“I don’t think we will add any more,” says our sommelier Michela Cavedoni, smiling a bit embarrassed. A short time ago there were 750 labels and she had already promised that it would remain that way for the moment. For the moment, precisely!

Since the opening of the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise in March 2019, Michela Cavedoni has collected a wide selection of unique and fine wines. Wines from small local wineries which are difficult to find and wines that come from particular growing areas, wines from organic farming and vinified with respect for nature and the product.

She is particularly proud of her collection of great vintages of Amarone and of course great Tuscan wines. During your next stay we invite you to take part in a wine tasting with Michela Cavedoni.

WINE TASTING
Imagine being surrounded by vineyards, in a beautiful old residence, feeling the sun on your skin and tasting the most beautiful fragrances and scents in a good glass of wine. This means having a holiday in Italy. Lake Garda counts many wine cellars along its shores.

One of the most famous wineries not far from our Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise is the MASI winery. The winery and its annexes have been owned by the Boscaini family since 1772. The family relies on the knowledge and technique of the ancient Romans, wisely combined with the high standards of wine production today.

To expand its range of products, the Boscaini family has combined three important wineries, including the Canevel estate, the Conti Bossi Fedrigotti estate and the Conti Serego Alighieri estate. The Valpolicella Classica territory extends between Lake Garda and Verona. The region has held the DOC designation of origin since 1968.

The most famous estate of the Masi family is that of the Counts Serego Alighieri, already mentioned by Dante. Situated among the vineyards, the estate can be reached along a charming avenue of poplar trees. The manor was purchased in 1353 by Pietro Alighieri, son of Dante Alighieri.

The estate still bears the important name Alighieri. Since then all MASI wines, in particular the Amarone, are kept in cherry wood barrels where they mature until they reach their unmistakable aroma.

During a guided wine tasting you will have the opportunity to discover all the nuances of these fine wines. The four varieties that are usually tasted are Valpolicella Superiore, Montepiazzo, Amarone Riserva and Recioto Casal di Ronchi.

Of course you cannot miss a guided tour of the estate’s wine cellar. This is the only way to see the large cherry wood barrels, as well as the large number of bottles still in the ageing phase, and of course to learn about the method of drying the grapes.

BOAT TRIPS & BOAT HIRE ON GARDA LAKE
Our resort works with Gianni, the manager of a small family-run boat hire business. All the trips start from Lazise or Sirmione. We offer you not only the possibility of organizing your own individual boat trip but also our shuttle service which will take you directly to the port of Lazise.

Where is Lake Garda at its best? – On the lake itself. On a Riva boat. Stylish motorboats of particular beauty have been built in the Riva boatyard since 1842. The boat creations by Riva are a contemporary legend and represent exquisite nautical design made in Italy.

Riva boats have made film history several times. In 1954, Silvana Mangano and Vittorio Gassmann were on board in the film “Mambo”. Kirk Douglas docked in Montecarlo under the flashlights of the photographers.

Alain Delon maneuvered Brigitte Bardot and Claudia Cardinale with French coolness over the water and Anita Ekberg sunbathed her Swedish dream body on a Riva boat. 4-hour boat excursion from Lazise along the Eastern lakeside. Discover Bardolino, Garda with the Renaissance villa Canossa and the picturesque bay of Punta San Virgilio with the villa of the Counts Garienti and its Renaissance garden over the lake. You cross the lake towards Fasano, drive past the romantic Torre San Marco in Gardone and enter into the Gulf of Salò.

Stop in Salò. Then set course for the Sirmione peninsula and pass the islands of the lake, Isola del Garda and Isola dei Conigli, as well as the fortress of Manerba. Stop in Sirmione and return to the port of Lazise. Opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the lake from the boat. Shuttle to the port of Lazise and back.

FULL DAY EXCURSION

One of Europe’s best theme parks is only 6km away from the 5-star Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise. Since its founding in 1975, Gardaland has become the largest theme park in Italy and is constantly expanding its offer with new attractions. The whole family can have fun here – from a water playground suitable for small children to an action-packed roller coaster ride with virtual reality glasses.

Fantasy is the theme area for the smaller children. “Baby Corsaro”, “Baby Pilota” and “Peppa Pig Land” is the perfect attraction for the youngest visitors. The “Kung Fu Panda Academy” is ideal for families with younger children and there is also a roller coaster here, the “Kung Fu Panda Master”.

The attractions at Adventure offer pure excitement. Whether with the pirate adventure “I Corsari”, with one of Europe’s best water attractions, the “Fuga da Atlantide” or in the 4D cinema.

The attractions for adrenaline junkies can be found in the Adrenalin area. Here your breath will stand still – during the double loop on the mythical roller coaster “Shaman”, during the vertical descent of the “Oblivion The Black Hole” or at the top speed of the “Blue Tornado”.

GARDALAND SEA LIFE AQUARIUM
Sea lions, clownfish, sharks … Lake Garda’s Sea Life Aquarium shows the fascination of lake and sea dwellers. Where else can you admire animals and fish from all over the world in such a comfortable way? In the ocean tunnel, visitors walk through the underwater world as if they were part of it.

And the fish seem to float in the water above the visitors. More than 40 pools in 13 themed areas fascinate young and old. Watch as fish from mountain waters and Lake Garda frolic in the water and jellyfish move elegantly in their element.

The world of film is alive on every corner of Movieland. Here Rambo fights on an artificial lake and cowboys appear in the Wild West Show. A whole holiday full of Italian beauties. There are enchanting places, villages and towns all around Lake Garda, one of the most beautiful lakes in northern Italy. Some of them are hundreds of years old. Starting from Lazise you can discover all these sights around Lake Garda and even more in nearby Verfona or on a trip to the metropolis and fashion city of Milan.

Lazise is one of the oldes towns in Italy. It received the rights for independent administration as early as the year 983. The Venetians turned Lazise into an important commercial center and left behind among others a beautiful customs building at the port next to the church of San Nicolò as well as the city wall around the old town.

Stroll through the winding alleys, across the large piazza of Lazise and enjoy the sunset at the lake along the promenade. The Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise offers a free shuttle service tot he city center of Lazise. Alternatively, you can walk from the hotel to the medieval town center in just 10 minutes.

From Lazise you can also take boat rides – e.g. to Pesciera, Bardolino, Garda, Malcesine or Sirmione. From the water of Lake Garda you get a different perspective of the picturesque town of Lazise.

BARDOLINO
On holiday at Lake Garda, a glass of sparkling Bardolino or Chiaretto is almost a matter of course. After all, the renowned wines are grown here directly. Bardolino is the neighbouring town of Lazise and enchants with its relaxed atmosphere.

GARDA
The former castle of Garda was so important in the Middle Ages that the lake at the foot of the castle was renamed Lake Garda and still bears this name today.

The bay of Garda enchants with the castle hill Rocca di Garda, the headland Punta San Vigilio and Monte Luppia. Cypress trees, olive trees and oleanders complete the idyllic picture. From the promenade you can watch the fishermen bringing their catch ashore.

MALCESINE
We recommend a cable car ride in Malcesine to Monte Baldo, from where you have an excellent view of Lake Garda. The landmark of the charming area is the Scaligero Castle, which Johann Wolfgang von Goethe visited on his trip to Italy.

PESCHIERA
When strolling through Peschiera, the many canals are inevitably reminiscent of Venice. The old town is surrounded by a large star-shaped fortress built by the Venetians and the Austrians. And this in turn is surrounded by water.

Peschiera went down in the history books, among other things, because here in the 19th century the Italian freedom fighters fought against the Austrians. The city is part of the Lugana wine region and only 8 km away from the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise.

VERONA
The tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet, who, despite the hostility of their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, find each other, still touches theater goers and film fans all over the world today.

Visitors to Verona will inevitably find traces of William Shakespeare’s tragedy. Verona, a World Heritage City, is also home to major opera festivals and monuments from Roman times, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The capital of the province of Veneto is located only 6 km east of the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise.

To experience a performance in the Arena of Veronais spectacular to say the least. In the stands of the impressive amphitheatre, the visitors feel a unique ambience and opera singers give first-class performances in front of magnificent stage sets.

Nabucco, Tosca, Carmen … they have all been on the repertoire of the Verona Opera Festival. THE SPRING AT GARDA LAKE
When snow still adorns the peaks of the mountains north of Lake Garda, spring begins on Lake Garda in March with the first flowers and the magnolia blossom. In April – at Easter time – the season is even more colourful with blossoming cherry and peach trees.

Andrè Hellers botanical garden (approx. 50 km): On the slope of Monte Lavino in Gardone Riviera the Botanical Garden of the André Heller Foundation boasts around 3,000 plant species from all over the world as well as accompanying works by international artists. The garden is also famous for its 13 m high rocky landscape with waterfalls, a miniature replica of the Dolomites. Open from March to November.

One of the most extraordinary parks in the world: In the Parco Giardino Sigurtà in Valeggio sul Mincio (ca. 18 km) near Lake Garda, crocuses and daffodils blossom first – and hyacinths spread their fine scent.

From the 2nd half of March to April, the bright colors of millions of tulips and between them the white and purple Muscari can be seen. They are replaced by the flowering irises. From May onwards, the roses will be in full splendour, accompanied by fairytale summer flowers until late summer. Open from March to November.

THE AUTUMN AT GARDA LAKE 
In September, late summer weather at Lake Garda and the lake is wonderfully calm. Especially at our eastern shore, the sun still sends warm rays in the evening, while at the western shore many places are already covered by the shadow of the mountains behind.

In the vineyards around Bardolino, Garda and Lazise, the winegrowers harvest grapes for Bardolino and Bianco di Custoza. In October the temperatures are excellent for hiking and strolling. Perhaps your tours will take you past old olive trees harvested by hand.

Or to the bright yellow lemon gardens at Limone. You can also take a guided tour of the Limonaia del Castel – above the old center of Limone – where you can also see mandarins, bitter oranges, clementines and kumquats.

Autumn is also a popular month for sports enthusiasts to visit Lake Garda. Thousands of people compete in sporting events such as the Lake Garda Marathon in Torbole, the Garda Trentino Half Marathon 21K in Arco and the La 10 Triathlon in Bardolino.

A sea of sailboats glides over the water at this time of year when the sailing regattas “Fragilia Cup”, “Torboli Trophy”, “29er Eurocup” and “Halloween Cup” take place. And even in November, when the sun shines during the day, surfers still indulge their passion on Lake Garda.

THE WINTER AT GARDA LAKE
