A fairy tale called Relais. “Relais Il Canalicchio” stands like a small gem inset into the summit of a hill. The picturesque town built around the Castello di Poggio, which dates to the 10th-11th centuries, dominates the town with its imposing tower and a splendid little church close to the vineyards and olive groves at the centre of the lush Umbrian countryside.

The luxury Relais has almost completely remodelled and enclosed the town of Canalicchio, an intact and resplendent oasis of peace, where only the twittering of birds interrupts the relaxing stillness.

Inside, the historic and rural origins of the place are obvious; it still has its apparent castle-like structure and boasts an enormous and exquisite millstone, the old press and some lovely arches, evoking the enchanting atmosphere and charm of times gone by.

COUNTRY SUITES
The Suites are located on the top of the hillside, delightful wide view on the green Puglia’s valley and the charming town of Collazzone. Each one has it’s different décor that has been custom-made right down to the smaller details.

All rooms have independent air-conditioning, a small kitchen, mini-bar, satellite TV, direct phone, private safe and garage. Located on two floors, those on the ground floor have an arcade, the ones on the first floor have a nice covered terrace under the roof.

All Suites have a private entrance and they are all similar: a double-bedded room, a bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower and a living room with an access to nice private outside verandas with arcades allowing overlooking the beautiful garden and a gorgeous panorama.

The building has an outdoors swimming pool with hydro-massage, a solarium and wide sunbathing. All the country suites at the ground floor, as well as the pool and solarium areas, do not have architectural barriers.

The connection of the suites with the medieval hamlet of Canalicchio is guaranteed not only by a road but also by a cut wooden pedestrian bridge, which is part of the picturesque pedestrian trail.

PRESIDENTIAL TOWER ROOM
It ‘s the most exclusive room of the hotel. It was build in the tower of the original castle, on two levels. At the first level the entrance and bathroom with shower. Going up the spiral stairs you can reach the level where the bedroom is.

The double bed is wrought iron, with 360° view on the surrounding countryside. Roof beams. Equipped with hair dryer, minibar, telephone, safe, television, air conditioning with individual management.

• Oil extra-virgin oil only with Umbrian olives, from the first pressing, made with stone pressed, top quality olives such us “frantoio”, “leccino” and “moraiolo”;
• Wine “La Fontana” white and “Sagrantino dell’Umbria” red. Produced from selected wines of sweet and aroma-filled grapes, processed in such a way as to obtain genuine and tasty wines that are also beneficial for your health;
• Honey the scented flowers from our high lying fields, from orchards and woods represent the unique, true and inimitable fruit of your bees;
• Tomato sauce, made with only the pulp of ripe tomatoes, grown on our uncontaminated land, selected and processed using the ancient methods of our grandmothers. Its fundamental qualities are aroma and taste;
• Pulses red and white beans, chickpeas, chickling vetch, lentils: typical products of our land hand-picked and dried in the sun. They are a genuine food, rich in protein.
