Palazzo Stern Venice

Palazzo Stern is in a very particolar location: just a few steps from the Accademia and Saint Mark, but far from the confusion of the tourists, in the real Venice. In front of the Grand Canal, close to the public transportation service, with a private landing for taxi and boats. Very close to the Hotel there is Campo San Barnaba and Campo Santa Margherita, a part of the city were you can still “taste” the real Venetian life. Often you can find a small local market.

The structure is built with maximum accuracy to every little detail, enriched with antiquities, sculpture and valuable furniture. The rooms are mostly facing the Grand Canal, some other are on the “ Rio del Malpaga” and on the garden. The hotel has a Terrace / Garden on the ground floor, facing the Grand Canal (90 square meters big) and a terrace on the roof with a Jacuzzi bat tub.

JUNIOR SUITE GRAND CANAL VIEW 
A breathtaking view over the Grand Canal, surrounded by typical and partly original Venetian décor, in a private palace. Our Junior Suites have plenty of room (between 35 and 45 square meters) and face directly over the Grand Canal.

Each room is unique in its own way; one has a private terrace, another has the original 600-year old fireplace, another still has a wide whirlpool tub, wide enough for two people to bathe in. Please let us know if you would like to reserve a particular room! All rooms are furnished with Queen sized beds, and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub. Certain rooms also have walk-in showers.

SUITE
Furnished in typical Venetian style with silk wallpaper and Murano glass chandeliers, this suite looks over Rio Malpaga side canal, as well as over the garden in the back of the hotel (not part of the property, but well kept by its owners). The rooms is approximately 38 square meters in size.

The bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub, separate from one another. It is the only room located on the split level between the ground floor and the first floor, and as such it is not serviced directly by the elevator. Twelve steps separate it from the first floor.

THE TERRACE
An exclusive location close to St Marks’ but far from the noise and in a very Venetian area of the city, the terrace of Hotel Palazzo Stern directly overlooks the Grand Canal. It is the best place from which to admire the Grand Canal and its life, be it in the morning while having breakfast, or in the evening while enjoying a glass of wine. A unique location, far from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

VINTAGE BOAT
An original 1956 Celli, completely restored in every detail and at the full disposal of our guests! The boat service is reserved to all reservations made directly through out website. This service is on a strict reservation – only basis, and is subject to certain limitations (contact us for the details). A unique service, and a memory of Venice to treasure and cherish.

SURROUNDED BY ART
This historic hotel in Venice is a Moorish Palazzo which has been built during the 15th Century. Built by Malpaga Family (they will give their name to the Rio next to the building), it was originally a two floors building.

During the first years on the 20th Century the building has been bought by the Stern Family, art collectors and traders. They rebuildt the whole palace (bigger, 4 floor in total) using old parts and materials of the previous one.

Then the new building has been enriched with pieces of art, sculptures, mosaics and architectural elements from other buildings. The result is remarkable, a collage of memories from many different eras. Now, after 2 years of meticulous restoration, Palazzo Stern is magnificent.

PRETE ROSSO RESTAURANT 
An exclusive location close to San Marco Square, boasting a view over the Basin and over the most important city landmarks or in Dorsoduro, with a beautiful view of the Grand Canal. TThis is the restaurant of the Hotel Locanda Vivaldi or Palazzo Stern, exclusively accessible to the customers of our three hotels.

Delicious recipes and spotless service framed by an unbeatable view. Reserve a table today for your special occasion – spots are limited, and go quickly! Customers who reserve their room directly through the hotel website are eligible for a complimentary one-way boat trip to the restaurant.

SKY BAR
A panoramic terrace overlooking the Grand Canal and the northern part of the Lagoon. A place removed from the hustle and bustle of Venice. A quiet corner to relax in at the end of a long day spent roaming the city, enjoying a glass of wine by the lights of the sunset… or a coffee at dawn, should you be the early bird type!

From here you will enjoy 2 of the 4 bridges over the Grand Canal, the Church of San Simeone Piccolo (a neoclassical building dated 1738), the Church of Maria di Nazaret (a Baroque Building dated 1680) and the roofs of San Geremia Church (a Neoclassical building dated 1753).
