FOOD INTOLERANCES
No problem, the hotel has a menu for you too!
The kitchen is also organized for celiac disease, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance

Marzemino
The Marzemino grape occupies, for its excellent quality, a prominent place in Trentino’s viniculture panorama. The origins of the vine variety have been lost over the centuries. It is probable that the vine variety comes from Marzemin, a village in Carinthia.

Marzemino is widespread especially in the areas situated on the right side of the river Adige and, more precisely, in those hilly areas which range from Nomi to Pomarolo, to Isera and Mori. In Vallagarina it finds ideal climatic conditions as well as the ideal soil profile which give it its unique organoleptic characteristics.

To differentiate it from other similar products it is called “Marzemino Gentile”. The Marzemino Trentino wine’s title “gentile” is justified by the product’s unrivalled excellence.

Teroldego
Teroldego is one of Trentino’s local wine and has always been considered the prince wines “par excellence” by our oenology. The historical sources cite it as being present already in 1300 and during the Council of Trent it was tasted by the representatives of the clergy mid 16th century.

In terms of its quality the best production comes from the northern area of Trento, in the plains of Rotaliano characterised by alluvial sediments transported by the Noce torrent and the river Adige.

This is how the Teroldego Rotaliano DOC became the first wine with the guarantee of origin label, recognized in this province since 1971.

Gewürztraminer
From the XIII century to the first modern era “Traminer” was the most popular South Tyrolean wine. Throughout the centuries the vine Gewürztraminer spread, starting off from the area of origin, Tramin, to the rest of the wine-making world.

In the hilly vineyards of Kurtatsch which are south facing, a very aromatic wine finds its ideal habitat: limestone and clay terrain!

Here a full bodied wine develops with a vigorous character, and a very dense and strong aroma. A pronounced mineral trait confers to this almost oily body, which smells of roses, magnolia and stone, a persistent freshness.

Müller Thurgau
The Müller Thurgau vine is a cross between vines of white berries created in 1882 by the Swiss Hermann Müller, from Thurgau, while he worked on genetically improving vines, between 1876 and 1891, at the German institute of Geisenheim and ending at Thurgau towards the end of the century.

Up to not many years ago it was believed that the vines used to start off were Riesling and Sylvaner, while recent studies on DNA show that the second vine is Chasselas. The Müller-Thurgau vine is widespread in Europe, especially in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, it was planted even in countries which are new to oenology such as New Zealand.

In Italy it is cultivated in almost all regions, but the main ones are in Trentino-South Tyrol, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto.

Easily reachable on foot in about ten minutes thanks to a path (parking is possible next to the area only for disabled people) it is open every day of the year and it is the visitor centre of the Stelvio Park where ungulates found in difficult situations are treated.

Animals that would die if left free again, housed in large fenced areas, practically portions of their natural habitat.

Discover Trentino: every day a new activity!
Val di Sole, situated in the North-western part of Trentino, has a lot to offer. It is a concentration of beauty, history and traditions. A magical area for those who love nature and every type of sporting activity and adventure.

Arts and crafts
Craftsmanship in Val di Sole is a tradition which lasts through time. You will find carpenters which still to this day carve wood and build custom made furniture in a mountain style, while others dedicate their time to restoring antique furniture.

Trekking & Hiking
Striking and exciting itineraries ideal for hiking in one of the world’s most beautiful scenarios: the Dolomites. Of easy and medium difficulty there are so many opportunities allowing everybody to enjoy the valley and the mountains.

Lakes, forests and paths for those who love trekking at high altitude and Nordic walking, mountain huts and farms to appreciate traditions and food from Trentino.

The Great War
Unfortunately Val di Sole during the First World War was the scene of the so called White War, where the peaks and glaciers of the Adamello Group and Ortles mountain saw the Italian and Austro Hungarian army fight each other.

By following special paths it is still possible to see trenches and forts which have changed not only the landscape for ever, but also our country’s history.

Mushroom picking
If you’re looking for something easy to do and you are “in search of local flavours” in Val di Sole you can venture into the woods to pick mushrooms, taking part in mycological excursions guided by an expert.

Fishing
Val di Sole is covered in stretches of water, torrents, lakes and fishing areas. One example is the Noce river, full of fish, a perfect area to relax and enjoy a day of fishing surrounded by nature.

The Brenta Dolomites – World Heritage Site
The Brenta Dolomites rise at the western end of the Dolomite area and look like a dolomite island. The massif has a north-south development 40 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide.

Its natural boundaries are VAL DI SOLE to the north, Val di Non to the east and Paganella, Valli Giudicarie to the south and Valle Rendena to the west. The entire Brenta group is included in the territory of the NATURAL PARK ADAMELLO BRENTA.

Unlike other Dolomite groups, where everything is slender lines and plasticity of masses, this superb ridge of limestone and dolomitic rocks has majestic and austere shapes, where the rocky walls culminate in peaks and dihedrons of the most varied shapes and sizes.

Stelvio National Park
Protected area of the Alps in the heart of the Ortles-Cevedale. Established in 1935, it is the largest in the Alps with its 134,620 hectares spread over 24 municipalities and 4 provinces (Trento, Bolzano, Brescia and Sondrio). The Trentino sector of the Park extends in the two lateral valleys of Peio and Rabbi.

Alpine Skiing
For all those who prefer the silence of the snow-capped peaks and valleys to the “routes” marked, the mountains that crown the Val di Sole are an authentic, vast gym for the practice of ski mountaineering.

The practice of ski mountaineering must always be “accompanied” by prudence and attention. Therefore, before embarking on an excursion, it is best to contact the Alpine Guides of Val di Sole, who, in addition to organizing ski mountaineering expeditions in total safety, provide important technical information, data on snow conditions and suggest itineraries.

Skiing in Val di Sole – 270 km of slopes and 93 ski-lift facilities
Val di Sole in winter means…a mountain of snow! Thanks to its geographical position among the highest peaks of the Central and Eastern Alps, Val di Sole is one of the Alpine valleys with the most abundant snowfall (according to official data from the snow stations).

Val di Sole represents the largest ski area in the western part of Trentino, thanks to its 3 ski areas: the Skiarea CAMPIGLIO DOLOMITI DI BRENTA Val di Sole Val Rendena, the Skiarea PONTEDILEGNO-PASSO TONALE and the Skiarea PEJO 3000.
