On 31 July 2010, the Episcopal city of Albi was added to the UNESCO world heritage list. It thus proudly joined some 911 renowned places that are part of the natural and cultural heritage of humanity. Albi, a city of Art and History, conceals many architectural treasures.
The old city, remarkably well preserved, has numerous buildings made of brick, which explains the name “Red Town” given to Albi. The 13 th century cathedral Saint Cecile towers over the whole town.

CALM, SERENE ATMOSPHERE
The 5 star hotel, La Réserve in Albi has 20 rooms and luxury suites all individually decorated. The rooms are located in two buildings and each room has its own balcony or terrace overlooking the garden or the Tarn river. This makes your room a place of calm and serenity.

SUITES
You can make yourself comfortable in one of the air-conditioned Suite or Prestige room at La Réserve that are well appointed for family use.
The Suites consist of a main bedroom with a double bed or 2 single beds according to your choice and a balcony overlooking the river as well as a living room also with a balcony with park view. The living room can accommodate 2 or 3 children.
The fully-equipped bathroom also has a separate shower. All apartments are air-conditioned with satellite television, wake-up clock, minibar, safe, hair dryer.
DELUXE ROOM
Our Deluxe rooms are located in two buildings and all have balconies overlooking either the Tarn river or the park. Our Deluxe Tarn and Deluxe Park rooms are equipped with a double bed or two single beds according to your choice, and have a bathroom with bath and separate shower.
PARK AND POOL ON THE BANKS OF THE TARN
Recharge your batteries on the banks of the Tarn in a protected green setting. Stroll along the river through our 5 hectares of parkland. In the shadow of a tree, perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to see a boat sailing on the waters of the river.
La Réserve in Albi also provides you with a huge swimming pool (20m X 10m) facing south. The terrace is an ideal spot for contemplation and rest. A real moment of charm and serenity awaits you among the flowers and greenery on the banks of the Tarn not far from the Episcopal city of Albi.

Take time out at the Bar at La Réserve in Albi. The Bar is named after the famous painter born in Albi, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, some of whose work is on display in the Episcopal city. Albi and the surrounding area
Take advantage of your stay at La Réserve in Albi to discover the treasures of the Tarn. Make the history of the region come alive by touring the small fortified towns or bastides.
This will take you to the medieval city of Cordes-sur-Ciel, only a few kilometres from the hotel. On the way you will come across many fortified villages like Penne, Puycelsi, Castelnau-de-Montmirail or Monestié with its remarkable entombment.
You can stop in the Tarn valley, also at Ambialet where the river wends its way round the medieval village. Why not explore in more depth the Cathare country with a visit to Carcassonne? Toulouse, an hour’s drive from Albi, also offers a very rich historical heritage.
Some hundred kilometres from Albi you can see the highest viaduct in the world. The Millau viaduct spans the Tarn valley. The Tarn Gorges, a 43 km long chasm, will surprise you by their biodiversity.
Activities at the hotel
The gabarres or flat-bottomed boats which were formerly used to transport goods, sail on the Tarn while you enjoy the gardens. The hotel has a huge swimming pool which invites you to relax either in a lounge chair or in one of our outdoor lounges.
Clients enjoying sport can use the tennis court or play table tennis. Rackets can be borrowed from the reception. And after a match or a day’s sightseeing, you can relax in our jacuzzi, take advantage of all the benefits of our sauna and sports’ equipment, bike and tread mill.

Saint Cecile’s cathedral, the biggest brick cathedral in the world that dominates the town. A ‘must’ during your stay in Albi just like the Saint Salvy collegiate and its Romanesque cloister dating from the XII th century.
Le Palais de la Berbie houses works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a famous painter born in Albi. The museum contains the world’s biggest collection of works by that artist emblematic of the end of the XIXth century.
Albi’s Lapérouse Musumi will give you an insight into the history of this XVIIth century explorer born in Albi. The expedition that took him round the world ended in a shipwreck off the islands of Vanuatu.
Walks in Albi or in the Gresigne forest, excursions and Gaillac vineyards boat trips in Albiin flat-bottomed boats (gabarres) or canoeing on the Tarn river at Ambialet or on the Aveyron at St Antoine-Noble-Val. There are many opportunities to appreciate our region at your leisure.
