BOBAJKA RESTAURANT & CAFE’
The City of Tokaj is the guardian of a centuries-long wine-making tradition, a special architectural heritage as well as a number of local traditions. Located in Andrássy Kúria in Tarcal and recommended by the Michelin Guide, Bobajka Restaurant and Café represents an approach respecting local values but still being progressive.
This is also demonstrated by the name Bobajka, which is the Zemplén version of the Hungarian poppy seed bread pudding, being a more than 300-year-old recipe. The raw materials to be used in the restaurant are purchased from local producers, and the wines to be served also come from the best local wineries.
The continuously expanding wine list consisting of Tokaj wines exclusively, 120 items currently, contains the drinks of renowned wine producers as well as those of smaller emerging wineries. Accordingly, the guests can see a comprehensive picture of the Tokaj wine region when visiting Bobajka restaurant.
Pairing the excellent wines with the courses is ensured by Kitti Koór, Food & Beverage Manager of Andrássy Kúria & Spa and Tamás Langó, the Michelin Sommelier Award-winning Executive Sommelier of BDPST Group.
The guests can taste the classic Tokaj Furmint wine as well as other drinks, and, also, the cocktail menu offers the classic cocktails with a special Tokaj twist, hereby ensuring the experience of special refreshment.

With its flavours and recipes, Bobajka restaurant wishes to convey the heritage of the wine region and its special atmosphere to the visitors, and it also aims to provide its guests with the experience of an unforgettable taste trip. The experience of recreation is further enhanced by the cave bath having a main water corridor, from where small, circular spa rooms open awaiting you with pampering aqua massage.

Don’t miss one of the most imposing islands of our wellness area, that is, the 15 x 6 metres pool surrounded by columns, with its 26-28oC water ensuring carefree relaxation. TOKAJ ON TWO WHEELS
Discover the fabulous treasures of Tokaj on two wheels! Go for a spin along the hillsides of vineyards, between the famous wine villages, in the embrace of the Zemplén, boasting green highlands! Make your bike or electric scooter tour even more memorable by visiting local cellars, picnicking in the soft lap of nature or adventuring through the most beautiful vineyards in the area!
PANORAMA TOUR
The tour takes you through the wine region’s special viewpoints. In Tarcal, the statue of Blessed Christ statue can be reached on foot: from the top of the hill you can also see the turquoise-coloured mine.
At the end of Tarcal, we continue along a small concrete road to the Chapel of Saint Teresa, from where we can enjoy the sumptuous rhythm of the vineyards and the striking sight of the small church whitewashed above.
In Bodrogkeresztúr, you’ll not only find the 40-centimetre-high lookout point, but also the 3200-year-old gold treasure of Dereszla. The tour is recommended in snow-free weather from April to December.
MEDIEVAL CASTLE TOUR
Two beautiful castles and half a dozen noble mansions can be visited on this tour, while we cross the most beautiful areas of Zemplén. The trail requires stamina, but the climbs are compensated by the spectacular views.
In Erdőbénye you’ll find the memorial house of Máté Laczkó Szepsi: he is said to be the first to have made aszú, which he gave to Princess Zsuzsanna Lorántffy as an Easter gift around 1630. After a steeper climb, Boldogkő Castle, built in the 13th century, offers beautiful views.
A winding, more difficult road leads to the castle, also a medieval castle in Regéc. Next stop Tolcsva: six castles await you in this tiny town – the Szirmay-Waldbott castle has an interactive exhibition about the history of the noble family.
ON THE TRAIL OF WONDERFUL HISTORICAL SITES
On this tour of Zemplén, you can see perhaps the most beautiful castle in the country and a Hungarian Downton Abbey. From Sátoraljaújhely you can cycle through forests towards Füzérradvány, where the romantic-style castle of the Károlyi family stands.
The famous English park with its 300-year-old plane trees is definitely worth a walk. The medieval Füzér Castle, built on a steep volcanic ridge, offers a stunning view as it towers above the surrounding green landscape.
On the way back, we roll along – on arrival in Sátoraljaújhely, it’s worth visiting the cellar of Ungvár, with its ivy-covered cellars and small paths reminiscent of a fairytale garden. The tour is partialy on Slovakian territory, hence a valid identity card is required.
