Masseria Bagnara Lizzano

Masseria Bagnara was founded as a hotel restaurant in 2010, after a renovation that lasted about 5 years. The original structure, located in the Contrada from which it takes its name, was a rural farmhouse of which we have the first news in documents of the end of the 17th century and which has been operating for several decades.

In this farm, under the property of several families over the centuries, the life of many people who cultivated the land and produced basic necessities took place: cattle breeding and wheat, oats, barley, ricotta cheese and delicious cheeses were produced by the hands of farmers and then sold at village markets.

It is with an eye to this extraordinary past that the Pagano family imagined to create a receptive structure, starting a restructuring that respected the original shape but at the same time was in step with the times and with the wishes of today’s tourist clientele.

Starting from the assumption that this precious history had to be protected and enhanced, the design idea was to leave the whole historical building in its parts, transforming what used to be the work and rural life spaces into functional places for reception.

In this way, the old animal shelters, the “suppenne”, have changed their identity and have been transformed into Deluxe rooms and Suites; the old warehouses have become a Wellness Centre and Restaurant; the oldest structure, the “pagliara”, has been transformed into a prestigious Wine Cellar.

Masseria Bagnara has never abandoned its past and the Pagano Family, who owned it for many years, has not changed the sense and identity of this place, while guiding the renovation in a direction of modernity and functionality, necessary for a reception of national but also and above all international level.

SUITE
The exclusive SUITE has an entrance hall with 2 solariums from which you can access the living room, elegantly furnished with two comfortable armchairs, a desk with seating and a sofa bed, able to meet the needs in the different moments of our client’s stay.

The sleeping area is complete with a queen size “Queen Size” bed measuring 180 x 200 cm, equipped with a desk with chair and armchair. It is equipped with minibar, electric kettle, 26 “LCD TV with satellite channels, wardrobe cabin equipped with digital safe and suitcase installation.

All the accessories are available to make our guests’ stay as comfortable as possible. The bathroom consists of two functionally equipped rooms, one of which is furnished with washbasin and shower, the other is reserved for services.

HYSTORICAL ROOM
The perfect combination of past and present, history and modernity, nature and relaxation. Our Hystorical room comes to life in an ancient pagliara thanks to the sensitivity and skill of several architects who have been able to integrate environmental and design logics with a very original interpretation of the personality and history of the place.

18 square meters of internal surface, equipped with the greatest comforts, equipped outside of a private lawn area (about 50 square meters) and equipped with living area and solarium area to enjoy the mild climate of our area and breathe the air of the sea that mixes with the air of nature.

Complete with queen size “Queen Size” bed of 180 x 200 cm, minibar, LCD TV with satellite channels, internet connection wardrobe and digital safe. Treat yourself to the luxury of relaxing in a piece of the farm’s history and enjoy the starry nights through its panoramic open skylight.

TERRACE ROOM
Exclusivity and comfort merge in this room, one of the novelties of Masseria Bagnara. On the first floor of the farmhouse overlooking the surrounding countryside with 46 square meters of internal surface, with large tv, air conditioning, and all the comforts that distinguish the rooms of Masseria Bagnara (“Queen Size” sommier bed of 180 x 200 cm, minibar, LCD TV with satellite channels, internet connection wardrobe and digital safe).

To embellish the experience of wellness and relaxation a fantastic private terrace of 50 square meters with Jacuzzi, living area with seating and the possibility to taste the dishes of our kitchen directly in the room.

Our Chefs, through a revisiting of traditional cuisine, create new dishes with an eye to the past: that of the “housewives”, who have handed down recipes, ingredients and secrets that make Apulian cuisine special.

Masseria Bagnara’s wine cellar is the result of a careful, constant and passionate research of the best Apulian and Italian wines. The aim was to research and offer our guests the right wine for every occasion, for every combination and for every taste. Over 1,200 labels rest among the centuries-old stones, kept in a “pagghiara” peasant: inside our guests can make a small journey back in time.

COOKING EXPERIENCE

Let yourself be seduced by the enchanting outdoor swimming pool, located on a level higher than the courtyard area and equipped with a solarium to enjoy a magnificent panorama in the open air.
