Back in 1850 Mr. Singer, a famous American entrepreneur, invented the very first sewing machine and opened the Roman headquarter. Later on Singer Palace changed use, but always kept its original charm and mirrored its central location.

In 2018, the Visocchi family reconverted Singer Palace into a chic boutique hotel, adding a contemporary touch to the historic location: centrally located in the heart of Rome the Singer is walking distance from all the major historical sights of the city as well as the best shopping roads.

Santovino, a cosy restaurant in the heart of Rome just a few minutes walking distance from Singer Palace, would be a lovely stop for a nice and intimate lunch. This tiny restaurant is located in Piazza della Torretta, a few steps from Campo de Fiori. It offers one of the best roman kitchens in the area with a good wine selection.

Start the afternoon with a glass of Italian sparkling wine and enjoy strolling around the shopping streets. We suggest to visit Brooks Brothers and Davide Cenci. The new collections await you. A shop assistant will be deligthed to give you all necessary tips for a great shopping time.

DAY TWO
After your breakfast, we suggest you walking to the Spanish steps and take advantage of the morning calm to shop at Versace. Visit some of the most spectacular fountains in Rome city center and enjoy their Baroque design. Understand how the water flows underground and talk about the aqueducts with their original hydraulic mechanism. Follow the Virgin aqueduct path, from the hill to the valley, and taste how pure and fresh its water is, drinking from the “nasoni” (nose-like fountains)

The entire Roman Empire thrived from their water access and gained immense power throughout the land due to their transportation systems. Although Aqueducts existed before Roman times, they were categorically improved and perfected during the years of the Empire in result of their mastermind engineering of the city’s waterworks, ultimately making the success of the city by giving autonomy in supplying water and providing sanitary aid for public health.

This tour will allow you to appreciate how important the Aqueduct structures were for Rome but also still continue to be. You’ll get to admire the Magnificent Trevi Fountain as well as Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s very first free-standing fountain in Rome, something he became a master of.

Although there were hundreds of Aqueducts throughout the vast empire, Rome itself had only 11. The most impressive of all is the “Aqua Virgo” as it is the sole supplier for the large mass of water needed to power the Trevi fountain.

During this tour, you’ll enter a real once-in-a-lifetime place that is hidden below the world-famous fountain and be able to see part of this underground Aqueduct within the Vicus Caprarius Archaeological Museum.
