The La Contessa Castle Hotel is located in Szilvasvarad, only 25 km from Eger. The Castle Hotel, a former estate of the Margrave Pallavicini family, offers the elegance and tranquility of long-gone times with it’s 80 double rooms and 650 m2 wellness section.

Elegant rooms and suites in two separate buildings. The restaurant and the wellness center are located in the castle building. The manor house rooms are located about 100 meters from the Castle. Between the two buildings an open-air passage.

The Erzsebet Restaurant opens directly from the hall in the castle building, which is named after the daughter of Alfonso Pallavicini. The elegant atmosphere can be enjoyed not only by our hotel guests but also the external guests are welcomed with preliminary booking. In summer, they can also try our forest panoramic grill terrace.

On the territory of the Bükk National park, Szilvasvarad offers unforgettable experiences. The most beautiful and well-known attraction of the Szalajka Valley is undoubtedly the veil waterfall, which is absolutely picturesque in every season. The well -known Lipica stud can be visited by horse lovers on horse-drawn carriage, while hikers will find lighter and more advanced hiking trails in the Bükk forests.

CASTLE SANDOR SUITE
Aristocratic pampering in an exclusive suite! Soak up history and let yourself be spoiled like Pallavichini! Among our many well-known guests, Gerald Depardieu also stayed here.

Our 56 m2 two-air suite consists of one living room and one bedroom. Bed: 1 bed 180 x 200 cm double bed ( the bed can not be pulled apart). The living room couch can be pulled out a a third bed, it has LCD TV.

The bedroom has a king-sized bed, a sitting area and coffee machine. Our Sandor suite, located on the first floor of the castle building, offers a wonderful view of the French garden with the fountain.

In the spacious bathroom with natural lightning, a HydroMassage bath and a private Finnish sauna makes the relaxation exclusive. The bathroom is equipped with bathroom kit and toiletries. The Suite is 56 m2 and it is suitable for 3 persons max.

CASTLE DELUXE ROOM
Our spacious deluxe rooms await you with exclusive interiors and furnishings. Living room and bedroom in one airspace. Living room with a pull-out leather sofa and 2 armchairs makes your room more comfortable.

In our Deluxe Rooms we have a Coffee Machine and the bathroom has it’s own Finnish sauna. Our rooms have a wonderful view of the nature and the castle park. The equipment of our rooms provides maximum comfort for wellness relaxation or even business travel.

These rooms are located in the main building of the castle, floor space is 35 m2. Bed: 2 beds, 90 x 200 cm, placed as a double bed, (the beds can be pulled apart) 2 adults and further 1 adult or 2 children can be accommodated, bathroom with shower.

CASTLE SUPERIOR ROMANTIC ROOM 
Romantic rooms with small round windows and canopy beds on the top floor of the castle building. Their specialty lies in their own Finnish sauna, which is a standard equipment of the bathroom. Relax, let yourself spoil your own sauna 24 hours a day!

Our superior rooms have a floor area of 22-30 m2. Bed: 2 beds, 90 x 200 cm, placed as a double bed, (the beds can be pulled apart) Our rooms offer a wonderful viewto the nature and the castle park.

The equipment of our rooms provides maximum comfort for wellness relaxation or even business travel. Our romantic superior rooms not suitable for extra beds. Its’ maximum capacity is comfortable for 2 persons.

MANOR HOUSE SUITE
A 168 m2, three-airspace luxury suite with two standalone bedrooms, two bathrooms, a circle bathtub and shower, private infrared sauna and a 50 m2 terrace with a forest panorama and a heated outdoor private jacuzzi, seating set and sun loungers.

Bed: 2 beds, 100 x 200 cm, placed as a double bed, (the beds can be pulled apart) The Jacuzzi can only be used by you and your guests! In the spacious living room of the suite comfortable sofa armchairs and electric fireplace ensure exclusive relaxation.

The Suit is located in our Manor House, 100 meters from the Castle building. Lavish pampering in an upper degree. Maximum comfort and luxury for couples, friends, families.

ERZSEBET RESTAURANT 
The elegant A’la Carte Erzsebet restaurant opens directly from the lobby, which also preserves the memory of the Pallavicini family, named after the daughter of Charles Alfonso Pallavicini. The fine elegance of the restaurant is conveyed by the elaborate curtains, the snow-white, damask tablecloths and the bone-colored Villeroy&Boch La Scala tableware and cutlery, as well as Villeroy glasses.

The restaurant for 50 people is the perfect venue for cozy candlelit dinners with excellent dishes served by white gloved waiters. The light of the candles is also reflected in the sparkling swarovski crystal chandeliers.

Keeping this atmosphere and Standard, our two separate extra rooms were also created, which also evoke the historical past, both in their name and in their furnishings. The Keglevich room expands the capacity of our restaurant by 30 people, and the Erdödy room by another 24 people.

Everyone can find the culinary masterpieces they like on our menu, as we have thought of those who like both domestic and international cuisine, vegetarians, our guests who follow different diets, but lovers of specialties also find the maximum satisfactory dishes of their taste.

We ask our dear guests to use the services of our restaurant in suitable outfit! Our external, non-hotel guests are requested to inform in advance about the availability of our restaurant on weekends and holidays, since outside guests can be accommodated depending on the occupancy of the hotel!

CYRANO RESTAURANT & DRINK BAR 
In the immediate vicinity of our wellness area is our Cyrano Restaurant and Drink bar. It evokes the relaxed atmosphere of English pubs with its boxed layout and cocktail bar. It was named after the Oscar Award -winning movie Cyrano de Bergerac,some of it’s details were filmed in our castle starring Gerard Depardieu, who was also a guest at the hotel Alexander suite.

Our hotel guests, if they get thirsty during the wellness rest, can also sit in their bathrobe for a refreshment or order a light snack-like lunch. In the evenings, the Pub atmosphere provides an ideal venue for pre -dinner or after dinner wine drinking or cocktail.

GRILL TERRACE
Seasonally operated grill terrace with beautiful forest panorama. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting out on the terrace for a light glass of wine or eating a mouth-watering barbecue dinner on a warm summer evening.

In addition to breathtaking views, the usual luxury comfort is provided by parasols, garden furniture and the usual high -quality accessories, rose beds and herbs give the place a romantic atmosphere.

Our nearly 600 m2 grill terrace for 150 people is perfect for grilling parties, corporate events and wedding receptions. Our grill terrace is open from spring to autumn, of course, depending on the weather. One part of the grill terrace is smoking friendly.

In addition to the two smaller private rooms in the main building of the castle, in the area of the Castle Park, 150 meters from the Castle building with the most modern technical equipment of Szalajka Event Center, excellent venue for business negotiations, conferences, team building trainings and gala dinners.

The conservatory can be used for coffee breaks and standing receptions, and in good weather the terraces can also be used. The lower level of the building features bowling and squash courts, billiards and a cocktail bar.

In the event of beautiful weather, the Castle’s carefully well groomed French garden provides an excellent location for the ceremony, or our direct rose terrace is also perfect for this purpose. Our 150 person panoramic grill terrace can also be requested to conduct a standing reception.

Our Szalajka Event Center is also located in the park area, which, with its state of the art technical equipment, is an excellent venue for weddings, receptions and gala dinners. The Pallavicini room with a maximum capacity of 120 people can be furnished on request and can be divided into up to three smaller sections, as well as an open terrace and a closed winter garden enhances an unforgettable atmosphere.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Unique photos in a unique environment to capture unforgettable moments. The castle’s balmy air, carefully groomed French Park with it’s imposing fountain and spice garden, the Neobaroque Castle, with it’s magnificent furniture and swarovski crystal chandeliers, seduces the soon to be married couples for a romantic photo shoot.

For those couples who do not have their wedding in our hotel, but would like to display the atmosphere of the castle on their photos, we can provide the Castle park and the building’s communal rooms, (lobby, main staircase, and corridors) to take beautiful photos. The fee for this is 30 000,-HUF / occasion, which includes a bottle of champagne, which, of course, can be served to the young couple if requested.

Indoor photography can only be provided if the furnishung is not moved, and it is not possible to stand on the furniture without shoes! Our castle hotel reserves the right to refuse or cancel the possibility of photography in case of occupancy over 70% or in case of a private event.

The 650 m2 wellness section of the castle has a special hillside location, thanks to the proximity of the Bükk and it’s unique beauty, and the two panoramic glass walls off the wellness, it offers a unique experience to relax for those who want to relax.

In winter you can refresh yourself in the indoor pool with a pleasant temperature, and in summer in the outdoor pool the soft breeze of the always pleasant Forest Climate enchants and calms the body and soul of our guests, out of the everyday life of the bustling urban existence.

In our indoor swimming pool and it’s experience elements you can refresh yourself throughout the year. During the summer, our wonderful panoramic outdoor pool and Beach Bar serves the physical and mental refreshment. If you would like warmer water, our 6-person jacuzzi awaits you, while the smallest ones are invited by the children’s pool.

Our 3 saunas offer real relaxation and recharge, the largest of which is the traditional Finnish sauna, and the two smaller ones are the bio sauna for the lovers of lower temperatures, and the aroma sauna for those who want something special.

The refreshment during and after the sauna is guaranteed by our ice fountain and three experience showers. And to do something for the beauty of the skin, you can try traditional Turkish steam and Hammam in addition to the traditional steam chamber.

On the lower level of our Szalajka Event Centre You can find the La Contessa Cocktail Bar, which is the perfect venue for those who want to have fun, relax and play sports. It can accomodate around 20 to 30 people at a time.

In order for the Entertainment Centre to meet all the needs, there is a professional bowling and squash course and a billiard table and darts as well. The bowling section is designed so that children can enjoy this type of recreation- the little ones can roll on the so-called lightened courts.

There are also changing rooms in the corridor adjacent to the bar which leads us straight to the Squash course. La Contessa Bar is a popular venue for friendly gatherings and team building trainings. About the rental fee please inquire our colleagues in charge of events or at the reception!

DISCOVER SZILVASVARAD
Szilvásvárad is located in Heves County in the Belapatfalvi micro -region at the foot of the Bükk. The name of the small village, which is located about 345 meters above sea level, was given from the Slavic castles, it is now recognised as a well-known holiday resort.

The Szalajka Valley in the settlement is part of the Bükk National Park, thus it was declared a nature conservation area. There are few settlements that, unlike its small size, ( the village has a population of about 1749 people ) preserve so many gifts to nature and the human spirit as Szilvasvarad.

Szilvásvárad has been inhabited since ancient times as evidenced by the Paleolithic Age finds in the Istalosko cave. Written records mention Warad as early as around 1300, but a Eleskovar was built much earlier. According to historical sources, our King Louis The Great also liked to stay here.

The main source of livelihoods for the population was the forest. In addition to forest work, potash cooking, iron- ore processing and tile production provided jobs for the people living here. Today tourism is the most significant occupational sector.

Visitors are free to enjoy the wonderful environment, fresh clean air, tranquility, the silence of the forests, the roar of the streams. The Szalajka Valley can be walked through (pedestrian walk), discover on bicycle or on a small railway in the Bükk National Park.

You can see the trout lakes, the uniquely beautiful Veil Waterfall cascading over natural tufa formations, the Open -Air Forest Museum, the Forestry Museum, the Wildlife Park. Designated tourist routes lead nature lovers to the primeval forest, lookouts and cave.

Szilvásvárad gives home the world -famous Lipica stud. Viewing the tribal stall, the museum, the pasture stud is an unforgettable experience. In addition, the only Reformed round church in Hungary can be found here, as well as the Millennium Viewpoint at the end of the nature trail leading to Bükk, but there is also a prison museum and local history exhibition.

For lovers of recreational sports in winter there is a ski resort with a snow cannon, a ski lift, a snow-handling machine, but Hungary’s first adventure park also has a multitude of challenges, but also a peculiarity the country’s only one -pipe bobsleigh. Fans of extreme sports can indulge their passion in the same way as those who come to the village to ride a horse or drive a carriage, or just plan a pleasant bike tour around the area.

In addition to the natural beauty of the village we can get to know the Village’s historical past and culture on a couple of days of excursion. The settlement also serves with gastronomic miracles, just think of the trout, which is a majestic food either baked or smoked.
