The traditional lodge Posada de la Laguna is located on the banks of Iberá Marshes. Surrounded by tropical veg- etation, the place combines adventure relaxation, ideal to experience the treasures of the Iberá Natural Reserve in Argentina, the second largest wetlands in the world.

Iberá
It is called Esteros del Iberá to an extensive wetland covering about 12,000 km², in the province of Currents, 1​ at northeast from Argentina.

Only surpassed in extension by the Marshland ( Brazilian, Bolivian and Paraguayan) with which they form the second largest wetland in the world, part of a much more extensive hydrographic system: the Iberá macrosystem, of about 45000 km², in which a ecosystem subtropical and tropical of enormous diversity.

Due to its peculiar geography and difficult access, the area has a rich and varied animal population. The fauna autochthonous includes numerous threatened species for which this is one of the last habitats remnants; Among them, the marsh deer (Blastoceros dichotomous), the pampas deer (Ozotocerus bezoarticus), the capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris), the maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachiurus), the alligator overo (Caiman latirostris) and black (Caiman yacare), the curiyú boa ( Eunectes notaeus) and the small river wolf ( Lontra longicaudis), the hauling monkeys (or geez), as well as a huge variety of birds such as the pirincho among so many many birds.

Boat Safaris

Canoeing
Canoeing is ideal for exploration and photographic safaris particularly for those admirers of aquatic or river birds such as ducks, Jacanas or storks. The wonderful sunset right in the heart of the lake’s peaceful landscape is an unforgettable exxperience for all of your senses.

Trekking
With your feet on earth ready to join and feel the energy of this fascinating place. Activities start with a visit to the Center of Interpreta- tion of Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, which combines the objectives of the Museum of Anthropology and Natural History, exhibiting natural environments, playing videos that illustrate and orient the visitor for a better knowledge on the complexities of the ecosystem, history and local culture.

Afterwards, the trekking trip continues along the trails contem- plating a great variety of plant and animal species, just like the “caraya” monkeys, pampas deer, capybaras and bundreds of bird species.

The boldest ones can also enjoy nocturnal esxpeditions and get absorbed by the sounds of the night and amazed at the sight of faxes, raccoons, black armadillos (Tatú Negro), capybaras and nocturnal birds.

Horse Riding
Horseback riding is a different choice to become acquainted with the marsblands and palm groves in close proxcimity to the Iberá Lake.

Birdwatching
