In 1976, Johann Maislinger opened the hotel in Altaussee. In 2009, Alexander Gulewicz took over the management of the hotel from his parents Annelie and Klaus. Since 2010, he and his wife Ines have been welcoming guests to the Romantik Hotel Seevilla as the fourth generation.

Brahms Café

Conferences & Seminars
The Romantik Hotel Seevilla offers an ideal environment for groups of up to 28 people. The seminar room has a beautiful view of Lake Altaussee and is equipped with the latest technical equipment.
Our guests stay in spacious, comfortable double rooms for single use. Should there be time for a little breather in between, our wellness area invites you to relax. Of course, the Seevilla kitchen prepares “delicacies” for body and soul with mostly regional products.
Hiking
Our house is the optimal starting point for numerous walks and hikes. The most popular route goes 7.5 km around Lake Altaussee.
The path takes you past villas from the late 19th century, always along the lake to the Seewiese, where you can take a break and let your gaze glide over the dark Lake Altaussee and the mountains. On the way back, you will pass numerous boathouses on the lake, whose dark wood has a homely and cosy feel.
Cycling & Tennis
Rent a bike directly at the Seevilla (normal bikes: free of charge, e-bikes for € 20 per half day or € 35 per day) and explore the Salzkammergut from the saddle. The Ausseerland-Salzkammergut offers varied tours of all levels of difficulty. There is a free tennis court 50 metres from the hotel.
Diving
Lake Altaussee is a real experience for divers, especially because of its enormous abundance of fish. Diving sites are located on the shore of Altaussee and at the Seewiese at the other end of the lake, which is easily accessible by rowing boat.
The underwater forest, which provides shelter for numerous fish species, is particularly worth seeing. For hunters of lost treasures, a dive at the fishing hut is a good idea.
At a depth of about 15 metres lies a German Wehrmacht ambulance truck, which makes a great photo motif. The shore mud still contains one or two relics from that time.
Salzkammergut
Day trips take you to the historic towns and picturesque villages of the Salzkammergut. In the former summer resort of the Austrian court, you should definitely pay a visit to the Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl and the legendary Zauner confectionery.
In addition to the Salt Worlds in Altaussee, you can also learn interesting facts about the white gold that made the entire region rich and famous in Hallstatt and Hallein.
Take the boat to St. Wolfgang, where you can visit the famous pilgrimage church and enjoy a melange or a glass of wine in the café of the Romantik Hotel im Weissen Rössl.
Winter sports
The Romantik Hotel Seevilla offers a free transfer to the lifts in the Loser ski area, the new Tauplitz lifts, to the cross-country ski trails and the Grimming Spa in Bad Mitterndorf.
And even away from the ski slopes and boarder parks, you can experience the winter landscape of the Salzkammergut in a new, gentle way – namely snowshoe hiking. If you are not so familiar with the terrain or would like to try snowshoeing for the first time, it is best to join a guided group.
Ice skating
Slowly but surely it freezes over winter after winter: Lake Altaussee. Soon the pleasure is perfect: you skate your laps on the lake and experience completely new perspectives on the wintry landscape all around.
If the ice cover on Lake Altaussee is not yet thick enough, the ice rink in Altaussee 80 metres from the hotel is a wonderful alternative.
