Geneviève Charial has taken great care with the interior design of the twenty-six rooms, nine Junior suites and four suites of Le Prieuré.

Le Prieuré consists of 3 different dwellings, for 3 different ambiances:
- Le Prieuré, the historic part, with 17 rooms and apartments located above the reception area and the restaurant.
- Le Chapitre, an extension to le Prieuré, houses 7 rooms and suites.
- L’Atrium, the most recent building, dating from 1972, with 15 rooms and suites with views over the swimming pool and the gardens.
SUITE
From 45 to 55 m²
The most beautiful room of Le Prieuré, located in the historic building or at l’Atrium, nearby the swimming pool, they are the perfect room to welcome family trips ( up to 5 people ).
Inspired by a picture of Peter Lindbergh or a painting, their decoration made by Geneviève Charial, is very personalized and focussed on details. Terrace or balcony with views over the pool or the garden, depending on availability.
Book your room directly with our reservation department and we will try our best to give you the requested view. Air-conditioning, minibar, safe. Flat-screen TV, phone, Broadband or Wi-Fi Internet access.
Ensuite bathroom with bathrobes robes and bathtub/shower combination. They can be prepared as twin room or double room ( 1 bed 1.80m ) and 3 extra beds.
A GARDEN IN TOWN
The walled garden and its fragrant wisteria are another charm to be enjoyed at Le Prieuré.
They exude a cool freshness and a lovely simplicity, over which wafts the wisteria that drapes itself the length of the trellis. Weather permitting, breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on the terrace beside the gardens.
THE POOL
Right near the garden walkways, the pool of Le Prieuré awaits you, for moments of relaxation and tranquillity. At lunchtime in the summer, you can be served a light meal poolside. Or simply enjoy this cool heaven after a stroll on the ramparts of Avignon or a wander through the cobblestone streets of Villeneuve.

Marc Fontanne is a young Chef to whom Jean André Charial has given all its faith to lead the kitchen of Le Prieuré. He has worked in great starred kitchens such as the Auberge des Templiers, Anne Sophie Pic, Château Saint Martin, or even La Réserve de Beaulieu….

OENOLOGY
Oenology is inseparable with Le Prieuré. Nearby Tavel, Châteauneuf du pape, and côtes du Rhône vineyards, the cellar is the reflect of the region. An oenologic corner has been installed in the restaurant.
Our Chef Sommelier proposes his selection to reveal the most beautifull surrounded vineyards and allow you to obtain the best local bottles. Oenologic tasting lessons with producers and oenologis animations with the Chef Sommelier are scheduled every saturdays morning.

THE HISTORY
Just a stone’s throw from Avignon, Le Prieuré, recently acquired by Geneviève and Jean-André Charial, reopened its doors in 2007, after 6 months of extensive renovations.
With its priest’s garden bordered by wisteria-draped trellises, this Relais & Chateaux hotel, built in the 14th century, has a rare charm. Today, the hotel offers 39 rooms and suites with a combination of modernity and old stones.
The owners of Baumanière, Jean-André and Geneviève Charial, bought this hotel in 2007 and wished to find the spirit of Baumanière again; Elegance, serenity, respect of the environment and people.
Le Prieuré is an old and historical establishment where the passion of a team trained at Baumanière, perpetuates a philosophy, an authentical art of living.
