The Estates at Meadowood Napa Valley offer guests the beautiful setting and gracious hospitality for which the property is known; set in the most private corner of the estate, with enhanced levels of service and deeply curated experiences resulting in the richest, most personal relationship with the property and
staff.

Located in the northern most point of the property, The Estates are accessible by a single, private drive. Each of the two neighboring lodges includes an upper and lower level.

The upper level is centered by a Great Room with a vaulted ceiling, foyer, powder room, kitchen, dining room, living room, wood burning
fireplace, game table and private deck with additional seating for relaxation and al fresco dining.

Adjacent and directly accessible to the Great Room are two bedrooms, each affording a king bed, sitting area, wood burning fireplace, private deck and six-feature bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers.

The lower level features two bedrooms with king beds, sitting areas, wood burning fireplaces, private decks and five-fixture bathroom. Guests in these bedrooms may be offered access to the Great Room through the formal entry on the upper level based upon the discretion of the host.

Treeline Suite

Step through the French doors onto a private, furnished deck overlooking the fairways or wooded hillsides and enjoy a glass of Napa Valley wine. Airy and sunny with casually elegant, cottage-style interiors, these suites offer added privacy with separate sleeping and sitting rooms.

Interior details include California king beds, writing desks and fireplaces. Selected spa treatments may be enjoyed in in-suite. Sitting rooms feature fireplaces and comfortable furnishings in subtle, natural shades.

Highlights of the luxurious bathrooms include Carrara marble surfaces, heated floors, built-in closets, double vanities, showers and luxurious two-person soaking tubs. These suites offer 615 square feet (500 square feet indoors with an additional 115 square feet of outdoor living space on the private deck).

Hill House

The Hill House is situated on a hillside next to the Meadowood Spa, away from our other guest rooms. In the bedroom, a California King bed is the centerpiece of the room, with a sitting area set to the side with a large window overlooking the wooded hillsides.

Floor to ceiling pocket doors open to an expansive living room with a stone hearth encased wood burning fireplace and large sectional sofa.

Continuing Meadowood’s tradition of indoor-outdoor living, step through another set of large pocket doors to the spacious trellised terrace, furnished with another sectional sofa and fire pit. The bathroom features dual vanities, a deep soaking tub and a glass walled standing shower.

A second deck on the back of the guestroom offers more space to step outside, furnished with chaise lounge chairs, an additional fire pit, deep soaking tub and outdoor shower.

Selected spa treatments can be enjoyed in this room. 1,745 square feet (1,080 square feet indoors with 665 square feet of outdoor living space on the furnished deck).

Dining on the Estate
Operated by Chef Christopher Kostow for more than a decade, the three Michelin-starred The Restaurant at Meadowood is a modern American restaurant meant to speak to and positively impact the Napa Valley.

The Restaurant

Ours is a modern American restaurant meant to speak to and positively impact the Napa Valley. What excites us most is garnering relationships with artisans, growers, foragers and other members of this dynamic place.

We hope that their stories can meld with ours; that we can be caretakers of this collective vision–sharing it with our guests in a manner at once personal and celebratory.

Our 3.5 acre Culinary Farm grows unique, seasonally appropriate crops using organic and sustainable techniques. Emphasis is placed on experimentation with new crops and varieties, new growing and cultivation methods, and the utilization of all edible portions of the plant and the plant’s life-cycle.

This production is in constant service of, and aims to cultivate a broader mission – serving as a direct relationship between the natural landscape, the food system, and the community.

This relationship represents not only a respect for the Farm as a part of the ecosystem but also as an opportunity for inspiration, health, and education.

In Room Dining

The privacy of Meadowood guest rooms makes them ideal settings for romantic meals for two, whether in the morning surrounded by the sounds of nature on the deck or in the evening in front of a crackling fire.

Your Wellness Journey Begins Here
Nature and architecture enjoy a particularly intimate relationship in the Meadowood Spa. In this place of harmony and tranquility your experience will unfold quietly under the skilled and intuitive touch of our therapists.

  • Spa guests will be required to wear a mask while in the spa and for the duration of all treatments, with the exception of facials.
  • Relaxation Gardens will remain closed; however, you may enjoy a private steam shower and lounge area by extending time in your suite.
  • The Spa Culinary Menu will not be available; guests may order from the In-Room Dining Menu.

The Suite Experience

Your personal wellness journey will begin with an in-depth conversation with a Spa Therapist in the privacy of your own treatment suite. This conversation will determine a specially curated treatment plan for you.

Your suite experience will begin with a soothing signature tea and include a pre-treatment experience, followed by the treatment plan created with your therapist and conclude with a post-treatment organic elixir.

The space is designed to perform every treatment and includes all amenities needed so you will never have to relocate or move during your spa day unless you choose to use the relaxation garden.

Relaxation Garden

There are two relaxation gardens, one for women and one for men. Each features sitting areas, steam room and sauna and mineral soaking pool. The garden area is open for you to use pre- or post-treatment. While in the relaxation garden, you may also enjoy a bite from our Spa Culinary Menu.

The Treehouse Suite

In addition to the suites, the Treehouse Retreat specialty room offers another private space in the spa. Partly open to the elements, the room includes a fireplace and a hand-hammered copper tub for custom baths. The space is also an additional option for guests who wish to dine together.

Treehouse Milk Bath

Milk is a good source of vitamin A, vitamin D and lactic acid which helps to make your skin look younger and softer.

Also, it contains skincare’s favorite natural beta hydroxy acids, which are extremely efficient in exfoliating the skin, eliminating dead cells so the absorption of moisture is enhanced.

New skin cells are soothed and comforted by the natural components. Milk’s ingredients play an important role in improving the condition of the skin.

Treehouse Mustard Bath

Mustard baths have been traditionally used for detoxification and purification. Mustard is well known for its therapeutic value when used in a bath, helping to increase circulation, oxygenation, and the elimination of toxins.

Mustard baths are wonderful for the treatment of colds, stress, fatigued and achy muscles, fever, and congestion. Mustard has been known to stimulate the sweat glands, opening the pores and helping the body rid itself of toxins. When this happens, circulation is improved, congestion is relieved and pain is eased.

Treehouse Oligomer Pure Sea Salt Bath

Oligomer Pure Sea Salt bath is the perfect way to get the benefits of a seawater bath without leaving your home. An ideal opportunity to relax, re- balance and re-energize this bath contains an optimum dose of trace elements and minerals, fortifies the epidermis and prevents cellular fatigue. Seawater baths have been known to re-balance and re-energize tired skin and muscles while relaxing the mind and body.

Luxury Spa Products

The Meadowood Spa is working with a curated selection of luxury lines with strong senses of place and high efficacy including Glycelene, Pietro Simone Skincare, HydraFacial MD®, and Aromatherapy Associates.

Wine Experiences at Meadowood
Ninety-six percent of Napa Valley wineries are family owned. And we know all the legendary families by name. Exceptional wines, passionate vintners and memorable experiences await. Allow us to introduce you to the Napa Valley way of life.

The enjoyment of wine is a part of life at Meadowood. Each afternoon guests are invited to come together for a tasting of outstanding Napa Valley wines. We typically feature two varietals, one red and one white.

On Friday afternoons our tradition is to share a Napa Valley sparkling wine to welcome the weekend. If you choose to join us you’ll enjoy the company of fellow guests along with spirited discussions about the wines being tasted and colorful stories about our local vintners.

The Napa Valley Reserve

The Napa Valley Reserve is a private club with a Membership of approximately 500 couples who share a passion for wine and the way of life that surrounds it.

While grape growing and winemaking are central to The Reserve experience, Members, who come from more than 37 states and 11 countries, share other passions as well, including travel, the sporting life, culinary arts, fine art and legendary automobiles, among others.

We offer our Members unparalleled experiences in a beautiful, private setting where they are at liberty to relax and enjoy one another’s good company.

Promontory

The Harlan family’s unflinching foray into wilderness winemaking, Promontory lies near the heart of Napa Valley yet remains hidden within an unmarked territory. In the early 1980s while hiking along Oakville’s southwestern ridge, H. William Harlan discovered an isolated territory.

The remote expanse — ancient and untamed — moved him deeply but remained elusive until the Harlan family finally acquired it in 2008. As the family’s second generation explored and began to cultivate the land, they began to make discoveries of their own.

At the core of this wild terrain they found a powerful geologic convergence, which had shaped its steep, rugged topography, and created the conditions for an altogether exotic winegrowing environment.

Over time they found that the dramatic landscape — just beyond the edge of the known — would slowly change them, and ultimately inspire a new endeavor: Promontory.

The Promontory winery is set apart, just north of the territory, among the western hills of Oakville overlooking the Napa Valley. Visitors are welcome, by appointment, for an intimate introduction to our wine, philosophy, and discovery of the territory.

Recreation at Meadowood
Enjoy the sporting life at Meadowood through croquet, golf, tennis, swimming, hiking and fitness experiences. We invite you to explore, engage and stay fit during your time on the estate.

Golf

The Meadowood Golf Course is a 9-hole walking course and offers immaculate playing surfaces and ideal conditions for year-round play. We are excited to welcome golf enthusiasts of all levels to experience our closely manicured greens and fairways in a beautiful natural setting.

The golf course at Meadowood is open exclusively to hotel guests, Meadowood members and guests of members. Green fees apply to hotel guests. Private instruction is offered through the Golf and Croquet Pro Shop.

Golf clubs are available for rent in the Pro Shop and golf attire and shoes are available for purchase. Motorized carts are not permitted on the fairways, but pull carts are available on a complimentary basis.

Fair Fairways

Decades before the scenic fairways of Meadowood’s nine-hole golf course were built, these pristine meadows and hillsides were home to a Christmas tree farm. Their wooded character remains, replete with fragrant firs and stately pines hugging narrow greens.

“The course has small greens and lots of trees, so it’s quite challenging,” explains Meadowood Resident Golf Professional Doug Pike. “But because it’s not long, less-experienced players don’t feel intimidated.”

For those looking to improve their game, Pike offers a unique teaching approach. He starts by talking with students to find out which aspects of their game they are most keen to improve. “Everything is focused on what guests want,” he explains.

“I watch them hit some balls to figure out why a particular shot isn’t working for them. Then I look at how their body types are affecting their swing. Do they have limitations like flexibility issues? If so, we find methods to overcome those and improve their swing. We always see a change in their game.”

Pike, a 23-year golf veteran who has been at Meadowood for 13 years, has devoted much of his life to studying different swings, analyzing the mechanics of 110 pro golfers’ swings. “When I get someone who follows a certain method, I’m able to step in and help with it,” he says.

At Meadowood, private and semi-private lessons as well as group clinics and outings can be arranged for golfers of every age and skill level. Lessons typically last an hour, but 30-minute sessions are also available, as is playing the golf course with Pike or one of his assistant pros.

Another unique experience resort guests may enjoy at Meadowood is hickory golf, played with authentic hickory wood–shafted clubs dating from the early 1900s and specialized golf balls that replicate old-fashioned tree-sap versions. “We thought, ‘People love playing croquet here and that has so much tradition.

Golf has a rich history, too. What if we could give golfers a chance to play the old-fashioned way?'” Pike says. He found a collector who travels the world in search of antique hickory clubs and now procures them for Meadowood.

Hickory golf presents challenges even for the most experienced linksman. “It’s an entirely different game,” Pike explains. “Today’s equipment, including a wide variety of clubs made of lightweight titanium, causes a ball to go a hundred yards farther.

Back then players had only six wooden clubs and no yardage markers. Hickory golf takes away the formatted approach to the game. Therefore players have to calculate angles and position more closely than when playing modern golf. Now it’s more about power.”

Pike introduces players to the clubs then shares stories about golf’s history and evolution during a round. “Every person who has played with a hickory club raves about it,” says Pike. “It’s an absolute must-do at least once in your life.”

Tennis
Meadowood offers the tennis player an ideal opportunity for a unique and memorable tennis experience. The resort’s tennis courts are designed to complement the inspiring natural landscape that characterizes Meadowood.

The seven immaculately maintained plexi-pave hard courts blend harmoniously with the statuesque oaks, pines, and maple trees that forest the area. Deer are frequently seen grazing the terraced viewing lawns of the center court, while vigilant hawks and chatty woodpeckers circle overhead.

Swimming
As part of Meadowood’s ongoing commitment to a beautiful environment and memorable experiences, the property has completed a full renovation of the swimming pool area. We invite you to enjoy the new Hotel Pool, Club Pool, Family Pool and Pool Terrace during your time on the estate.

At the new adults-only Hotel Pool a series of poolside lounges are complemented by four private cabanas accommodating up to six guests.

Each features deep, cushioned lounge seating with comfortable throw pillows, teak coffee tables, the flexibility of a retractable canvas awning and soft draperies on all four sides. Elevated services are offered in the cabanas daily. A large hot tub rests between the western cabanas.

The new Pool Terrace offers a casual adults-only dining area and bar with table seating under the shade of six tall Palm trees. Low slung bar chairs are arranged at the long Cararra Marble bar.

Additional low-lounge seating, ideal for enjoying a good book and a cocktail or glass of wine, accent the trellised area between the Hotel Pool and Pool Terrace. Culinary and beverage services are presently available in this area through the Pool Terrace bar & restaurant and In-Room Dining.

Fitness Center & Fitness Classes

We are pleased to welcome guests back to our fully renovated Fitness Center. Please understand, due to social distancing requirements, reservations will be required to use workout equipment. Reservations may be made in 30 min and 60 min increments.
