This vast suite, decorated with vibrant fabrics, harbours a very large verandah overlooking the pool and garden, perfect for cozy breakfasts, romantic candlelit dinners or simply dozing off on the daybed in the afternoon with a book from the hotel library.

Inviting Comfort & Elegance

The room features two queen size beds, a writer’s desk, a sitting corner and a dining table. The large marble and mahogany bathroom with louvered shutters has a separate bathtub and shower. Cochine amenities. Jan van Spall is also appreciated by families and friends travelling together

Major Petrie
Luxury Heritage Junior Suite

Named after George Petrie of the British 77th Foot Regiment who took over Fort Cochin from the Dutch in 1795, Major Petrie overlooks Saint Francis Church and the quiet side street from the first floor of the property.

The Junior Suite has a magnificent four-poster bed with teak steps to climb up. The large marble and teak bathroom boasts a large walk-in shower and separate tub.

A favourite with returning guests

who particularly enjoy sleeping in our oversized canopy four poster heritage bed and climbing its large teak steps at night. The junior suite, with fabrics of colonial shades, classic antique furniture, comfortable sitting corner and work desk, overlooks the historic St Francis church.

It is located off the library, next to Mahe de La Bourdonnais and opposite Jan van Spall. The spacious marble and teak en-suite bathroom feature dual washbasins on a marble counter, separate bathtub and walk-in shower with rain shower set.

Our mattresses are fitted with supremely soft and supportive double layer platinum goose down mattress toppers, ensuring our guests enjoy a blissful sleep.

The Savoy Egyptian cotton percale bed linen is made in Italy and Portugal. To complete the experience, our light breathable non-allergenic luxury summer duvets will envelop you in softness.

Our bathrooms feature Kate Crofton-Atkins’ luxury Cochine amenity collection and her essential oils reed diffusers can be found throughout the house, adding gentle hints of classical scents to the atmosphere.

J. Thomas
Luxury Heritage Room

Named after the legendary tea trader whose home Le Colonial became under British rule, J. Thomas is located in the side wing of the property. The room, with its teak four poster bed and poplin canopy opens onto a private balcony with a garden view. The bathroom features an over-sized walk-in shower.

Garden and Pool View

This romantic bedroom is named after the very last owner of the house before it was purchased in 2004. It is located on the first floor away from the main house, down a corridor. Its balcony harbours a garden view and the hotel pool. J. Thomas is only available for booking when you book the entire Le Colonial house.

The bathroom features a large walk-in shower with luxury Cochine amenities. The comfortable four poster bed, dressed with local vibrant silk soft furnishing, the antique wardrobe and the outdoor rattan campaign chairs are reminiscent of the hotel’s past colonial history.

Aide de Camp
Luxury Heritage Room

Aide de Camp is one of two Luxury Heritage rooms with a private verandah overlooking the pool and garden.

Small in size but high in style, it is located right next to the Viceroy Luxury Heritage Suite and the two rooms can be closed off from the rest of the house to become a Grand Family Suite. Its teak and marble bathroom offers a large walk-in shower.

Romantic & Charming

Although the smallest bedroom at Le Colonial, Aide de Camp is romantic and full of charm. It is many of our returning guests’ very favourite room. The twin two poster beds with poplin canopy can be put together to make a double bed.

Private Verandah

While the bedroom overlooks the hotel pool, the large private verandah overlooks the front garden. The teak and marble bathroom features a large walk-in shower along with luxury Cochine amenities. Combined with Viceroy, Aide de Camp can form a perfect family suite.

Tipu Sultan
Luxury Heritage Room

Named after the last Sultan of Mysore who was helped by the French and defeated by the British in the XVIIIth century, the guest room with an Indian influence is located on the ground floor, away from the main living area of the property.

Whilst equipped for the differently-abled, its decor and art is in keeping with the heritage experience of the hotel. The marble and teak bathroom features a large walk-in shower.

Heritage in Style & Design

Located on the ground floor, away from the living areas, Tipu Sultan overlooks Saint Francis church on one side and the local back street with traditional Keralan shops on the other. Tipu Sultan, although heritage in style and design, is the only room with a little Indian influence, such as the impressive large almirah.

Inviting Comfort & Elegance

The room along with its marble and teak bathroom is easily accessible and equipped for the differently-abled with luxury Cochine amenities. The heritage room appeals, amongst others, to families as Vasco da Gama, with its twin beds, is literally three steps across the corridor.
