Discover history, tranquility and the luxury of simplicity at Masseria Calderisi. Once a stately country estate, the spirit of that time can still be felt – cheerful, exuberant and proud. On the edge of the lively beach life, the 17th-century farm has been revived as a charming boutique hotel, surrounded by 24 acres of olive groves, citrus and almond trees, herb gardens and vegetable beds.

The 17th century Masseria has 24 airy rooms and suites, furnished with traditional materials and contemporary touches. Relax in simple, elegant interiors, enjoy the peace of your own private garden, and refresh in the cool of lime washed stone walls. Our comfortable rooms are here to welcome you.

THE GROUNDS
Centuries-old olive trees surround the Masseria, extending over eight hectares towards the coast. Enjoy a barefoot morning under the trees, and sample our own organic olive oil made from the masseria’s harvests. Go for a walk in the olive groves and visit the masseria’s two adopted rescue donkeys that live there, enjoying an easy life relaxing in the sun.

MALIBU
An onsite boutique stocks elegant pieces from Italian luxury brands such as Etro, Max Mara, Valentino, and Missoni, as well as ceramics made in the nearby town of Grottaglie. The boutique also sells products made at the Masseria including organic olive oil, fruit jam and taralli, a traditional Puglian snack.

ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Much of the ancient Masseria was constructed from tufa stone, quarried from the grounds of the property itself. The hotel’s architectural interventions blend seamlessly with these original structures, built sympathetically in traditional whitewashed stone.

Historic details such as high vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, and alcoves embedded in the deep walls have all been carefully preserved. The interiors combine local materials with international touches, creating a welcoming, contemporary take on a Puglian Masseria.

IL CORTILETTO
The Il Cortiletto rooms each have an ensuite shower and a private terrace and garden lined with bougainvillaea and lime trees, with views to the chapel across the piazza.

L’ULIVETO
Dating back to 1658, L’uliveto is set on the ground floor of the main building of the Masseria with a separate bedroom and sitting room with a fireplace. Relax on your private terrace overlooking the traditional and still blooming citrus grove.

TOWER 1658
A cosy room set on the first floor of the historic tower with views of the sea in the distance. Original details dating to 1658, such as high vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, and alcoves embedded in the deep walls have been preserved.

GIARDINO SUITES
A spacious private suite that combines the bedroom, sitting space, and fireplace with an outdoor walled garden. Your secluded garden is a perfect spot to unwind with a good book or for an afternoon siesta.

STABLE SUITE
Dating to the 17th century, the renovated stable suites each include a spacious sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and a separate bedroom with an ensuite shower. Enjoy slow mornings out on the sun-drenched terrace with views of the Masseria, or hideaway in the secluded walled garden behind, looking out over the neighbouring fields and olive groves.

TOWER SUITE
This private suite in the historic tower features original vaulted stone ceilings, a comfortable sitting room with a grand fireplace, and a separate bedroom with an ensuite shower. Step onto the wide roof terrace (shared with the Tower 1658 room) and enjoy a quiet evening aperitivo overlooking the olive groves below, with views of the Adriatic Sea in the distance.

IL FORTINO
Concealed among the estate’s ancient olive groves, the secluded Il Fortino suite features a grand sitting room with a fireplace and a separate bedroom with an ensuite shower.

Outside, a private walled garden encloses a personal pool and outdoor shower, surrounded by palms, bougainvillaea, and lemon and orange trees. Set away from the rest of the property, Il Fortino is the perfect spot for a secluded, exclusive retreat in the gardens of the Masseria.

LA CORTE
Masseria Calderisi’s restaurant, La Corte, serves a sophisticated, contemporary take on traditional Puglian cuisine. Many of the ingredients used each day are grown on the property and in the neighbouring fields, with fresh mozzarella and organic beef sourced from local farms, and fish and seafood caught from the nearby coast.

GIOIA POOL BAR
Our sun-drenched pool bar is an oasis of calm, surrounded by orange, lemon and olive trees. Take a seat at a table below a parasol and enjoy a laid-back lunch menu of light Italian salads, healthy international dishes, and fresh pizzas straight from the oven.

Indulge in some homemade ice cream in between swims, or rest on a sun lounger on the lawns below the olive trees with a refreshing spritz from the all-day cocktail menu.

APERO BAR
As evening cool washes over the Masseria, relax on pillows and rugs on the candlelit apero terrace to enjoy fresh Negronis from the aperitivo bar, accompanied by the sounds of laid-back music and humming cicadas. Meet other like-minded guests from across the globe and trade stories as the last rays of the sun catches in the silver canopy of the olive groves below.

PRIVATE DINNERS
A number of private dining options are available to our guests. Enjoy an elegant, gourmet meal under the stars on a private terrace, serviced by your own waiter for the evening, or indulge in a traditional, Puglian farm menu at a candlelit table in the olive groves, the ancient trees illuminated by delicate lanterns.
