The location known from the ancient times as Kastion/Castrum/Castiloni is situated in Mužolini Donji, between Buje and Krasica. This fort and its surroundings were always a secret safe place for the locals. Fertile valleys and fresh water, olives and wine, all prerequisites for a good life.
A small Romanesque chapel was named after St Cantianus. The fortress is long gone, for centuries now, and the only thing remaining are the chapel foundations. But nature has stayed the same. It is still a secret place and a starting point for all travelers who come to explore and enjoy Istria.

Location
Istria, the ancient land of rich history, picturesque towns and a long coastline, a green patch of land surrounded by clear blue sea, is the largest Croatian peninsula and the closest Mediterranean destination for most of the European countries.

San Canzian Residence Grožnjan
If it were only possible, our hotel would be located in Grožnjan, in our opinion the most beautiful village in Istria, only a few kilometres away as the crow flies. However, since we cannot move the hotel there, we have turned one of the most beautiful houses in Grožnjan into a small residence with full hotel service.
Our idea is that you, like its residents, are in the centre of this small, picturesque town while enjoying the luxury of our hotel and having the opportunity of benefiting from all our services. To make your experience complete, there is a parking space in Grožnjan and a free all-day shuttle service to our hotel.
Luciano Restaurant
Luciano Restaurant was named after one of our most important suppliers of authentic Istrian products.
Along with premium local, preferably eco, ingredients the most important factor for the success of our restaurant is the team. Our team is distinguished by its precise, but not pretentious cooking, where the main stars are the supreme local ingredients.
Exquisite breakfast is created from local and predominately organic ingredients made in house, followed by a la carte lunch offering modern presentation of traditional Istrian dishes like Istrian stew “maneštra”, homemade traditional pasta “pljukanci” and seasonal truffles in a warm and relaxing environment of our restaurant.
In the evening our creative team will demonstrate their excellent culinary skills. The choice of a la carte dishes or tasting menus, inspired by traditional Istria but served in a modern way will please even the most experienced fine dining connoisseur.
