The newest addition to our company group’s “hotel division,” the Park Hotel in Bük was built with the utmost care and love—for you and your loved ones. We applied double standards as to the design: we tried to combine our extensive experience with our “weakness” that we also like to stay and relax in hotels.

We read through thousands of guest reviews to make sure that our name will not only be among the newest, but also among the best hotels in the spa town of Vas county. We believe and hope that the result of our work will be a new, bright sport in the vast tourism offer of Bükfürdő

The comfort of our rooms is ensured by special non-sagging mattresses, anti-allergy beddings and textiles, as well as remotely controllable motorized blinds with maximum light filtering.

Moreover, our spacious rooms even have balconies, because we know exactly that there is nothing better than discussing the day’s experiences and impulses, while having a glass of divine wine and enjoying the rays of the setting sun. In order to take entertainment to the next level, rooms are equipped with high-speed wireless internet network and huge smart televisions.

Environment played an important role during the construction process; the solar panel system, heat recovery pump and energy-saving solutions made it possible for us to earn the “Green Hotel” label. Many consider Vas county to be one of the most significant gastronomy centers in Hungary.  This is well represented at our restaurant, be it buffet or waiter service.

With the state-of-the-art kitchen technology, we try to give a modern twist to traditional local flavors, “spicing” them up with the warm and guest-centric approach that is a family hotel’s greatest competitive advantage over its big rivals. We operate 5 more restaurants in Szombathely and its surroundings, whose successful dishes and best recipes are also to be found on our restaurant’s menu.

For visitors arriving by car, there is a closed, spacious parking lot with camera surveillance, where even buses can park. For our hotel guests, we offer a private shuttle service between the spa complex and the Park Hotel. More information is available at the hotel reception. All in all, the aim of our staff is to inform you, to serve you and to support your recreation invisibly.

HORDO’ RESTAURANT
When we enherited the old Aranyhordó restaurant, we tried to construct a building and an environment that’s worthy of the developing streets of our city, but at the same time feels welcoming for our guests. We hope that we accomplished our goal. We’ve designed an interior that’s sophisticated, but at the same time feels homelike and casual.

Our chef refers to our menu as a piece of art. Rightly so, as a lot of work has been put into the recipe, including finding the local and seasonal ingredients from local sources. From the feedback so far: it was totally worth it!

THE LOUNGE
The lounge, which functions as a cosy hangout space, is available for our hotel guests and for the guests of our restaurant as well. Basically, anyone can grab a coffee or a beer here while watching a football game or a main sports event.

A TOUCH OF ITALY
We couldn’t leave out the favourite meal of the youth. Our fresh and delicious pizzas have become very popular among the local fans of Italian cuisine. For takeaway, in the restaurant or on the terrace – you can take a bite anywhere.

BUFFET STYLE MENU
From time to time, we offer buffet-style promotions, which are available for residents of our hometown and hotel guests alike. It isn’t worth missing out as it stands out not only by its quantity, but by its “taste like home” flavour as well.

CORPORATE EVENTS
After the opening weeks it was clear for us, that many companies and institutes based in our hometown of Bük were looking for a place for their events. We didn’t want only to stand out with a friendly and welcoming staff, but with a professional dedicated location as well.

WEDDINGS
The “Hordó” has been a stable location for Wedding Days over the past decades, which is no different from the reopening. We offer our services with a warm heart, and gladly fulfil the individual needs and accommodation requirements of the engaged couple.

SEASONAL OFFERINGS
Every part of the year has its seasonal courses, which taste the best in that specific part of the year. We come back from time to time with these specialties… After all, we need some diversity so we won’t get bored!

TERRACE
In our cosy and quiet town center always feels good to eat something delicious for lunch or for a summer’s eve’s dinner. Or you can hop in for a glass of wine or grab a coffee. The terrace is waiting… if the weather is kind to us!

MAKING A FIRE, COOKING
Bonfires and barbecues are allowed only with the permission of the reception in the green area of the upper parking lot, in compliance with the relevant municipal and state regulations.

DISCOVER BÜK
The best possible way to start the hundreds of years of history of one of the most popular spa towns in Hungary is “in medias res.” Although the first written reference to the settlement in Vas county—that was granted township in 2007—dates back to the 13th century, 1957 was the year in its history that changed the lives of Bük’s residents the most.

The development during the 19th and 20th century may be called the “sugar factory period,” since the factory played a key role in the economic life and social development of Bük. After its closure in 1917, mass emigration began, and exactly 40 years had to pass until the fortunate coincidence that opened a new chapter in the lives of the locals.

The beginning of the “success story” was far from easy, since hydrocarbon explorations—started in the 1920s, then intensely and systematically conducted from the 1950s—in the Bük area got sidetracked, and experts were disappointed to only find hot water instead of crude oil.

However, due to the favorable expert opinion on the water, the town’s leaders took steps to exploit it, and their decision to do so set a new course for the tranquil daily life of the village of Bük. Needless to say, any other mineral resource would have been valued more at that time, yet—maybe because of the memory of the monarchy’s bathing culture—there was hope of building something big.

THE THERMAL WATER
The news of miraculous recoveries traveled fast, and, by the summer of 1961, thousands of people from near and far visited the new thermal spring of western Transdanubia.

It was like a massive pilgrimage: people with demijohns and curious ones on foot, by bicycle, horse carriages or motorcycles arrived to take a bit of the “miracle water” with them—and thus began the success story of the spa, which continues up to this day. Who would have thought that such a success story was about to begin?

Prospecting and drilling took place in many parts of Hungary, and spas of various sizes were built, but, in many places, the establishment or the success of spa complexes hit a dead end. Fortunately, it was different in Bük.

The spa of Bük—opened in August 1962—had an outstanding influence on the development of the municipality that was created by the incorporation of three villages of the lower nobility. Thousands of people visited the spa already in the early days, and, on several occasions during weekends, there were so many people that many could only stand in the only sitting pool.

The following decades of the spa town were marked by continuous development and renewal. Hotels, restaurants and different tourist attractions were built to serve the needs of the guests comprehensively; all of which together with the traditional hospitality of the people in Vas county created a unique and special Bükfürdő that became famous throughout Europe.

The desire for development and improvement has always characterized the approach of the town’s leaders and entrepreneurs.

The biggest success of the 2000s was clearly the elimination of the stereotype “Bükfürdő is just a spa.” The accelerated pace of life and the change in the clientele created a new trend, to which both the spa and the town’s developments were perfectly adapted.

Vibrant festivals, modern saunas and spas, an adrenaline-filled adventure park and the best thermal water in Hungary. These are just a few of the unforgettable attractions that guarantee the perfect relaxation and rejuvenation for all ages, making the stay in Bük unforgettable. Today, Bük makes excellent use of its favorable geographical location, its good accessibility and its proximity to Győr, Szombathely, Sopron and Austria.

BÜKFÜRDŐ THERMAL & SPA
“The physician treats, but nature heals”—this old Latin aphorism may contain all the essential information that makes a visit to one of Hungary’s largest and most beautiful spas worthwhile.

The services of the “four-season” complex are closely intertwined—and they are in perfect harmony. It may not be an exaggeration to say that the spa of Bük with its 14-hectare area offers great experiences and recreational opportunities for almost every generation.

“If we have to choose what we are proud of the most, the medicinal water and the beach area are two obvious ones. The healing water of the St. Clement spring has an exceptionally high dissolved mineral content, which is a rarity both in Hungary and throughout Europe.

Thanks to its beneficial effects it has a positive influence both in terms of prevention and in the treatment of diseases and in rehabilitation processes, and its most unique feature may be that, due to its high alkaline content, it also has a healing effect as a drinking water in the treatment of digestive diseases.

There are several indoor and outdoor pools where one can enjoy the beneficial effects of the medicinal water, but it is worth mentioning at this point that Bükfürdő is no longer “just a spa.”

The beach area in a wooded, beautifully landscaped setting is another attraction that the locals are proud of, and there are several different bathing and sport pools, slides and special water attractions awaiting those looking for the best experiences.

There is even a solution if the weather does not cooperate: in colder or rainy periods, the covered spa offers protection. In perfect harmony with the fizzling of the different pools, there are also relaxation zones for the guests’ comfort.”

Striving to maintain good health is not limited to bathing in the healing waters: the spa’s offer is full of several unique services as well. In addition to a wide range of “usual” massages serving healing and relaxing, there are also exotic treatments for rejuvenation and refreshment.

One of the most popular services of the renewed inner part is the huge sauna world that has already given several world championships participant sauna masters to the world. The park with ten different outdoor and indoor cabins provides place for extraordinary sauna sessions. Sauna infusions have beneficial effects on health, pampering the body and the soul alike.

It is quite clear from the previous lines that Bükfürdő Thermal & Spa that grew from a former ditch batch has become a nationally renowned holiday resort with its services of European standard, huge green area and more than 5,000 sqm water surface. The slogan so fine-sounding decades ago is still true today: “A million visitors a year cannot be wrong!”

The complex with a 60-year history is located in a 14-hectare parkland with old trees and, with its 34 pools or more than 5,800 sqm water surface, it guarantees ultimate relaxation and refreshment full of experiences.

The “four-season” Bükfürdő Thermal & Spa provides the perfect solution for all generations: there are pools filled with medicinal water, recreational elements, slides complex or the exclusive sauna world—just to name a few.

Exercise enthusiasts will not be disappointed either: beach volleyball, beach football and several animations await them. For the little ones, there are children’s activities and a playhouse, while the parents and grandparents can take a siesta in the relaxation rooms.

The Medical Wellness Center awaits with special treatments for maintaining and improving visitors’ health, the preventive and rehabilitative effects of which are unquestionable.
