The Mangala Story
It all began with a barren land. The land history of Mangala Resort & Spa revolves around its original use for tin mining activities from the 1930s till the late 1970s, then for sand mining activities from the late 1970s till the 2000s which had its produce largely supplied to the Kuantan Port.
It has since been left completely barren with hundreds of unsightly gullies, ponds, and small lakes to occupy the areas. Almost 80% of the land was also covered in clay with no topsoil, little sand and hardly any vegetation.
Mangala Resort & Spa is the result of an inspiring 15-year journey of rejuvenation, which transformed an abandoned barren mining land, believed to be fallow, into a paradise.
Today, the beautiful villas are nestled within a large expanse of palm plantation, exotic flower and herb gardens, fruit trees, rehabilitated lakes and undisturbed wetlands.
This luxurious, tropical retreat was consciously designed to enhance each guest’s experience with nature, thereby fostering a gentle and mindful relationship between guests and nature.
Translated to mean “auspicious well-being” in Sanskrit, this is an eco-friendly project that celebrates the restored treasures of a once forgotten site. Indulge into the land of nature, restored and transformed.
Sara Villa
Perched on the edge of the Mangala Wetland, Sara Villa is perfect for nature lovers and those who wish to be close to nature. Set on the wetland is the home to many species of birds, seasonal migratory birds, wild ducks, fishes and other nature’s creation.
Great for those who wish to observe nature in motion. These Villas of 55 square meter are fitted with King Bed, shower and whirlpool tub, pantry, a living area with a spacious open-air private balcony.
Jala Villa
Jala Villas overlook the serene Mangala Lake which is the central feature of the Resort. The Villas are all perched on stilts over the lake with spacious open-air balcony and school of fishes to welcome you below.
Great for those who wish to catch the gentle morning sun rising from the horizon with its golden rays over the splendid peaceful lake. All the Villas of 50 square meter are fitted with a pantry, whirlpool tub and bathroom with rain shower under the natural skylight.
Vana Villa
Exclusively in your own private enclosure providing total privacy with intimacy in mind. Surrounded by nature and palm forest which is also the home to the many species of birds found in the Resort.
An ideal setting for those seeking a romantic escapade or simply having a quiet retreat. The 55 square meter Villa is fitted with a luxurious King Bed, an outdoor rain shower and tub and pantry.
Amani Pool Villa
Amani Pool Villas are the latest addition to the list of Mangala’s luxury Villas. Situated on slightly terraced land built around a small orchard of mangoes and the popular Musang King durian trees.
Each of these luxury contemporary interior-designed semi-detached Villas boasts its private saltwater plunge pool. Some units are with interconnecting doors. All the Amani Pool Villas are fitted with a King Bed.
Each unit with a large built-up area of 60 square meters offers a poolside balcony, spacious bathroom, rain shower and tub. Some units are fitted with a double tub.
2 Bedroom Amani Pool Villa
The 2 Bedroom Amani Pool Villas is the latest addition to the list of Mangala’s luxury Villas. Situated on slightly terraced land built around a small orchard of mangoes and the popular Musang King durian trees.
Each of these luxury contemporary interior-designed private Villas boasts its own salt water plunge pool. Ideal for families. Each of these Villas boasts a large built-up areas of more than 170 square meters, including a living area which provides a generous interior for families.
The master bedroom is fitted with an extra-large King Bed and the guestroom is fitted with 2 large Queen Beds. Each unit offers a poolside balcony, spacious bathrooms, rain shower and tub.
6 Bedroom Bungalow with Pool
This bungalow consists of 2 floors and 6 bedrooms of which we have 4 King beds and 6 Single beds. It can accommodate up to 12 adults and 5 children(under 12 years old). The area of the bungalow is 1208sqm where there’s also a parking lot for buggy cars.
The bungalow is surrounded by nature and garden of spacious area. There’s also a private pool with sun deck where you can relax while enjoying the nature day and night or while waiting for your loved ones playing around in the water.
The bungalow also have a rooftop where you can enjoy the sky and stars glimmering at night.
The Lakeside Restaurant
The Lakeside Restaurant is an inviting all-day-dining restaurant offering sumptuous buffet/ unlimited a la carte breakfast (subject to occupancy levels), a la carte lunch and dinner.
Guests can choose from the chef’s range of signature local and international dishes. Upon request, our chef will try his best to accommodate any special dietary requirements. Dine with a view. Private Dining is available for booking whether for private functions or events.

The enclosed air-conditioned ballroom can accommodate about 400 wedding banquet guests for sit-down dinners and a special outdoor area is designed for capturing memorable wedding moments.
A professional wedding planning team is on hand to assist couples with the intricate planning of each step of their special wedding ceremony from villa packages to spa sessions and personalised menus.
Meeting & Events
Mangala Resort offers a ballroom that is able to accommodate up to 600 pax and several areas designed exclusively for group events, ideal for small to medium-sized meetings, events, dinners, launches and conferences.
Smaller meeting rooms are also available and all facilities are equipped with the latest technology to enable organisations to maximise their meeting time.
The Mangala Spa

Wings Of Mangala
As the surroundings of the resort started taking a burgeoning turn for the better, the vibrancy of a new ecosystem also began to take form. One of the resort’s greatest achievements is the presence of an abundance of birds and migrating birds that are said to be relatively rare and are seldom visible elsewhere.
These migratory birds fly across the East-Asian Flyway from their breeding sites in Northern Asia, and gently settles down at the resort, making it a perfect habitat for over-wintering birds.
Whether they use this locality as a stopover or as a temporary home, the abundance of food resources, suitable dwelling features and stable weather conditions all contribute to the favours of many migratory species.

Mangala Eco Tour
In an effort to educate resort guests about the origin of this successfully rehabilitated area, a guided tour is provided upon arrival.
This buggy tour, which includes pit stops at multiple sites in the resort vicinity, will provide a comprehensive introduction about Mangala Resort and its humble beginnings to the guests, allowing them to explore the site later on at a leisurely pace with a peace of mind.
Morning Nature Walk

An Environmental Conservation Project
Metamorphosed from impoverished soil to tropical haven laced with gardens of palm and fruit trees, natural lakes and lush landscapes, Mangala Resort & Spa’s transformation story is truly akin to a butterfly’s metamorphosis.
The resort is as much a relaxing oasis for guests as it is an exuberant ecosystem for the resort’s flora and fauna. The rehabilitation of mining pools have revitalised the ecosystem and breeding beds for fauna above land and under water.
The rich vegetation resulting from continuous planting exercises have also significantly increased the area’s natural habitat and source of food for wildlife. It is no surprise that the resort’s well preserved greenery has naturally made Mangala Resort & Spa home to a lovely variety of wildlife.
The resort continues to adopt numerous green methods, such as the implementation of eco-friendly operational measures (i.e. usage of buggies, bicycles, designated parking spot, in an effort to reduce carbon footprints) to continually sustain the revived ecosystem.
