THALASSA SUITE

AZURE SUITE
Offering spacious open-plan living, the beautiful Azure suites are an all-white oasis with touches of blue that recall the aquamarine Ambassador pool immediately below, and the expanse of sea that extend to the horizon line.

HORIZON RETREAT
This unique Horizon retreat is quite literally ‘a cut above’: the most extravagant celebration of outdoor living, situated at the highest point overlooking Platys Gialos, with views that reach all the way across Platys Gialos to Scorpios and beyond.

A 20m2 veranda and magnificent 40m2 all-marble pool double the living space of 35m2 interiors. THE VILLA
An exclusive, eight-bedroom paradise built in the evocative Myconian vernacular, with hardwood floors and contemporary interiors in harmony with the panoramic views of the bay and the surrounding hillsides, and a spacious outdoor area with landscaped garden that celebrates island living.

Designed as a private home with every comfort and indulgence in mind, the villa has the ability to transform from an oasis of tranquillity and privacy suited to smaller groups, to an entertainment hub that can sleep up to 18 guests.

The rooms occupy two levels and can be connected or separated at will in a constellation of two, four or eight bedrooms. Four en-suite bedrooms on the lower floor lead out onto the spacious terrace that doubles the living space, with a covered patio, an pool and open-air Jacuzzi.

On the upper floor, four luxury en-suite rooms, all with tubs and showers, open onto a sunbathing terrace with endless views to the horizon.

Our Executive Chef is a true artisan whose creative style of cuisine combines classic culinary traditions with a contemporary sensitivity to the Mediterranean art of cooking.

Using only the finest farm-to-table ingredients and the fishermen’s catch of the day, his distinctive touch transforms even the simplest meal into a sophisticated gourmet experience that fuses purity and seasonal flavours.

On the strength of our own Myconian roots, and as one of the island’s pre-eminent families in hospitality, we have time-honoured ties to local farmers and fishermen, some going back three decades.

Organic tomatoes, cucumbers, aubergines, zucchini, peppers, onion, garlic, lemons, and aromatic herbs such as sage, thyme, oregano and rosemary, are grown exclusively for our restaurants. Even the salt is the finest fleur de sel harvested around the island of Delos.

Our two ‘underground’ sources provide us with secret supplies: the octopus in one of our signature dishes is delivered by Panagiotis, an old friend of George Daktylides who knows the waters around Rhenia like the back of his hand and only fishes for himself and our chef.

And of course, since retiring as CEO of the Myconian Collection in 2011, Daktylides himself has taken to rearing our lamb and pork on family land.

LATITUDES – BREAKFAST
Flooded with morning light and overlooking sea views that spill in through generous windows, Latitudes is the perfect place to start to your day.

The lavish spread laid out by our chef includes cooked-to-order eggs and a champagne American breakfast buffet, with freshly baked breads, buttery croissants and cereals (catering to those with the most hedonistic tastes as well as those with gluten-free requirements), pressed juices, fruit, nuts, charcuterie and salmon.

This is complemented by our traditional buffet of local delicacies such as stuffed vine leaves (dolmades), Greek yoghurt with island honey, fresh tomatoes and cured olives as well as the more indulgent halva, kataifi and baklava.

It’s so good that guests who only drifted in at dawn get up just in time to catch the last delicious Italian cappuccino.

EFISIA FINE DINING
Our restaurant is sheltered from the evening breeze in an alcove of rough-hewn stone. In tribute to our guiding philosophy, Efisia is named after the Greek word physis (φύσις), the philosophical term for ‘nature’.

As one of the top tables on the island, Efisia offers a gourmet menu in the Relais & Châteaux tradition, pairing a culinary experience with luxurious atmosphere.

Our executive chef Ilias Maslaris is passionate about infusing classics with regional flavours and reveres the process of using seasonal organic produce to create world-class cuisine. He is dedicated to preserving the purity of his ingredients, creating subtle and at times surprising combinations.

His current recommendations at the Efisia are the poached lobster in a bisque of shrimp, fresh garden vegetables and artichoke hearts, as well as the lamb cutlets with a demi-glacé reduction and smoked eggplant.

Both à la carte options and a menu dégustation are complemented by a discerning selection of wines. Bookings are essential!

GEORGE’S BAR
George’s Bar is named after patriarch George Daktylides, who laid the first stone to the Myconian Collection in 1979 and remained at the helm as CEO until he retired in 2010, handing over a hospitality empire to his four sons.

You may spot him at the bar on rare occasions, lifting his glass to his wife Eleftheria without whom none of it would have been possible. And you may also find his mischievous namesake George, son of the Ambassador’s owner, teasing his grandfather with the claim that the bar was in fact named after him.

With its panoramic view of the entertainment terrace, George’s Bar is an ideal meeting spot and a perfect vantage point from which to watch the day’s rhythms unfold. Our barman is an old hand at preparing your poison of choice, and you can rely on him to provide the perfect accompanying snacks.

Light lunches are served (from 12pm to 8pm) in the bar lounge or at your shaded lounger overlooking the Aegean.

There’s nothing more relaxing than a day spent adrift in reverie or reading on our broad daybeds, cared for by our attentive crew bringing fresh towels, irresistible complimentary iced smoothies and anything that might catch your fancy from the George Bar’s menu. This is where to relax, eat and indulge yourself at your own pace.

At sunset, guests returning from the beach mingle around the bar over a glass of wine or an aperitif before retiring to dress for dinner at Efisia or for an evening out on the town. Smooth cocktails flow well into the small hours of the morning. Naturally!

PILATES
Make the most of our world-class fitness facilities, which includes a state-of-the-art Pilates Studio equipped with a reformer. Pilates programmes tailored by our expert instructors are available for beginner to advanced level.

In just 55-minutes, your whole body will begin to feel more ‘centred’ and re-aligned. Each class is based on the original six Pilates principles: concentration, control, centre, flow, precision and breathing.

This method helps improve flexibility and endurance; with a special focus on posture, breathing, core strength, coordination and balance.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Our Holistic Wellness Coach Anita Zachou is a certified Holistic Life & Wellness Coach, HeartMath Mentor, beauty & anti-aging consultant, trainer and speaker. She specializes in stress relief and resilience building, alignment of body, mind and soul, mindfulness, inner & outer beauty balance, as well as holistic nutrition.

POOL & BEACH
The magnificent timber deck surrounding the pool is a world unto itself. It’s a vast expanse and, once on it, you feel as if you’ve set out to sea on a tide that ebbs and flows from breakfast terrace to poolside bar and back. Best of all though are the seamless views out over the Aegean.

There’s nothing more relaxing than a day spent adrift in reverie or reading on our broad daybeds, cared for by our attentive crew bringing fresh towels, irresistible, complimentary iced smoothies and anything that might catch your fancy from the bar’s menu.

You could do nothing at all. Or why not simply watch the shadows of the palms and the parasols lean into the afternoon until, at sunset, stillness descends on the ocean, bringing with it an incomparable sense of tranquillity and wellbeing. Many guests do just that, which is why we simply named it Stay.

PLATIS GIALOS
The beach below our hotel is as beloved for its fine sand and crystal water, as for its little boutiques and quaint restaurants that line the boardwalk.

Watersports organisers on Platis Gialos offer jet-ski rental, instruction in wakeboarding, surfing, skating or waterskiing, tube-sofa and banana-boat rides, canoeing and snorkeling. Glass-bottom boat rides and private yacht charters can be booked to depart from our jetty.

Please speak to our guest services for additional information. The beaches of glamorous Psarou, Paranga and Agia Anna are a short stroll away on either side, as is the promontory that ultra-cool Scorpios has colonised.

MYKONOS
The Myconian Ambassador is situated just above Platis Gialos beach on the south coast of the island, renowned for its clear water and fine sands. The famous beaches of cosmopolitan Psarou, picturesque Paranga and Agia Anna are within easy walking distance.

The idyllic calm of Platis Gialos bay belies its proximity to Chora – also known as Mykonos town – a mere five kilometres (three miles) from the Ambassador.

The town holds fascinating historical and architectural interest and has a relaxed charm, with its boutiques parading local craft alongside international fashion, its clubs, bars and tavernas that spill out onto the picturesque maze of cobbled passages between whitewashed houses, and the little Byzantine churches that emit the glow of votive candles and the sweet scent of incense. A public bus service departs from the end of the boardwalk on Platis Gialos to Fabrica Square in Chora every half hour between 8am and 4am in season (July and August), year-round during “rush hour”, and otherwise on the hour.

To experience the island’s legendary club life, take a short journey off the coastal route or by boat to Cavo Paradiso (2 km away) or Super Paradiso, slightly further afield. The party migrates from sun-drenched beach bars to open-air nightclubs pumping with all-night energy.

Ferries to the famous ruins of Delos, one of the most important mythological and archaeological sites in the Mediterranean, depart from the town harbour. Alternatively, you may choose to the neighbouring desert island of Rhenia or the hidden coves of Mykonos by private launch.

You may choose to spend a full moon night of unforgettable romance on board, dropping anchor off a secluded beach and enjoying a sunrise yoga session before setting off with a breakfast picnic to discover Delos that you may have all to yourself, before the rest of the world awakens.

We do our utmost to make anything that is even remotely possible, a reality.

FLYING HIGH
Take to the skies by helicopter ride and survey the amazing blue expanse of the Aegean Sea and the neighbouring Cycladic islands.

Fly over the island baked by the sun and dotted with whitewashed houses, out across to Delos and Rhenia and then towards Tinos, Paros and Naxos which each have their own character although they are only a few nautical miles from one another.

In a little under an hour, you will have seen our islands like a bird, from a perspective to which not even the locals are privy.

SCUBA DIVING
The crystal waters of Mykonos offer many opportunities for diving and snorkelling, including two shipwrecks and a rich variety of marine life.

Visibility is fantastic and sites are adapted to weather conditions and diver experience. For experienced divers, there is the option of Night Diving, NITROX-enriched air and Deep Diving Adventure and Specialities.

The highlights, among many others are: Paradise Reef at a depth of 2-30m; Paradise Point’s dramatic topography at depths ranging from 10-30m, with swim-throughs and steep drop-offs, as well as interesting ancient artefacts; the Anna II Wreck, a large cement carrier which sunk to a depth between 18-35m in July 1995 and is accessible only to divers certified to PADI Advanced Open Water; the desert island of Dragonisi, located a 40-minute boat ride to the south-east of Mykonos and which boasts spectacular rocks formations and caverns whose walls are covered with small yellow anemones, a great dive site with a depth of 3-30m for underwater photography enthusiasts.

Commonly encountered marine life includes octopus, wrasse, barracuda, bream, groupers, moray eels, lobster, nudibranchs, starfish, sponges and anemones among others.

WATER SPORTS
The beach below our hotel is as beloved for its fine sand and crystal water, as for its action-packed offering of watersports which includes jet-skiing, instruction in wakeboarding, surfing, skating or water-skiing, tube-sofa and banana-boat rides, canoeing and snorkelling.

HORSE RIDING
Riding on one of the most beautiful Islands in the Cyclades is an unforgettable experience.

Discover the unique and breathtaking scenery from Ano Mera to Fokos Beach, accompanied by Fanis Rouvas, a professional-riding instructor, horse-trainer and breeder of 24 years who will ensure that the experience is relaxed, comfortable and safe.

Each rider’s specific needs are taken into consideration and many of our horses are rescue animals that have been working with tourists on the island for over 11 years.
