An alternative to romantic snowshoe hikes through the snow-covered landscape is a beautiful winter hike. 40 kilometres of cleared Nordic walking and winter hiking trails in Längenfeld can be explored by nature-lovers. NATURAL TOBOGGANING IN LÄNGENFELD
Skiing & snowboarding, snowshoeing, Wellness moments in the NaturSPA or tobogganing after all?

When spending your winter holidays at the Naturhotel Waldklause this is a question you simply do not face as you can easily combine the tobogganing experience with other leisure activities.

At night, the fast-paced skid action really gets going as many of the lifts are open until 10:00pm and come with floodlights, allowing for great sledding fun even at night. And when hunger & thirst kick in after all the exercise, numerous alpine rest stops along the toboggan runs welcome you to stop for a bite and/or drink.

Mount your sleigh, ready, go! When spending your winter holidays with us at the Naturhotel Waldklause must not miss out on the ultimate snow fun activity: tobogganing in the Ötztal Valley! Several varied toboggan runs are available for your tobogganing experience.

The range of routes on offer is wide: from family-friendly to demanding, some reachable on foot, others easily accessible by lift. In Längenfeld there are 5 natural toboggan runs with an impressive total length of 18.5 kilometres. Everyone will find their perfect course here. If you don’t have your own toboggan, you can borrow one of ours.

HIKING AND WELLNESS
In our Naturhotel Waldklause you can combine hiking and wellness in a the most impressive way. Hardly anywhere else can you experience the alternation of excercise and relaxation so perfectly blended than on a hiking holiday in the Ötztal Valley.

It is simply wonderful to be on tour in the magnificent mountain world of the Ötztal Valley, to get your pulse up and to feel how every fibre of your body comes to rest when you return to the Naturhotel Waldklause in the NaturSPA. When hiking in the breathtaking landslide landscape of the Ötztal Valley you will find romantic side valleys, clear mountain lakes and over 50 huts, alpine pastures and snack stations for taking leisurely breaks.

Not for nothing is the Ötztal also called the valley of superlatives. Discover the unique flora and fauna and natural jewels such as the Stuibenfall, the state’s highest waterfall, Lake Piburg, the warmest bathing lake in Tyrol or Obergurgl, the highest inhabited church village.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
The Naturhotel Waldklause is the perfect starting point for cycling in the Ötztal Valley, as well as for mountain bike and race bike tours. We are a quality-certified Bike Hotel and member of the Association of Cycle and Mountain Bike Accommodations, the most exclusive of all Mountain Bike Hotels.

The mountain massif of the Ötztal Alps, with its around 250 three-thousand-metre peaks, is not only a paradise for hikers, but for mountain bikers as well. Motivated cyclists and bikers can look forward to 900 kilometres of marked cycle and mountain bike trails in the impressive landscape of the Ötztal Valley.

Around the Naturhotel Waldklause you can explore 28 official routes, which all correspond to the mountain bike model of the Federal State of Tyrol and promise pure riding pleasure. They cover a total of 24,465 metres of altitude difference over a distance of 697 km.

Among them are flat stretches in the wide valley basin as well as challenging trails in the mountains. When exploring the exciting trails at altitudes between 650 to over 3,000 metres, you will surely appreciate the rapid descents that take you directly down to your Bike Hotel in the Ötztal Valley.

NORDIC WALKING HOLIDAYS
Nordic Walking holidays through the Ötztal nature with beautiful tours that start right outside the doors of the Naturhotel Waldklause. When spending your Nordic Walking holidays with us, you can quickly and easily explore the untouched landscape.

This sport, which originates from Finland, increases the pulse rate, allowing you to optimally burn fat. On a Nordic Walking holiday, muscle tension in the neck and shoulder area can be relieved. It is to be understood as health-oriented whole body training for every age group.

When exercised correctly, 90% of the entire musculature is activated. The training success is 50% higher than for normal walking exercise. It is a gentle sport that is easy on the joints and back. Through the use of special walking poles, your own weight is carried by the whole body.

Nordic Walking around the Naturhotel Waldklause has many advantages: varied alpine panorama, pleasant mountain climate and with the “Nordic Fitness Center Ötztal Arena”, the largest Nordic Walking school in Austria.

As a sustainable hotel with an innovative glue-free solid wood construction and Tyrolean sheep wool insulation, the Waldklause was the first hotel in this exquisite category in Austria. In addition to that, our Naturhotel meets the low-energy quality standard for tourism businesses.

During the construction, local materials were preferentially used by regional craft enterprises. When spending your holidays at the Eco-Hotel Waldklause, bearer of the Austrian and European Eco Label, much care is taken to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources.

Certified electricity from renewable, CO2-neutral energy sources is used here. External consultants were also hired to determine water consumption and potential savings. The Naturhotel also takes on a pioneering role with its own waste management concept. The entire hotel is heated by the Längenfeld biomass power plant.

The commitment to nature can be seen in the partnership with the Ötztal Nature Park and in the fact that birdhouses, bird troughs and squirrel feeding stations have been installed in many outdoor areas of the Waldklause Nature Hotel.

We also support ecological travels by train with a free transfer from the Ötztal railway station and from various bus stops in Längenfeld. Our Nature Cuisine comprising regional products underlines the sustainable orientation of the Naturhotel Waldklause.
